      Yeah, Eteri needs to be investigated for severely unethical practices. This girl was conditioned in the sport the entirely wrong way, and is likely suffering from malnutrition. Pretty sure Eteri forces them on puberty blockers to keep them small and child like, claiming smaller bodies do better on the ice. And they do, *to a point.* There’s such a thing as being so small and frail that you can’t land any jumps for risk of breaking bones

    The cameraman shouldn't have recorded that moment, it wasn't part of his job and as for Sasha it's obvious that she was going to have a Mental Breakdown, after all breaking a record and making history was so that she could win, and if you read it says that everyone has gold except her, which is true because despite being an excellent skater she always wins second place.

    Imagine having a stress breakdown, being hugely disappointed, hungry as hell (Eteri didn’t let them eat or drink on competition days), and just in all being overwhelmed as hell not to mention scared of your coach and some random lady tries speaking to you in a different language, Alexandra did very well with that because I probably would've punched that lady 😂

    They should have let her do her free in the Teams. She would have gotten gold, and so would the rest of the Russian team after Camilla's qualification. Exactly. I get so many Russians saying the restore is unfair, but has they even had one of them skate with Valieca,they stayed Gold. There was no rule in this team event that one athlete disqualifies the whole team in the team event even though it should’ve been there

    • @mht4908
      @mht4908 9 месяцев назад +31

      They would've still lost by 1 point even if Sasha did the free (ROC originally had 74 shorts and the US had 65, so taking away Kamila's 10 points would mean the ROC is left with 64). The Russian team made a huge mistake by putting Kamila in the team event for both sections, it takes a lot of energy from the athlete, and considering she was the heavy favorite to win, why didn't they conserve her energy for singles? They only used 6 people when the other teams used 9, this would've conserved the energy especially for singles skaters. They could've let Anya do the short, and Sasha the free. That way (assuming the doping never happened), all 3 girls would leave as Olympic champions. Isn't that the point for all nations? To come home with as many Olympic champions as possible?

    Figure skating elitism is the absolute worst. She landed 5 quads in her silver medal routine. She's broken countless records yet doesn't have a single gold medal to show for it because she doesn't spin around and flail her arms enough. Ridiculous.

  • @gishena
    @gishena 10 месяцев назад +161

    For the people whod id not follow this closely - the Russian team had the same head coach to all skaters, i.e., the same woman who asked Valieva why she stopped trying while the latter was crying immediately after her FP blunder.
    Anyway, in the team's competition, they did not swap Valieva for Trusova, so Valieva initially got a gold medal. If they had 2 different skaters in the FP and SP, both of them would have won gold medals. In the end. only Anna got one, because Russia got DQ cuz of Valieva's drug test.
    Hope this helps!

    Trusova en las Olimpiadas 2022 realizó una hazaña que dudo que alguna patinadora de la ISU o de Rusia puedan hacer en las siguientes 4 Olimpiadas.
    Pero lamentablemente hacer 5 quads (algunos con errores), la caida del SP y los excelentes programas de Scherbakova, no permitieron que ella gane el Oro.
    Trusova no tiene una medalla de oro en el nivel senior, pero a pesar de eso ella fue considerada una de las mejores patinadoras, una de las mas fuertes, asi como la Patinadoras que inicio la Nueva era del Patinaje Artístico Femenino Mundial....

    I'm just sorry for her. Anna deserved that gold, and I would award all 3 russian girls gold if I could :') Because they were ALL so so good! The strongest team in a long while.
    I know it hurts to play second fiddle for so long, esp when you work so hard. She created history with 5 quads, but unfortunately lacked somewhere else. Her mentor did not provide her with the creative training to channel her passion and determination onto the ice. She encouraged her fixation on quads because she was the best at it.
    This is our problem as society. We don't teach kids how to accept failures. We make them fear it, pressure them to think that their life is over if they don't win. But Silver at freaking Olympics is GOOD! Cheer up, Trusova. You did your best :)

They promised her she would win if she landed 5 quads, a feat probably never done in women’s figure skating before this. She had a fantastic performance and then felt the heart wrenching disappointment from being beat by her also amazing teammate. She most likely felt betrayed even though it was neither of the girl’s faults, they both did amazing. There are speculations that both of them had connections to the olympic judges where it would be rigged to score them higher. Honestly that’s probably true considering we’re dealing with Russia. Probably everything that can happen... She stood under immense pressure the whole competition with only 17, with everything suround her slowly going downwards (the Valieva doping story and her not being chosen for the team event) and of course having her greatest dream at the tip of her finger, the gold medal and than have it slip through her fingers. On top the training methods of her trainers which left her physically and mentally exhausted (she and the other girls were probably starving) plus the pressure which build over the years released in one moment of despair. And the camera, once again, stands for it, declaring a "tragedy" for three young girls as a "drama."
