Seeing how each one of the band is really into it, just gave me an immense rush of joy and energy ^^
Everyone is so tight, great bass lines, synth, insane guitar tone and great melodies. This band is the real deal.
KEXP is a treasure. Lived in Seattle for 20 years, and being able to tune into a station like that while being stuck in awful traffic was a gift.
Gotta do a live in-studio someday...its on the short list of must do's!
I wish I could be stuck in a traffic jam listening to kexp after work every day. You are blessed.
KEXP is hands down the thing I miss most about living in Seattle. Still watch the YT videos and listen on the website, but I miss having it on the radio so much!

When a band is "good" or has "the right stuff" it is immediately apparent even on this first listen, which this was for me. Exceptional vocals.
Just accidentally came across this video on RUclips. Never heard of this band, but I did notice your comment and decided to give them a few minutes of my time because I generally agree with what you said and based on what you said, I figured that there is a good chance I might like this.....

Best, most underrated band going right now, imo. Also clearly feeling pretty emotional when doing this performance which makes it even more special.

their sound is dope as hell
A lot is said about how great the engineers and sound people are at KEXP - and it's true. But something I really love is that, unlike music videos and concerts, we're not being hit over the head with cuts and different camera angles every .8 seconds. Every live concert I try to watch seems to be made for people with severe attention defecit disorder OR they want to show off how many cameras they have and how quick they can switch between them, making the concerts completely unwatchable. But not KEXP - we can actually take it in and enjoy what we are seeing.
There are plenty of quick cuts here, but they tend to be *required* to show us what we would naturally be wanting to look at. Tastefully restrained.
Shot changes almost every 5 seconds or less. A ton of quick cuts in this video.
@@pdxyyz I guess that's what I now think of as NOT eing over-edited. Take a look at any random live American cocert video and it's barely a second or two. I try to watch any Chili Peppers video (only with Frusciante) and it's impossible.

Made it to the show the next day at the showbox. Hell of a return to live music. What a rush. Love these guys.

In my top 5 active bands. Not a single bad song on any of their records. Saw them twice in Columbus OH and their shows are sooo good. Also, Peter is a beast drummer whose enthusiasm multiplies the energy at shows. Glad they are getting more and more recognition.

Amazing how many people in the comments are hearing them for the first time - severely underrated and they should be selling out venues double the size of what they are playing. Still hands down best album of last year (and there are a ton of good ones from last year) and even a better band live.
Im one of the people just discovering them now. I hope I get to see them at a small venue, cuz selling out theatres is certainly where theyre headed.
Not the first time hearing them, but I keep revisiting because they're so amazing. They really are so underrated. I feel like they need to play on SNL or a late night show or something and their fanbase would explode.
I saw them open for Joseph in Portland about 5 years ago and was blown away!
I have listened to "Eyes Are Red" so many times and have never gotten tired of that guitar solo. Amazing job from the band.

Met Jessica at the hotel after PJ gig. Had a chat in the elevator. Very gracious. They killed both night in St Paul! I'll definitely go see them if they come to Boston
Sometimes all you need is a great rhythm section. The bass and drums are so tight. The bass lines are priceless.

Can't stop watching this. The energy of great drummers never translates fully through video, and Peter looks like he'd blow up the room live. Definitely hope to see them come to California.
Probably my 12th or 13th time here for this. Just one of the best performances I've seen on KEXP. This energy is contagious and inspirational.
Back at it, just cant get enough of this performance.

As someone who was a big fan of alternative " pop" music (from punk to Americana) who gave it up for old and new "classical" music about 20 years ago, hearing a band like this with songs like these reminds me of what makes rock 'n' roll revelatory.
I'm rewatching this. It's only getting better with every view. Really tight band, great compositions, lovely details in the songs, great guitar sound and excellent vocal performances!
This was a gift given to those who couldn't see them live.
Who runs the audio mix… give that person a raise! The sound is incredible and I was introduced to DSD when they opened for Joseph in Feb2020 and I was hooked. Incredible band.

Wow. I haven't heard a band this sonically rich AND chock-full of catchy pop hooks since DIIV's second album back in 2016. I'm absolutely blown away right now.
kexp: “what are your prerequisites, guys?” - Jessica: “I need my own little box shaped stage I can play solos on. It’ll be epic!”
I'm so glad we're getting full sets again from the Studio and to have those sets include such talented artists... I'm transported.
Incredible performance, the whole set is rock-solid. Deep Sea Diver is one of the best bands out there, no doubt about it.

Fresh, new! I like the interaction between the guitars, the great synth work, bass and drums are perfect, multi talented musicianship, vocals are spot on. Full sound, great dynamics, tight.
