i would get it done from an experienced surgeon with a good track record. Also, its easy to get hit and have it go back into deviation. I would get the surgery if youre not looking to do rough contact sports. Even basketball can be dangerous. protect your nose at all costs!

This surgery ruined my health. Most people don't even need the surgery. Look it up online: about 80 percent of people have a deviated septum. But 80 percent of people don't have congestion. So, just because you have a deviated septum doesn't mean it's causing your sinus problems. There are several other things that can cause breathing issues. This surgery can cause nasal nerve pain, worse breathing problems, vision problems, and Trigeminal Neuralgia.

Most people have a deviation to some degree. Even if you have a deviated septum, it doesn't mean that is the cause of your breathing issues. There could be other things causing your problems that can be treated without surgery. Always try to fix your medical problems in other ways before just casually going under the knife.

I received a painkiller to reduce the pain and the worst part was the post-care 😭 The doctor instructed me to clean my nose using saline water with a pump bottle to get rid of the blood clot . I have a deviated septum and I will often get stuffy when lying down and can't breathe through one of my nasal cavities. I also always have a slightly runny nose especially when its cold. Are these symptoms that would warrant surgery? Also, the side of my nose where the septum veers to (left nostril) is slightly convex. Whereas the right side of my nose is slightly concave. Would surgery correct this asymmetry, making the convex side more concave like the right side?

However, people don’t really care about it because everyone’s noses are different. So, try your best not to feel insecure about it cuz many have a deviated septum and many people have other things to focus rather than the shape of your nose

There is a thing called nasal cycle. What it does is, throughout the day one of your nostrils will be slightly obstructed than the other. This actually helps you to smell a wide range of things. But if you have a significant nasal obstruction making breathing difficult, then you should consult a medical practitioner.

Somehow my cartilage feels so nonexistent and my nose feels weaker, softer & smaller in size gradually over years of a deviated septum. I also cannot breathe with 2noses because when i breath 1 nose closes down automatically, will have surgery next month. I hope it can recover.

Not sure if I have this, but think I do. If I look at my nose from below with a camera, one of my nostrils looks a much narrower opening than the other. If I also feel the inside of my left nostril, I have a bump/lump on my upper nasal wall, against the center. If I feel it and push my nose so it has even openings on both sides, the lump reduces.
I was worried it was a tumour, but I think it's this. I also have started getting mild sore throats. Does this sound like DNS?

You could probably look up ways to improve facial posture and that would help to fix it. Also dont worry if you have a stuffy nose as this will be caused by something else entirely like having the cold.

I fainted for the fist time in my life this summer. Fell on the floor and really hurt my nose. It looks and feels normal, but sometimes when I press lightly on it it makes a click. A very very faint click that doesn't hurt. I wondered what happened. The clicking won't go away, it's been 6 months since I fell
