Great video, very helpful. We ship our equipment with a wifi router that allows USB teathering to a cell phone (for personal hot spot) or a dedicated hot spot. Short of using an Ewon or Tosibox to remote connect to a customers machine PLC, have you every tried to use a hotspot into a preconfigured router to access a remote machine? I would like to ship the machine with a method to communicate if an emergency arrises, but without the expense of installing a dedicated Ewon or Tosibox. Every played around with options like that? Thanks

It all depends on the network capabilities of the client in that case. If they have a wireless guest network you can get away with connecting over a $30 TP Link and being able to remote into that machine. The same goes if they're hooking up a wired connection to that machine for plant control / data - if they configure proper routing you should be able to remote in. If those aren't options, that's where the ewons come in. I'll make the comment having worked in larger facities that we'd often pull out the ewons from machines and just added them onto a plant network and gave the OEM access for maintenance as needed.

Yes, the GuardLogix can connect to the ControlLogix I/O rack over Ethernet/IP and will have full access to it through Studio 5000.

Phoenix Contact mGuard VPNs have a dry contact kill switch that must be activated to prevent entry. Enjoyed the presentation, thank you.

I need to get my hands on one of those. I saw their PowerPoint presentation, but never had a chance to experiment with one.

@@SolisPLC I’ve got two, haha and they have free cloud service to remote into them securely. Manage users, privileges, etc.

    Hello Sir,
I need your support to troubleshoot 1734-IE8C Allen Bradley analogue input card.
    Problem:
Our system was working very well more than 6months but we faced backup supply problem.
To troubleshoot the Backup Supply we turned ON and OFF our Panel many times after that our one input analogue card(Module4) not responded other working good, but modul4 showing solid red indication on all 8 channels.
    Field devices and wiring:
    1. All fields devices are ok and supplying 4-20mAmps.
    2. Terminal blocks are ok not fused/blown.
    3. Shifted faulty card belonging fields signal to the next module and they are working good on the next module.

We deploy remote accessibility to all of our systems. Even if the customer doesn't grant us access. At least it's there if ever they change there mind or if a support technician goes with a cellular connection
