What is Ridiculon's obsession with making the music in-game different? I swear every game they compose has two different soundtracks, one for in-game and one for the album.
That's actually something that _most_ composers for games do, especially for dynamic music -- the versions of music you hear in games is often altered from the album releases in order to loop better and/or more comfortably fit the tone of the game. They have to alter the _song_ to make it a _theme._
@@iskawhiskers i think youre half right, i think the reason is because ridiculon adds a layer which is a separate song/sound from the actual ost version, which is a separate audio file since if you did a glitch with the console it would play only the layer for the floor (this no longer works and just crashes the game).
@@icypk6190 ridiculon made two different themes for each alt floor. One that plays in rooms without enemies, and one that plays in rooms with enemies (combat theme). Plus the reverse tracks for downpour and dross. And they aren’t just another theme layered atop of the existing ones, they are different in instruments, style, and intensity.
@@icypk6190 I would say this is the reason, but when particular themes just cannot be heard the way in-game portrays them, like the strong electric guitars in this song, or the phase 1 theme of famine. There are just some discrepancies that don’t let you hear how the in-game tracks sound
If you're heading for Home, you'll need a teleporting item to escape the Mom boss room, as there's no doors out of it. There *should* be a Fool card that you can get by destroying a marked skull in Mausoleum/Gehenna 2 or Depths/Necropolis 2. If you have little baggy, don't worry, you can get a pre-identified Telepills out of the skull instead.
This might be the only song in the entire game that I actually prefer to not have a layer, the layered version feels kinda quiet unlike Morning Star's which is fuckin night and day in intensity. Despite this I feel this song is so much more fitting for the Mausoleum's occult theme and Repentance's much higher difficulty.

@@iskawhiskers my only complaint is that the album version of the gehenna theme doesnt have that loud siren thing

Man I just love those Roland drums... I noticed the Repentance soundtrack uses a ton of instruments that are from the Roland SC-88 series.
