I was fortunate to have seen this place. We reached the top and the clouds was covering the areas, when the mist disappeared an amazing sight to behold

Yes! Longji Rice Terraces. Went there right before harvest in October of 2019. The weather was overcast so the gondola ride to the top was misty. The next day the clouds hovered around the top of the mountains but good enough for some of my videos. There were many other tourist areas around the Longji Rice Terraces, in Guilin and Yangshuo.

These are mostly located in southern China where water is more abundant. And by their names, they are mostly owned by minorities living in hilly terrains. These people’s lives are getting a whole lot better now, because of tourism. The farmers’s families normally run a bed and breakfast during tourist seasons, making a very decent living. Most of China’s farms, however, are on flat lands, and are operated by modern machinery.

When China's was an Agricultural economies, they did not left the industries, foreseeing the need in the near future, they may be foods shortages in coming decades.
China's had plenty of seedling stockpiles, which may come handy, with uncertainties such as climate change.
That's the reason China's predicted in coming decade the world's may be encountering water crisis, which is why China's is building canals transferring waters from the south to more drought stricken north,in making sure the nation have a balances waters resources.
