Just out of curiosity, did your roof have the fixed points covered entirely and have to cut some access trim off? Or did the fixed points come with a semi lid allowing it to be able to be opened with your finger or tool and place the rack on top?

we ended up going with Freektune for our baby... because it's my daily driver ( or should I say our ) they gave us a real nice tune for a modest 350 hp ..for the SPD 3..I'm pretty sure hopefully we will get her into the 400bhp range soon.

I own a gen1 and am making the same amount of horse with way less mods. I also can't stand how he's got it modded. Why would you want all the popping? I live in Indiana and I have no idea what your laws are, but mine is straight piped and it sounds really good and does a low grumbling pop when I'm slowing down. That much popping sounds ridiculous. I would have to recommend looking at putting RX-8 rims on a gen1. I'm super against taking stock parts from other cars and putting them on a different car, but it looks really really good. My car is black and has gray powder coat rx-8 rims.

Easily the best mod for this car. Night and day difference in handling. I installed the JBR rear sway on the middle setting and goodbye understeer.

I have a 2010 speed and i am also looking into 285-300whp build, i am looking for a simple and affordable modding to get there, so far i was thinking to get a downpipe or racepipe (?), hpfp upgrade, turbo inlet. I do have a rmm upgrade, and cobb SRI but i guess this intake wont be enough? And prehaps a tmic or catback would be necessary? Then finally a freektune at 91 oct. What do you think?

Yeah get rid of stratified. I used to have them and I switched to freektune when I went big turbo and it’s insanely better.

You can change to a front mount intercooler but you need an intercooler lol

BMSpec shutdown their selling services, you'll have to find one that's from a different supplier.
Please don’t ever recommend stratified. They’re probably one of the worst tuners for the Speed 3 platform lmao. Freektune, Hypnotic and purple drank are the go-to tuners. They could make his car run so much healthier.

Why? I have Stratified E40 tune on my Speed6. I had Cobb OTS tune which wasn't impressive & is all I can compare it too. I will say I'm not overly impressed & expected more. Please, educate me before I spend more $$ for a better tune from them.

I fully agree. Went through 8 revisions with Stratified and still wasnt good. Ended up with 13 afr at WOT. Got a tune off my friends APV3 from Freektune and it ran perfect.
Currently being tuned by stratified with a bnrs3 and the car runs basically stock. Slower then my personal tune I wrote with a shit k04. Plus crackle kills your pistons

Get it dyno'd, Cobb OTS for Speed 3's make less if anything, very poorly put together tune in words from the Mazda community
@@ColtonRichter a common baseline is 230-240 wheel and cobb says the tune is good for 33% above stock. Do the math bud
Cobb says, where's the dyno? I've driven first hand, the Cobb OTS tunes are a lot more sluggish than the factory tune the MazdaSpeeds sit on...

I highly highly doubt that car makes 300 on that garbage crackle tune. Stratified is absolute trash, and all those "mods" and still has a stock top mount....
I mean if you want me to send you the dyno chart to prove it, i'm more than willing :)
