Right idea but different reasons for Syrax and Meleys. Syrax was already partially bonded with Rhaenyra because she hatched while in Rhaenyra's cradle when Rhaenyra was a baby. This practice makes it extremely easy for the Targaryen to later claim that dragon. Jace, Luke, Joffrey, Aegon (Rhaenyra's baby son, not her brother) and Daeron all have dragons solely because of this (or had, in Luke's case). Syrax became quite docile and friendly because Rhaenyra often brought her to court, and so encouraged her to be more friendly. Rhaenys in the books has a drastically different personality to the show. She's incredibly bold, wilful and passionate. She's a lot more eager to go to war. Essentially, Rhaenys is very similar to her aunt Alyssa, Meleys' first rider. Alyssa was a VERY extraverted tomboy who enjoyed learning to fight with swords and when she married her brother Baelon, she was (seemingly deliberately) keeping half the Red Keep awake with her uh... 'sounds of pleasure' whenever she and Baelon went to bed. In my opinion Rhaenys had a lot more to do with her marriage to Corlys than anyone else, despite Jaehaerys being king. Vermithor: "Hmmmm.... Balls detected.... rider accepted"
When I saw the first person try to claim Vermithor, I was like, "Here we go again. Don't do that. You're going to die."
No wonder Jahaerys said to Rogar Baratheon that he dosen't need hostages becasuse he has Vhermitor.
The fact he is a smith and Vermithor is called the Bronze fury is just perfect
Meanwhile ulf after claiming silver wing: strolls around Kingslanding*
These dragons just give me chills❤
Vermithor: rawr, only the strong and brave are worthy.
Silverwing: omg you smell like on of Alysane's grandkids, welcome to my lair.
Hugh: COME ON!!!
Vermithor: I CHOOSE YOU!
The Bronze Fury needed a rider to match, he chose Hugh the moment he scanned over the dragon seeds, he just needed to see his fury and courage.
Saera being his mom is actually I change I love from the show it adds so much like if dragons are like skin changers a piece of Jaehaerys is in vermithor and that piece of him finally gets to make peace with Saera indirectly
Vermithor "Rah im killing everybody! If only SOMEONE stood up to me! Maybe theyd be worthy! Oh well i guess ill keep trying until somebody shows some balls!"
I love the detail that there's a little reflection of fire in Vermithor's eye after it pans back out- it's like he's literally "warmed" up to Hugh and the little twinkling flame is the first ember of affection for his new human
Vermithors like “you look veryy familiar to someone🤔”
Hugh: COME ON!!
Vermithor: This that new Valerian what I've heard about, I like it!
Great facial acting by the actress. Great music.
I like the old design of Vermithor in ss1 ending more than his new look ( which i think made him friendlier than the old one , the old one was an unfriendly cocky old beast long time no master a wild creature )
I don’t think there’s that much difference, we just see him more clearly here
It's the same design, there was just less light in the scene in season 1...
Agree with this sentiment but it does seem to be mostly the same design.
Same design, even has the cleft lip scar. Amazing detail
1:16 that’s the smile of a person with an ever expanding god complex
Ah yes the..."you wanna get nuts?! Let's get nuts!" strategy
Hugh stands up to Vermithor and dares him to kill him
Vermithor: I like this one
He’s literally my Skyrim character lmfao
SAME! A long-bearded Nord with white mane 😂
Same lmao ! And a werewolf
@@GozoGypsy In my case a vampire lord. I never did the companions quest line.
Very happy for him! Kind of saw it coming 😅
Hugh the hammer smiles like a crook😂
Vermithor : a BAMF after my own heart
this thor guy always was my pick for the best targaryen character.
but ulf got amazing dragon as well
I wonder if Vermithor could fly carrying the weight of those balls
Vermithor: Human is tough! 😮 I better do not anger him!
It was at this moment, Hugh Hammer became one of my favorite characters in HOTD. I’m aware of the ending, because I read the books and studied the lore. BUT STILL!!! 🔥🔥
The fact rhaenyra locked them in there and basically let them burn instead of allowing them to flee if they no longer wanted to participate kinda justifies what they chose to do
