#63 Good morning, Julie and Marc. I own a 2014 Winnebago Trend 23B. I have 63,832 miles on it. Fuel Economy is 15.3 to 15.7 miles per gallon. Both Driver Seat and Passenger Seat will swivel! The vehicle is nimble and handle's well.
That is awesome that your seats swiveled. Maybe that was an option that this owner didn't choose, or maybe I simply couldn't find the lever. But glad that it is an option, because I thought that was a missed opportunity. -M
I'm so glad you've done this. Next year I have friends coming from Russia. I'd like to have all of us rent a RV to travel to Florida.
Thank you. Sounds like a wonderful plan for you and your friends when they visit. Wishing you a wonderful trip. -M
I truly enjoyed your two-week experience on the RV. I've always been looking forward to doing that when in Florida myself. I live in Miami and it is very exciting to see people enjoying what Florida is all about.
Thank you. So glad you enjoyed it so much, and hope you are able to do it yourself soon. Really a great trip. -M
Native Floridian here. Yes, the iguanas fall from trees in cold weather but are not dead. They are an invasive species that have taken over much of the state, but they are a little too far north for their native habitat. So if we get particularly cold, they shut down and hibernate. People tend to equate falling from trees and being unresponsive with dead. This is how you end up with local headLines like “man flees car full of iguanas”
Thanks for sharing. Yes, figured they were just hibernating. Would be quite a surprise for folks who pick them up thinking they are dead, and they come back to life in their car. -M
Thank you for this! I am researching our potential first RV, and the Legend is on our short list. The thought of a getaway to Florida and renting the same type of RV we are looking at is very promising....
You are welcome. Glad our video was helpful. -M
Hi Marc and Julie. It's great to see your smiling faces again even though this video was from a few months back. That little RV looks like fun and easy for just about anybody to drive even if they have no experience. That was great that you wee able to help that person out that had the hit and run crash. I love seeing people doing good for others in need. Thank you for that. I look forward to getting don to the Keys someday soon, looks like a lot of fun. Looking forward to seeing you some where out on the road. Safe Travels and Happy Trails!!
Hello Wesley, glad to be sharing it. We had planned on releasing this video in March, but when the travel restrictions hit, we felt it was in-appropriate to share until restrictions lifted again. This of course, put a hold on a lot of our content. But we have been up to some other really cool stuff, including planning a virtual summit. Check out www.hittheroadrvsummit.com for more details. And we will have more RV rental related content out soon. We were also glad we could help with the accident. We love helping others. Wishing you safe travels, and a great trip to the Keys. -M
I never comment on RUclips but I had to on this video! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I’m looking to buy a 2015 Winnebago Trend 23B and this was the closest I’ve seen online for a test drive/review/parking vid for the Trend. I think I’m in love even more. This looks perfect for my dog and I. 😍
You are welcome! So happy to provide you with something so specific for you. Thank you for making the time to send us a message about it, and we hope you and your dog love your 23B when you get one. -M
There's a group on Facebook called "Winnebago Viva-Trend" that is very helpful. You should join. facebook.com/groups/1745064112390896
traveling changes life for the better
Always excellent, informative content. Ideal for first-timers and experienced RVers alike. (And we were also honored to make a cameo appearance, lol!)
Glad you enjoyed it, and yes, it was fun to have you in the video. Have a great day! -M
We have this RV, and the front seats DO turn around and recline. On either side of your legs under the corner of the front of the seats is a latch you pull up on. One is for turning, the other reclining.
Thanks for sharing. I searched a LONG time for a lever or latch on our seats. Perhaps ours simply didn't have that option. But very happy to hear that others do. -M
It’s true 🦎 fall off trees when it’s “cold” & that sure was a 🐊 or 🐍. 😉 welcome to the beautiful state of Florida 😝
Thank you. We had a great visit. -M

Great review. Thanks for making this clear. If you have lived in an RV and want to fly and rent in a popular area, it seems like a great alternative. Use the knowledge you have to do it. Less stress than multiple day drives on long distance highways.
Glad it was helpful! Yes, it was a great alternative to regular travel, and gave us some much needed flexibility. Avoided the long drives to the area (cost of time is big for us), and it was super fun too. Thanks again, -M
We had an Itasca that had a similar floor plan. HATED the corner bed. If I was using that model, I’d be sleeping on that drop down bed! We enjoyed the size of the Itasca for being able to get into parking spaces etc, but if you are wanting to have one of these and tow a vehicle, that’s another story. . . We found that we couldn’t tow our vehicle behind so during the time we owned the Class C, I drove behind in our car when necessary. The storage on this RV is maybe a little bit bigger than the Itasca. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing your experiences. We were actually fine with the corner bed, and really enjoyed our two weeks with it. Definitely could not tow a car with this one either, as only rated for 2000 lb lowing capacity. But it was so nimble, wouldn't want to bog down with a tow car. We love having our tow car with our big 40 foot long coach though. -M
That RV for rent is definitely a beauty and according to you two, very easy to drive.
I got a little disappointed however when you showed that you can't really reach the pedals properly. Was the driver's seat fully lowered already?
It was a nice RV. But yes, Julie didn't drive it much at all, only about two miles. Because, even with the seat forward, she could not reach well enough. But remember, Julie is only 4'8" tall. Average sized people would not have any trouble at all. -M
What beautiful normal skies
Yes, we had some great weather on that trip. -M
Thank you for the details it will make rental easier and the screens were fantastic the west coast of Florida is beautiful
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. We will have a follow up video soon with more helpful information. -M
I have the 2017 version of this MH. I absolutely love it. The Trend was made for 4 years. 2014-18.
Awesome. Yes, really great little motorhome. -M
A very interesting video, but it would have been really nice to have had details of the costs involved, especially for foreign visitors planning to hire an RV (like us).
Thank you for the feedback. We plan ton share more details on costs in a future video. This one was already getting bit long. Stay tuned for more soon. -M
HI there - here is the RV we rented in Tampa: rvlove.com/rent-winnebago-trend - at the time (January 2020) it was $220 a night but looks like its now gone up to $245 a night. Prices will vary depending on location, time of year, demand etc. All up with insurance, roadside assistance, everything, was a touch over $3,900 for a 2 week rental.
True about iguanas. They freeze to death. We lost a lot a few years ago when it was really cold for a couple of nights. They have finally repopulated.
Thanks for sharing. -M
Loved seeing the U turn on the two lane road - thanks!!
Glad you enjoyed! Yes... what a thrill, for me, as I usually need 5 lanes or more to consider that with my RV and towed vehicle. -M
Thank you for this video. I put it on while my wife is hff alf asleep to send subliminal messages. We will be renting soon for the first time. Be blessed and safe.
Thank you glad you enjoyed it, and wishing you every joy in your future travels. -M
Thanks for sharing you travel ideas! As you know travel expenses can add up really quick! I am interest to know your Total as well as Daily Expenses (like Camp ground Rent, Foods, Gas, Camper Rental Cost etc...) and Saving Money on RV travel ideas please??
Thank you. We do plan to share more detail about expenses in an upcoming post and video. -M
Great video! What kind of camera did you use?
Mostly just our iphones -M
Great video thx for sharing. I had to leave during live but finished watching the replay. Stay safe.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed the video so much and that you came back to finish after needing to step away. Wishing you safe travels too. -M
Loved "breakfast, RV Style". My favorite part.
Thank you. Glad you loved that too. It was pretty special. -M
I live in South Florida, love camping. From where in Australia do you hail? You’re also starting to pick up an American accent 😉
Yes, Julie's accent is a bit of a hybrid now. Originally from New Castle.
I love your beautiful trip the rv it’s the most practical of all
Thank you. We just posted a new video just now about RV rental Q&A that you might like as well. -M
i 6ft 4 ..70 yr old ..looking at short(easy to park) class C..with shower over a short tub? & toilet room ..queen bed (can fold up -out of way in day time) I built such one in 70`s out of a large 1962 metro step van ,,even had a wood stove in it
Hope you can find what you are looking for. Cool that you built one yourself years ago. -M
We almost bought one of these but now are a family of 4 so it would have been a big mistake for us. Still, love the rig if it's the right fit! That's riggin' baby!!
Yep. it would have been a bit small for a family of four unless it was a very short trip and you liked packing very light. -M
Hi Guys I have Your Book and Love It Be safe
Thank you. Glad you love the book! -M
Loved seeing the Florida trip! My question- did the RV come with all the pots/pans/dishes/utensils? Or did you bring your own?
This RV rental included all the linens, pots, pans, and utensils, as we flew in from out of town. But, those were optional upgrades. If local, we might have chosen to bring our own. -M
Awesome content
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. -M
Hi guys I love your videos..how much did this r.v cost ?
Thank you. glad you love our videos. Assuming you are asking how much it cost to rent this RV for the two weeks we had it. We have a ton more information on the rental on our blog at rvlove.com/2020/06/03/florida-rv-rental-experience/ but the short answer to your question is $3900. -M
Any plans to go to AU and RV (caravan as they say)? I would love to go to NZ and/or AU and do that.
We definitely plan to do some caravanning in Australia. In fact, we had actually planned on going in 2020, but the pandemic and related travel restrictions put those plans on hold. -M
Nice vacation
Yes it was a nice trip. -M
I'm confused. After you left the airport you were headed towards St Petersburg on the interstate, but the fairgrounds are in Tampa, not St Pete. Did you check in at the KOA first? What did I miss? Oscar Scherer is one of the most beautiful state campgrounds, in a state full of gorgeous campgrounds.
You must be a local. We probably didn't have any good footage of the other direction, so just used what we had. Yes, Oscar Scherer was great, and Florida has many, many wonderful state parks. -M
@@Rvlove , I am a local, and I used to drive home that route every night :P I loved your video and am now looking into renting a camper van for a trial run. I've backpacked, primitive and tent camped many parks and primitive swiftmud sites in the state and never get tired of it. But age is suggesting an easier bed to get in and out of. #campingAt70CallsForAChange
Thanks for the video. We think a Class A would be too big for us so we’ve been thinking of upgrading from a travel trailer to a smaller class C. I like the look of the Trend....prefer the Navion 😉.
Thank you. Glad you liked the video. Navion would definitely be more roomy than this Trend. We have a friend who full timed in a Navion for years. Still very easy to drive compared to Class A RVs. -M
she is really pretty 💪, im becoming interested in RVing, and your channel is really one to watch
Thank you, and we hope you enjoy our other videos too. -M
Could show where they get water. Clean out stuff. Maybe doing it. It is yucky yes. But helps to know how it is actually going to be...
We got water from the campground stays, and dumped at dump stations in those same campgrounds. We have other content we share with more of the mundane tasks, but maybe we will share more of that kind of stuff on our channel. Thanks for the feedback. -M
What was your gas mileage??
We averaged around 14 mpg. More details in our related blog post here. rvlove.com/2020/06/03/florida-rv-rental-experience/
-M
Great video and saw us and Timmy!! Seems like a lifetime ago!
Thanks Dee. Glad you enjoyed the video. Indeed it does feel like a lifetime ago when we came to visit you in Florida. Hard to believe it was just a few months. -M
Always wonder about cooking inside. hmmm.
We have cooked most meals inside our RVs for nine years. If we are cooking something with strong scents, like fish or a curry, we tend to cook outside. But mostly inside. -M
She said at the beginning they got an ahvee rental.
Yes, that is Australian for RV.
Didn't mean for my comment to sound negative , but I really think your accent is sexy.
you guys drove right threw Nokomis, FL. sorry, we missed you.
We actually hung out in Nokomis a bit, including a visit to the Coach House factory, which we were impressed by.. That is a really nice area. Sorry we missed you too. We were definitely moving at a fast pace in Florida in January. -M
What waa the cost for 2 weeks rental?
Here's our related blog post with more info on costs, which also has a related video: rvlove.com/rvrentalfaq - enjoy!
We owned the exact same model, the front sits are in fact swivel sits :).
Great to hear that yours swivel. I thought that was such a missed opportunity. Could not find the release on our seats. Maybe it was an option, and not all had it. But glad to hear that at least some do. Cool you had the same model. -M
@@Rvlove They all have it. It is the front inside corner of the chair. It's a latch that swings out at 45 degrees. The outboard corner is the reclining control. Tip: move the seats all of the way forward before swiveling them.
Why would you rent an RV when you already own one? That doesn’t make sense to many of us. Isn’t the point of an RV to travel and explore? Smaller is always more maneuverable and easier and thats why I had no idea why you went to a big 40 foot RV from your old smaller one. Thats also why I have a 28’ Class A Tiffin Breeze. I can fit in just about anywhere, and I can boondock for 2 weeks at a time.
Maybe we didn't explain it well enough in the video. We rented RVs because we needed to go from AZ to NY, FL, TX and back to AZ in a matter of only four weeks. It would have taken far too much time to drive between those destinations in the amount of time we had available, especially since we work 40-70 hours per week. We are not retired and traveling only for leisure yet. Our first coach was 36', so it wasn't a big jump up to 40'. Again... working as much as we do, it is nice to have lots of indoor comfort, and feel very at home in our current coach. We have considered going smaller and may do it in the future. Glad you are happy with your 28' Breeze, Something for everyone. -M
New to channel!
Thanks for all you share!
MommaFaye 🌺
Welcome!! and Thank You! -M
Both seats rotate. Similar control to the recline. (Awkward though). We love our 2015 Trend and your video.
Thanks for sharing. We could not find the release for the rotate on our seats. Maybe we missed it. But very glad to hear that your Trend has rotating seats. Just didn't make sense to not have that option on this floor plan. -M
i just started watching your videos, and they are great.
The wife and i are newly retired and want to rent an RV before committing to the purchase of one. (Key West sounds like a good place to start our travels)
What was the cost for your rental for the two weeks? Will
Welcome aboard! We are excited about your future travels. We plan to share some costs in future blog posts and videos. Stay tuned. -M

I can’t rent any RV, I tried and was given a no go. They say sanitizing is the issue
We know there are many still renting. We see them every week. Keep looking if interested. -M
Do you think you will go with a smaller rv?
We are certainly enjoying our travel experiences in these smaller RVs, But... it is very hard to beat the livability of our much larger coach, especially when we spend so much time inside working. We do love how home-like our CC is. -M
I hear yea Mark, for full timing, loving our Bounder 35H, currently remodeling for the New LG 4.5 cu ft washer dryer combo, just released. LG WM3998HBA 4.5 cu.ft. Front Load Washer & Dryer Combo - Replacement Model of WM3997HWA www.amazon.com/dp/B087D8MZCS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tau_CkT2EbSXDD5M0
I appreciate the video and the fact that you filmed it B4 the pandemic hit but your statement of releasing the video unril it was a more appropriate time really now so now the pandemic is controlling when to post videos really now! This is the problem with the media and reporting and this is a country with free speech one is giving too much credence to this whole situation just a thought I would appreciate it this video even more so at the time if you were not able to be out as much thank you
Thanks for your feedback. We just felt weird promoting travel, when there was wide spread restrictions, in an environment we had never experienced before. Plus, backing off of RUclips helped us focus on some other big projects. But we will get back to doing more videos in the coming weeks. -M
M)
Can you share what platform you use to invest your money? Thank you so much, mega love your channel
Don't understand the relevance of this question. Perhaps you are assuming we are retired, living off a portfolio? We actually still work full time, and are saving for retirement. Glad you enjoy our channel. -M
We live in Venice Fl have been to the beach, town and live on Venice ave just the other end👍🏻👏🏻🥳
Great area you live in. We really enjoyed visiting and would love to go back sometime. Thanks for sharing. -M
Hey,,, hold on,, back to Costco, you forgot the booze!! That is a nice rig, one thing I am seeing missing from theses rigs, is the rear is 6 inches to narrow on both sides and does not come all the way to the outside like a “Fleetwood” does. Makes for a much more stable ride, if the rear was a dully that would fix this issue & bring the tires all the way out.
Yep, we needed to skip the booze on this trip... too much driving time. lol. Agreed that if this coach was built on a slightly heavier chassis with dual rear wheels, it would likely feel much more planted. We still really enjoyed our time in it though. -M
Where can I rent that specific rv if I can please welcome any information.
We rented that specific RV from Mid-Florida RV Rentals -M
Great video, what was the cost to rent?
HI there - here is the RV we rented in Tampa: rvlove.com/rent-winnebago-trend - at the time (January 2020) it was $220 a night but looks like its now gone up to $245 a night. Prices will vary depending on location, time of year, demand etc. All up with insurance, roadside assistance, everything, was a touch over $3,900 for a 2 week rental.
Odd.. why does a rental have a US Army entitlement plate? Or are those general issue in Florida?
This particular RV is privately owned, and they have a rental management company handle the rentals for them. So, the license plates is for the actual owner of the RV. RV is not owned by the rental company. -M
Where can i get a rental like this
Try RVShare or Outdoorsy - we got this from Mid Florida RV Rentals!
How much do the stops usually cost per nite
It depends and varies greatly. Usually we find that nightly rates range from $30-$60 per night, but we have paid as much as $120/night. We also save a ton with our campground membership with Thousand Trails, where we pay no nightly fee. you can learn more about that with this link. rvlove.com/start-here/camping-options/thousand-trails/
No green flash???
No green flash on this trip, but we have definitely seen green flash sunsets in our travels. Perhaps the most memorable was in Long Beach Washington. It was just one of those special days. We wrote a blog post about that day if you are interested here is a link. rvlove.com/2014/09/13/simple-things-perfect-day/
-M
Does the RV allow an infant car seat, please?
Sorry, we no longer have access to the RV to check that for you. But we imagine that many do. Something to check on when you plan to rent for sure. -M
Looks more like an RV parking lot than a campground? Are all RV camp grounds like this? Maybe it's not for me.
Not sure which campground you are talking about. Yes, some are tight, and some are very roomy. Depends on what you want, and where you go. -M
Florida state campgrounds are beautiful, as well as many county and city grounds. Swiftmud also has completely free boondocking spots. Private RV and KOA parks are more often like 'parking lots' or trailer villages.
How much is the rent for two weeks?
If anyone knows please update
Prices vary significantly depending on the time of year, length of rental and market conditions. The pandemic has caused a significant increase in demand for RV rentals since they are a great way to control your environment while traveling. FYI... we have a ton more information about this RV rental experience in the related blog post. Here is a link. rvlove.com/2020/06/03/florida-rv-rental-experience/
Also, we have another blog post and video about RV Rental Q&A here.rvlove.com/2020/07/09/rv-rental-qa-your-rv-rental-questions-answered/
To give you a ballpark estimate of what it would cost, it would probably be somewhere around $3K for 2 weeks, but again, there are many variables. -M
Hi Guys I have Your Book Still
Hello where did you rent your rv at . thank you
We rented this RV from Mid-Florida RV rentals. And for those who keep asking about how much it costs to rent an RV like this. Our rental was about $220/day, but I believe they are higher now as demand is much higher. -M

So hubbie drives the RV and cooks. Is there anything wifie does?
Wife does a lot actually,. Just better use of resources. When I am driving and cooking, she can be producing content to share with others. -M
Fred Smith. Sorry. Rude comment. They seem very happy and have things worked out.
MY SISTER & HER HUBBY LIVE IN VENICE!
That is a very nice area. We really enjoyed our visit. -M
"Parked in a regular parking spot" With 20 feet hanging out in the back? That doesn't seem regular.
Actually only hangs over about 4 feet, so we found it very easy to find spots to park. -M
This is a very much a uk and Europe layout
We were thinking the same... that it felt like some European RVs we had seen. -M
How much was it to rent?
I’d like to know too.
The price of RV rentals varies significantly depending on when and where you rent. And also the length of the rental. Daily rates might be $150, but a two week rental like ours can drop the daily price substantially. And no, we did not get this for free to showcase the vendor. Same goes for the future rental video we will share from our Texas RV rental. Maybe we will share our costs in that video. -M

What were cost of this adventure?
Am going to guesstimate at $150 to $200 a day. Compare to daily car rental costs and Airbnb cost and availability.
Good guesstimate Kevin. And we plan to share some details about RV rental trip costs, once we gather all detail from both trips in future posts. short answer for now is that an RV rental trip, can easily cost less than traditional hotel, rental car and eat out at restaurant type travel. Still many variables to consider though. -M
RVLove | Marc & Julie Bennett that’s what I’m interested in. We have been considering an RV and my wife suggested renting one. The chain RV rental company has some generic looking RVs that seem really expensive. But one does have to consider costs like rental car, hotel and food. Would be an interesting comparison.

So true.
Could not even begin to get through this video.... oh my gosh! Way too many ads!
Didn't realize we had so many. They are usually skippable regardless. -M

hey guys greetings
Hello.
Well....maybe not one parking space after all.
It depends. If at the edge of a parking lot, or near an area that we can hang the tail out over something, it definitely fits in one space. But... yes, if no options for that, it is likely you will need two end to end. But still Vastly easier than we are used to with our big class A coaches. Thanks for watching. -M
@@Rvlove I had a 26 ft Coachmen for my wife and 5 kids. The most wonderful time of our life as the kids grew into adulthood and fostered very close ties for all. We traveled often to Maine and would do our annual shopping at Freeport and L.L. Bean. I always got a good parking space that hung out over a small drainage ditch and often saw large Lincolns sticking out beyond my front bumper. Easy to drive and park. Now in retirement living in Venice, FL and can attest to the beauty of our little town. We are considering doing the same to see alot of FL we have never visited in 45+ years. Thanks for your video.
👍👍😎
Thank you
Never do U-turns, or do a cut through in any vehicle...Other than that cringe worthy moment, I absolutely enjoyed your video!
Glad you enjoyed the video for the most part. Sorry it made you cringe when we did the U-turn. -M
Just want you both to be safe, and have many fun trips to share with us all!
Too many ads in a 30 minute video
Thanks for your feedback. Rare for us to do one this long. -M
Hey, is Julie Australian?
Yes, Julie is Australian. -M
Enjoyed the video but way too may commercials.
Sorry about that. I guess RUclips through on some extras being over 30 minutes. -M
Very hard to understand the wife's British accent.
It actually is an Australian accent, and a pretty mild one at that. Sorry it is difficult for you to understand. I guess some have more difficulty with accents than others. Most folks who comment tend to like her accent. Wishing you well. -M
If your feet are dangling you should not be driving that damn car you can cause a wreck add injure somebody because you're trying to make a freaking video
Too many commercials! I’ll never like or subscribe.
Ok. No worries. Wishing you well. -M
Winnebago doesn't even have a Trend anymore listed as a model! So this review is pretty useless.
We know that they only made them for a couple years, but would hardly consider the review useless. They produced them for a couple years, and there are many still out there. And... comments we make about this unit could easily educate others on what to look for on other units. Sorry to hear that you didn't find it as useful as we would imagine others will. We have tons of other reviews on our channel of more current models (not rentals) if you are looking for more current RV reviews. Thank you -M
Why is it useless? There are pre-owned Trend models for sale.
Also there are plenty of other models out there with a very similar layout. As a 6' tall single traveler, I think a corner bed layout is by far the best for me, as it's hard to find an 80" bed in most RV's under @250,000. So this review is very helpful. If it's comfortable and useable for two people, something similar should be even better for just me.
@@Rvlove I have been looking at class C's because they have more room. Rethinking that after watching this video. The looks like it would work well for my wife and I. Looks a lot easier to drive, park and get into and out of. Thanks.
It would be perfect for us 😔 I hope they make them in the future
Pile of garbage rental...
We actually thought it was a great rental. Wouldn't choose it as my full time RV, but was just about perfect for our two week trip. -M
Carpe Diem...pile of garbage comment.
