You both definitely got the gold that day! You with your buckle and tuna man with his coin.🎉 also many more awesome finds. Hope you were able to go back there! Many wonderful treasures. 😊
@@normaferro8054 thanks Norma! We both definitely feel very blessed. Gman was able to go back but unfortunately I was unable to join him. He found a lot more really cool stuff but no more gold.
That IS a great day of digging! I believe it too. We love the sidewalk tearouts for just that reason. I've only ever found 2 or 3 silver spoons but they are one of my fav finds
CONGRATULATIONS G-MAN TUNACAN !!!! And congrats on breaking your 14 yr old record Aaron. Gotta say the little rocking horse is an awesome find too. Many blessings to you both my friend.
Thanks Kevin! Several people have also said how much they like that little rocking horse. I like it too. I love the little knick-knacks you find detecting. Yes, that 14 year record was a long time coming. Thought i'd never break free. And, of course, Gman's gold coin will remain one of our most exciting hunts of all time
@@meandmyshadow6269 I once found 14 silver coins at an old school site in the boonies of Colorado. The school house was on my way to an artifact site and one day it was just gone. I asked the locals where it went and it was hauled away whole to be someones home. After about a month I finally found the land owner and got permission and still to this day it's been the best detecting site for me. I have a bunch of war nickels and rosies from there. Sadly I haven't been there in about ten yrs now. I believe the land is all houses now. Have a great day Aaron and again Congratulations to you both.
You really like that little horse? You might like to try metal detecting, honestly! You can find stuff like that frequently. Maybe you should come along some time!
Thanks Patrick! It was such a memorable day. I'm still excited thinking about it. I sure wish you would have been there with us. But I'm glad you got to see the video!
Thanks so much, David. Wish we would have had the whole crew assembled for that moment but I'm glad you can at least see the vid. You been detecting lately?
How exciting! Looks like you both had some great finds. As amazing as the gold coin is, the little rocking horse is my favorite (for obvious reasons lol). Thanks for another great video, Aaron!
Hannah, glad to hear from you! Been a while! I figured you'd like that little horse if you got a chance to see this video 😃 Thanks for watching! Shoot me an email sometime and drop me a line. I'm sure you're busy but I want to hear some updates on your horse shows!
Thank you! Hey, your channel has been around a long time! I think I remember you back years ago when I had my metal detecting channel. It was called TulsaPllTbFndr. I took the channel down years ago, regretfully. I still remember a lot of folks from the community though. Seems like you were one of them. Who knows, so many out there! Anyway, thanks for watching!
Right?! I tell you what, you don't leave any gold out there when Gman is on the job - he digs ALL those bad signals trying to find the REAL goodies and it paid off big. Dude is a digging machine. Always has been.
At one time somewhere in Oklahoma, there was an extremely angry dude. Now we have two happy ones 😂 I saw the eagle and knew instantly it was Deutsches. What a find Gman! Your vid made me want to try metal detecting again. I looked forward to this video since I saw your community post. Cant wait for the next one bro!
Well said! Yeah, I suspect there was a gold ring that it was attached to as well. Trust me, we swung the machines around meticulously looking for it. Twice actually. Dude, let me just tell you, Gman and I would literally do anything short of MURDER to be able to metal detect in an area like where you live. You guys have 100 times the history than we do and yours also goes back waaaaay further than ours. You really should get a detector. You'd get hooked. Takes a lot of patience and there's a learning curve but if you just keep at it and take the time to learn how your machine works, you will start finding stuff that would make us green with envy!
Good question! This is actually just a section of a very old neighborhood in our area. Most of our city history only goes back to the 1890s and turn of century and this neighborhood spans that time period. So the age of the place is what draws us to it. Most of the old city has been bulldozed and paved over years ago so the old spots are disappearing rapidly. We've been digging that general area off and on for a long time. We have found so many amazing relics there over the years. Nothing quite like a gold coin though! Thanks for watching!
Never understood why they added silver to the war time nickels, what ever, only gold coin I ever found was while I was surface looking for arrowheads, was dumbfounded and didn’t recognize it as a 10$ gold coin, pardon my ignorance. Lol😎😎😎
Man! That is a HECK of a surface find. I bet you were turning somersalts! I believe the nickel content was being used by the war dept because it was a good quality metal that was very hard, durable, and resistant to corrosion which made it good for military weaponry, munitions, and vehicles. Silver is very soft in comparison and was expendable compared to the nickel, I suppose. We'd probably use a different alloy today that's cheaper since silver prices are so high.
@@meandmyshadow6269With the higher prices of copper and pennies now made with mostly zinc, probably time to start hoarding cooper pennies, I need to dust off the detector 😎😎😎
Lolol, I REALLY appreciate that! I have as much fun editing as I do treasure hunting. It really does a lot for me when I hear someone also enjoys the videography and humor(attempted) aspect of my channel too. It's encouraging. Thank you!
Well, the melt value on just the gold weight alone would be about $250.00 on current prices. The collectible value on that specific type of coin is quite a bit higher but this particular coin has some significant issues on the headside where it once had epoxy or solder apparently. A good condition coin of that kind without the damage is going for anywhere from about 500 bucks up to a few thousand.
