No undercarriage pictures are a red flag for me. I saw 2 40th LCs in Detroit at a used car dealer a couple of weeks ago and he wanted much much less for them. One of them is triple locked for $21k (some rust) the other is $16k non triple locked. Being patient and thorough always wins the prize. Great video. The dealer in Detroit is called “Top Gearz”.

Hey bud, love your break downs. I've watched a few very closely before taking the leap on a two tone '97 triple locked 80 series from BaT just the other day. Working on get her shipped over my way currently and would love to have your take on it. At 220k miles she's not the prettiest but with a little elbow grease and maintenance I think she'll fit in just fine. If you want any more details just let me know. Thanks! I definitely don't think they're getting what they're asking for it and I really wasn't a fan of the lack of undercarriage pics. So far it's been on their lot for almost 5 months.
Unfortunately not. On the road this week. A quick look at it indicates that this is the vehicle that I think of for my $30k rule of thumb for locked 80s with less than 200k.
Guys, they're not delusional.. They know exactly what they're doing.. they're waiting for that one person to take a misstep, fiance overs a couple of key details and trap em lol Unfortunately, if the dealer is patient enough, they'll catch that one person who was hasty and not diligent enough.
How do I contact you about a rare imported 80 Series (Turbo diesel) I found? I want to put a deposit down on it ASAP in case it’s a really good find… You seem like the person to get the best opinion from!

Yup - it's easy to move on. Seeing some of the indicators being rusty makes it even easier.

That is the wrong climate control for a 40th it should have a digital temp like the lexus not a slide.
I'm not sure that's correct. I don't recall seeing digital temp in any 80 series (Toyota or Lexus)
