Fun fact: the Fun is Infinite secret in Sonic CD isn't supposed to be creepy. It was actually supposed to be a joke. The name Majin is actually a nickname of the developer who does art for the game. The music is actually suppose to be the Japanese version of the boss theme which is a more cheerful and funky theme but since the US release has an entirely different soundtrack the music chances. The faces are supposed to be Majins Face but goofed up.
The Sonic CD easter egg was never meant to be creepy, when Sonic CD first released there was no US soundtrack, the image was accompanied by the JP boss music.
@@Sacrow It wasn't meant to be terrifying, rather it was a small joke made by the creators. The Japanese version has a different music that is more upbeat and exciting than the US version, which is the one you explained in the video.
It's a shame they butchered the deep, emotional and creepy Spanish folktale with a jumpscare filled movie that isn't in the slightest connected to The Conjuring universe. It was about a man who got a letter from who I believe is his uncle(I haven't played the game in years) which said that he needed help dealing with the ghosts at his mansion because his ghost machine broke. So our hero goes to the mansion, where we have to use the wii remote to collect pieces of objects to help the ghosts finds peace. 2:10 for such a well known creepy Easter Egg, it’s funny nobody seems to know that the American and Japanese/European soundtracks were completely different from each other, the Japanese Fun is Infinite screen had much more fun boss music, so the screen wasn’t made to be creepy, it’s just because the American version changed the music and either didn’t know or just didn’t second check this screen, so they wouldn’t have intentionally made it this way
Idk if you'll see this or if you've heard this from another comment, but I need to clear stuff up about the sonic cd fun is infinite one because I'm a nerd like that: 1: the Signing by the devil was found to be a mistranslation of "Madin," a nickname of one of the developers of the game 2: The music is a US release problem. In Japan, it plays the Japanese boss theme which makes the screen almost laughably non-scary.
The phone calls in Sims 2 I think also tied to sim abductions by aliens unless it was perfectly timed that my sim got abducted as soon as I got the call

In the dire dire docks section you showed footage of and talked about the eel in jolly Roger bay, just wanted to point that out. Also, "Majin" can mean devil, but it can also mean something less ominous, I don't remember exactly, and that was the game director's nickname at the time.
Earthbound actually has some unsettling stuff before you reach giygas, though he's by far the most disturbing and is still disturbing if you don't catch on to the abortion/rape/shadow Ness stuff. Tbf, no small child is going to reach him, especially since there are huge difficulty curves, the game is long as hell and it was never a hit with kids anyway. I played it as a kid (1st grade?) and I was already familiar with rpgs having gotten pretty far in ff3 (6 really but it was called 3 where I live). I still got stuck in that cave with all the mole bosses and later in the factory with master belch. I only rented the game, I didn't own it as a kid like I did ff3. I still remember being scared by some of the early game stuff, like the possessed people that attacked you with discolored faces and the happy happy cult. I was easily scared then so giygas would have given me nightmares. I didn't beat the game until I was like 18

17:10 I found that unintentionally. I couldn't figure out how to escape the jail cell, so I gave up, saved, and quit. When I returned, all I thought was, "What the hell happened?"
1:00 what's the soundtrack in the background?
The piano in between is very light and happy but when put in this context it becomes creepy, funny how that works.
it's just plain creepy to me
In the dire dire docks section you showed footage of and talked about the eel in jolly Roger bay, just wanted to point that out. Also, "Majin" can mean devil, but it can also mean something less ominous, I don't remember exactly, and that was the game director's nickname at the time.

holy shit that lisp
Seriously dudes such a geek its so unbelievable
Ur just like him clown
I didn't beat the game until I was like 18
Earthbound is definitely a super dark game. I’m surprised Nintendo let a lot of the dark stuff in the game
I'll be waiting for the entire kirby lore to be displayed here, okey?

7:36 I agree. As a kid that scared the shiz out of me
The true first jump scare for many.
