I noticed people are having trouble placing the trim when the Eonon is in the dash. I didnt have to cut anything. It did require a bit of fiddling though. I placed the system and screwed the two screws in, but keep them loose so you can pull the nav out a bit. Then slide in the trim upside down (with the backside facing you). When its behind the Eonon try to turn the trim so it starts to face the right direction but not to much, leave some room so you can stick in a screwdriver and screw the screws down tight. Now the Eonon is tightly fitted and you can press down the trim into place. No need to trim or file anything. This is how i did it on my 2002 320ci automatic.
@@genadpapashvili7185 It has just as good sound as the OEM, the Eonen has much more options to tune the sound with a detailed equalizer. If you want more bass you’re going to need to replace your speakers or get a subwoofer. Because the Eonon can do more then the standard speakers allow.
@@JustGreen987 some have a small square locating tab approximately centre of the trim that prevents flipping it forward, I read somewhere that some pieces of trim don't have it.
@@lukebardolph8840 are you referring to the Head Unit or the BMW dash trim that goes above and behind the Head Unit and below the AC vents ? I'm confused with what the word "trim" you refer to. If it's the dash "trim" then you removed or cut a plastic tab section off and filed down the spikes? But then you say, "have to trim the tab," and so "trim" implies to cut the Head Unit, not the BMW trim (a part) that installs above and behind the Head Unit and below the air vents.
@@JustGreen987 the dash trim. Remove the tab (if present) and file or cut the spike down about 3/4 inch so it can enter the locating hole while rotating the trim, hope this helps.

I also had problems getting the trim back on, so I ended up not using the two screws for the vent/radio and left the radio out just a little until I could get the trim behind and the pushed the radio in all the way. It’s in and seems secure but not exactly great. If there is another way please let us all know here on this RUclips video. Ignoring the problem just makes thing worse and you will loose customers. I have not yet decided if I will send it back and get a different model.

Hi there, is the headunit compatible with the compact version of the e46 (2003)? My climate controls have turning knobs instead of only buttons and the storage box underneath is open (doesn't have a lid shown with the one in the video) you'll most likely will be able to find a picture of it on google, but i think they have the same dimensions overall.

Ich habe heute das Radio eingebaut jetzt gehen die Funk Schlüssel nicht mehr bzw wenn das Auto länger steht geht's kurz aber sobald das Auto startet bzw die Zündung geht der Funk der Schlüssel wieder nicht .... stört das Teil das Signal der Schlüssel so !???

The Bluetooth CarPlay sounds really good. I can’t seem to get it to connect with the usb but I don’t really care because the Bluetooth sounds good no wire is awesome . I would think direct would give you better audio but I can’t test it so I can’t say

My display has recently stopped turning on despite following all of the steps throughout. Everything is plugged in correctly, the screen just won’t display anything. I had the OEM radio plugged in and it worked fine. Can you help?

Hey Habe es mir gekauft allerdings funktioniert es nicht mit dem mitgelieferten kabelbaum. Hab einen anderen getestet damit läuft es aber es schaltet ab sobald ich lauter mache. Jemand ne Idee? Liegt es am kabelbaum/Adapter?

Very disappointed with this unit, where to begin....1. The so-called life time support is non existent, no live chat.. you send an email to the black hole. I work on my 2004 330ci E46 a lot, the install was pretty easy, I was impressed with the plug and play aspect. The unit looks amazing, it fits nicely and has a big screen. Had it for a few weeks and here are my issues. I have an image of a car that appears and disappears while using the unit, this blocks your Google Map. The Bluetooth connection is glitchy... on my short trips 20mins, it loses connection at least once of twice, it takes about 20 seconds to reboot.. again a nightmare when you using google maps. I really like the look and feel of this unit, but its too unreliable for me... and as I said previously the customer support is really poor... Any suggestions for another brand ??

I noticed people are having trouble placing the trim when the Eonon is in the dash. I didnt have to cut anything. It did require a bit of fiddling though. I placed the system and screwed the two screws in, but keep them loose so you can pull the nav out a bit. Then slide in the trim upside down (with the backside facing you). When its behind the Eonon try to turn the trim so it starts to face the right direction but not to much, leave some room so you can stick in a screwdriver and screw the screws down tight. Now the Eonon is tightly fitted and you can press down the trim into place. No need to trim or file anything. This is how i did it on my 2002 320ci automatic.

@@genadpapashvili7185 It has just as good sound as the OEM, the Eonen has much more options to tune the sound with a detailed equalizer. If you want more bass you’re going to need to replace your speakers or get a subwoofer. Because the Eonon can do more then the standard speakers allow.

@@JustGreen987 some have a small square locating tab approximately centre of the trim that prevents flipping it forward, I read somewhere that some pieces of trim don't have it.
@@lukebardolph8840 are you referring to the Head Unit or the BMW dash trim that goes above and behind the Head Unit and below the AC vents ? I'm confused with what the word "trim" you refer to. If it's the dash "trim" then you removed or cut a plastic tab section off and filed down the spikes? But then you say, "have to trim the tab," and so "trim" implies to cut the Head Unit, not the BMW trim (a part) that installs above and behind the Head Unit and below the air vents.
@@JustGreen987 the dash trim. Remove the tab (if present) and file or cut the spike down about 3/4 inch so it can enter the locating hole while rotating the trim, hope this helps.

Of course they don’t answer his question. There is no solution.
I also had problems getting the trim back on, so I ended up not using the two screws for the vent/radio and left the radio out just a little until I could get the trim behind and the pushed the radio in all the way. It’s in and seems secure but not exactly great. If there is another way please let us all know here on this RUclips video. Ignoring the problem just makes thing worse and you will loose customers. I have not yet decided if I will send it back and get a different model.

Why does my android auto screen not turn on? On my e46?
Hi there, is the headunit compatible with the compact version of the e46 (2003)? My climate controls have turning knobs instead of only buttons and the storage box underneath is open (doesn't have a lid shown with the one in the video) you'll most likely will be able to find a picture of it on google, but i think they have the same dimensions overall.

It sounds really good I love the EQ range and you car dial in the sound nicely. The Bluetooth CarPlay sounds really good. I can’t seem to get it to connect with the usb but I don’t really care because the Bluetooth sounds good no wire is awesome . I would think direct would give you better audio but I can’t test it so I can’t say

Very disappointed with this unit, where to begin....1. The so-called life time support is non existent, no live chat.. you send an email to the black hole. I work on my 2004 330ci E46 a lot, the install was pretty easy, I was impressed with the plug and play aspect. The unit looks amazing, it fits nicely and has a big screen. Had it for a few weeks and here are my issues. I have an image of a car that appears and disappears while using the unit, this blocks your Google Map. The Bluetooth connection is glitchy... on my short trips 20mins, it loses connection at least once of twice, it takes about 20 seconds to reboot.. again a nightmare when you using google maps. I really like the look and feel of this unit, but its too unreliable for me... and as I said previously the customer support is really poor... Any suggestions for another brand ??

also they are already sealed in the factory and imo is unneccasery to deconnect especially when you have so much room behind the unit with the new system.
