    You would think the people filming this, but understand that golfers are more interested in seeing the actual execution of the mechanics, rather than some far view, showing where the ball ends up. At the very least cut to that at the end. Not a single take showing the mechanics of the shot in detail when the ball is actually struck. Brutal.

    Genius camera work and editing showing him actually execute the shot while he looks like an ant on the screen it’s so far away.

    Wow Thai spinner. I couldn’t be happier to see this shot playing at the very big stage of golf event. Thamanoon Sriroch is the originator of the shot. I know the guy and used to play with him a few rounds at his home course. For sure I did lose some money to him even though he gave me a -1 each hole of the par5s and par4s.

      Yup. I'm thinking PW normal chip shot.😂. The trickiest shot I ever try around greens is a flop shot or a deloft LW spinner... bounce bounce stop. But I gotta be hitting the ball really saucy that day.

    It's Thai professional golfer Thammanoon Sriroj's signature shot. He calls it "Yae Long Roo" (Leliolepis crawls to its hole) since the ball would stay run on the green toward the hole like a magnet! 😅 thanks for sharing this.

    Errr, why would you even attempt this shot? For what reason, purpose? There’s a hundred other plays around the green you can execute without the downside! What a dope thing to consider!

    This shot makes as much sense as the “Paul Bunyan Zippity-Do-Da” shot. With the ball on the fringe of the putting green, strike down on the ball with the back side of your pitching wedge. The swing looks like you’re using enough force to split a log with an axe. The ball compresses into the ground but squirts out toward the hole. I’ve almost used this in competition a couple of times but was so nervous I had to back off.

    Learned this shot last night & it worked for me today getting it out the very tall rough. Ball had enough speed & spin to get out of the rough and roll its way onto the green for a par putt.
    Wouldn’t count on this every time but the more tricks you know the better

    You talk about using it to get out of the rough and then demonstrate it on a clean fringe? I would personally LOVE to see you using it from the rough! Either down a fairway somewhere or as an approach to the green. Cheers from NZ. :-)

    • @squirrelprooffeeder
      @squirrelprooffeeder 2 месяца назад

      The primary example he gave (of a situation in which he might use the shot) would be if he was "up against the grass" (2:13) -- that is, a ridge of rough close behind the ball, not the ball actually being IN the rough. So a steep angle of attack would be necessary -- a regular shallow approach would be blocked by the ridge of the transition between cuts (between the first cut, the "clean fringe" on which the ball would be sitting) and the slightly taller grass just behind it.

    Seems kinda high-risk to hit the ball on such a steep descending angle. If you dont catch it just right, that ball is gonna go 50 feet, or 14 inches. From that lie, and that distance, putting is the only play, in my opinion.

Then you can replay the roll out shot. I'm an editor and a golfer can I apply for this job?! I'm not kidding.
