- This time I have for you my motorcycle diaries with more details from our recent (2019) motorcycle trip to France. I'm riding my bike with my daughter as pillion to Normandy and Brittany. She's 14 and that is her first longer motorcycle trip.
In this part we just started and heading from Midlands to Dover and then heading towards Normandy. More episodes to be ready soon. The whole trip was 2000 miles around the whole Normandy and Brittany in France.

Just found your channel and subscribed ! - Better than most travel channels, really enjoying the Normandy/Brittany videos and great to see you spending time with your daughter (biking can be a little selfish sometimes !...)
Welcome aboard! I'm not that often riding with her but that's not because I'm selfish - she just prefer her friends now ;)
Looks like fun. That is great to take your daughter on a trip!
Luckily she still enjoys it
so cool that your daughter rides with you. if i ever have kids I hope they will be willing to be dragged along on my trips too! awesome travelling duo!
hahaha, she only goes on one trip a year with me, and trying to make it short each time ;)
Hello folks. I have a question to all my English speaking viewers. At the time of recording this video I haven't thought about publishing it in English so we had all the conversations in our native Polish language. Many months later I changed my mind and decided that all the videos on this channel will be in English but this one was already done. So, I was thinking about the solution and I did what I did. I made the subtitles for the parts when we speak Polish. Do you guys think it's watchable for you? Is it fine and enjoyable? Or would you rather prefer different solution like pure voiceover? Let me know what do you think as there will be quite a few parts of that video and I will try to make it better for you. Much appreciate. Cheers.
Subtitles are fine by me!
Pretty cool video by the way
@Paulo Almeida Thanks mate, stay tuned for more. Cheers
Subtitles are much better than voice over in my opinion. You can kind of guess the tone of the original conversation with subtitles but not with voice over. But in the end its up to you. :) I hope you have more videos in your back catalouge now were all mostly stuck inside!
Actually a mixture of Polish and English with subtitles works really well! Great video again! :)
Subtitles works well and the mixture of Polish and English spoken adds authenticity to your nationality. Great video, I enjoyed it.
Good to hear that. Thanks
Dobry materiał, jak zwyle 😎💪👊👈
dziekowka :)
very watchable like all your vids I'm more into sports bikes but enjoy watching tours on cruisers
Thanks Jim. Good to hear that. I love this sort of bikes, but I enjoy all of them :) ... and touring videos :)
Just watched the whole series today and thoroughly enjoyed it, great filming, funny and entertaining. Keep up the great work mate. 👍✌️🤘
Thanks mate, I hope it's got only better since those videos. Cheers ;)
Woke up this morning a bit down in the dumps, this cheered me up no end :)
Glad it did 🍺
Presentation and quality is great as always , subtitles no problem after all you are Polish lol .. 🤣 Keep up the good work.
Well, that's actually quite funny as Maia is bilingual and she much prefer English so she could switch any second really. That's me who can't deal with it even when I prepare all my clips in English :D
And on Large Screen it does look amazing !
thanks mate. It looks definitely much better in 1440p than 1080p if you have an option to change it.
Uncle Longbeard on 32inch its ok, on 51inch TV it looks just amazing! :D
Good Morning 👋🏻
I’ve just come across your channel by chance and I’m really enjoying watching your videos.
PS: That’s the same happy face that my 15 year old daughter has too 🤦🏻
teenagers :D what can you do. Glad you enjoyed the videos. BTW nice CB11 on your avatar
@@UncleLongbeard Thanks 🙏🏻 It’s an EX, I purchased it new just over a year ago. It’s a lovely bike to ride.
I like your 800 Kawasaki too. That green and the sunburst orange colours Kawasaki did for that bike, really made a difference. They’re lovely.
PS: I have the same Matt black J-Cruise Shoei helmet. It’s perfect for our style of retro bikes.
I put a black & silver number plate on my bike. It looks very retro. So would yours 😉
@@SBKPete I was thinking about buying an EX but prefer 2 cylinders. Anyhow it's an awesome bike. I bet the black plates are better but I prefer not to catch a look from the officers ;)
@@UncleLongbeard I had a copper interested in the bike when I was refuelling it once. He never batted an eyelid 😂
Played your video through my TV, fantastic picture quality. Really enjoy your content, I've never been to France 🇫🇷.
Defo with a visit
J'adooooooOOOre Tonton ! Très belles images , j'vais regarder la suite ! ( Tonton : oncle : uncle )
Super filmik.Fajnie W800 w taka traske.Pozdrawiam I do zobaczenia może na trasie w UK.

Damn, you have alot of great content mate 🔥Have to spend some time going trough some of your videos. Keep up the great work,
I need to do the same on your content. Cheers mate
Shimanko ,Love the video intro 👍hello from northern England🇬🇧.I ride my motorbike around Eastern Europe.luv it
Siemanko 😁🍺 the East is still more wild and not so densely populated which is fantastic
@@UncleLongbeard siemako-Don't I know it.Apparently Belarus has a great wild forest
The ancient forest in Belarus is called Bialowieza forest.
What places could you recomend travelling through in Polski that are beautiful?
Bialowieza is in Poland actually ;) Well, the whole forest lays between those two countries, but the name comes from the name of the village Bialowieza which is in Poland in fact. Anyways - what can I recommend? Quite a lot I guess. But there are some must see places like Tatra Mountains, Bieszczady, and Masurian lakes. There's also a lot of other brilliant places like Pieniny, Ojcowski National Park, Kashubia, Drawa National Park, Biebrza National Park, Karkonosze National Park and many more. Feel free to contact me for more details if you will ever plan to go to any of those places. Cheers
@@UncleLongbeard Thank you I will Study These places!
Next Week I Set Off for Hungary.Im a Bit nervous but it should be o.k.Can Relax more as soon as I leave this country immediately as I arrive in France. strangely. That's how it was last time.learnt a bit of Polish from good RUclips channel called BNT.
Thanks Peter
Great video once again, Normandy has some great roads and beautiful towns and villages, Honfleur being one of my favourites. The mix of languages is great, the subtitles are fine, no need to change your format.
PS What software do you use to edit your videos?
Thanks for the comment. I'm using Davinci Resolve, I tried a lot of software but I find this simply the best.
Really enjoyed the video and superb filming! What camera did you use and where did you mount it? many thanks and keep uu the good work!
Gopro 7 black, mounted on ram mount on handlebars or chest mounted. Thanks for the comment
Thanks for these videos iv watched them all great to watch, how many days did it take you to cover this trip?
Many thanks
I think it was nine but can be done in five, just not with teenager at the back 😎👍
@@UncleLongbeardthank you great channel
50mph must be challenging I guess on these beautiful roads.
on the long empty stretches it's near impossible. And almost no one cares.
@@UncleLongbeard The sign said 50 km/h - not 50 mph. You should have lost your drivers license right there going 70 mph (125 % above the speed limit).
@@fuglbird I'm afraid you wouldn't be the best police officer my friend. 50km/h sing was on another cut, and the fastest I was doing there was 67 mph according to my speedo. The W speedo is known for showing 10% more than the real speed, So I was doing 60 mph in reality. Which means 96kmp/h for a few seconds on a road which had a limit of 90km/h. First think, talk late my friend. And stop being internet police - you're really terrible in that role.
I heard the music (6:05) before. But I forgot the name. Could you please tell me the name of the music (6:05)?
Super 👍
podziekowac :)
Adore you not being apologetic about speaking your own language in parts, I'll be doing this trip from Newcastle so 300 miles for 😂
From Newcastle it can be a nightmare ;)
I guess the speedlimit was 50 kph not Miles ;) Great Video. I like your content
I saw that sign, it was in the village, that straight was later 😁 thanks for the comment
I see that you've owned both a Sportster and the W800. These are both bikes that I'm very curious about. I haven't ridden either yet. If you'd like to share your thoughts on how the bikes compare. (riding feel,.. comfort.. handling.. touring capabilities..) I'd appreciate it a lot :-)
I don't have Sportster, my friend have. I have softail evo. Anyways, much different bikes. W800 is a tad bit slower with tad bit better acceleration, but it feels like sporty accelerates better because it's got the torque... Loads of torque. W800 handles better on low speeds, hd I stable on motorway. Go, check them both as they are so different
@@UncleLongbeard thank you. I've only rode dual sport motorcycles so far, so I can't really tell what to expect with bikes like these. I will try to ride them. (I'm in Asia now.. and thinking about what motorcycle(s) I might want to buy when I go back home. Not sure if or how much I can check these bike models out while here.)
Hello I want to know about your W800 exhaust ???
You have to change it or not???
it is custom made exhaust, there are two videos on my channel about it
@@UncleLongbeard link????
I’m looking to travel into France just wondering how easy it is because of Brexit and Corona and if you had any problems at the borders. Also where can I get info on everything I need to take (legal stuff) thanks
There are no problems whatsoever. Just a passport, check if your insurance works abroad and that's it. I don't know if you don't need some visa though which you just pay for. I'm EU citizen so don't need it and not sure if they introduced it or not. Just Google 'travel to France'
video finished so fast :(
First 👀
"Startowalismy" .... lol! Ponglish?
nie wydaje mi sie ;) sjp.pwn.pl/sjp/startowac;2523933.html
@@UncleLongbeard my mum was Polish, she used to make my brothers and me speak Polish. Ive never even been there. We used to say Oktory godzina get up tu-jesz jutro rano? We used to read bajki Aesopa. That's how I remember words like bocian dzik wrona lis mysz zdajanc zow kot pies, mandra sowa etc etc etc. If Polish was like English and useful everywhere I'd have taken it more seriously and I'd be perfectly fluent. Pozdrawiam z Walii
Now I got your point. Startowaliśmy is a proper polish word but I use a lot of ponglish sometimes 🤣 And that's true that Polish language is not very useful... Sadly 😁 pozdrowienia
