She is so exciting to hear and watch and so well dressed. Sings with passion.❤❤❤
Hi Natalia. Thank you so much for reacting to Courtney's Happy Xmas (War is Over). I really enjoyed it.
Courtney chose to release this specific song for Christmas 2020 because she thought it was the only song appropriate for the times. She felt that 2020 had been a very tough year and that everyone needed some healing and she wanted to do her part in that healing. You were spot on in your observations. Courtney kept the appropriate somberness and seriousness of the message. However, unlike the original Lennon version, which was a song of despair, Courtney totally flipped the essence of the song and turned it in to one of hope for the new year. Something the world really needs now.
IMO, nobody can reach out and touch your heart and soul like Courtney can when she sings. She brings so much passion and rawness to her voice, that I can feel every nuance of the emotion she is trying to convey throughout this performance. As much as I like the Lennon original, he doesn't come close to doing that for me. The message is there, but the emotional connection isn't. Whereas, with Courtney, she creates that emotional connection or bond with her listeners and is able to touch them very deeply with the message of this song. This rendition has become my favorite Christmas song and has been playing almost on loop in my household this Christmas season. It is not only Courtney's absolutely beautiful voice that has vaulted this song past all others for me, although that is indisputable, it is also the authenticity and genuineness with which she delivers the song that makes the song so special. I can see this rendition ultimately going on to become a timeless Christmas classic.
Yes, this is the grown up version of the 13 year old that rocked the stage at America's Got Talent. Courtney is, and always will, probably be a rocker first at heart, but the music world has learned so much about Courtney in the last two to three years, especially those who knew her only from AGT. We have learned that she has one of the most versatile voices in music. She can transition seamlessly between rock, R&B, funk, soul and ballads without a bit of a loss to any of the excellence in her music. She has also become an incredible guitarist over the last year or so and her song writing skills are just incredible. We have also seen that her creativity is off the charts. Any cover Courtney sings will never be like the original. She will always have her vision of how a song can be performed. She will never mimic anyone. The result is, combining her unparalleled singing ability, in conjunction with her unmatched creativity, has led to amazing and unbelievable, as well as surprising (in a good way) renditions of some of the most popular songs in current music.
I have put a link to Courtney's channel below where you can find incredible songs across many genres, to give you an idea of what Courtney can do with her vocal versatility. I would suggest several as prime future reaction candidates including 'Old Town Road', 'Someone You Loved' and 'What's Love Got To Do With It'.

That is perfectly written and so to the point I think she is totally UNIQUE....I'm a huge fan 🐶🎸🎸🎶🎶🎸😍
Edward as always I enjoyed your detailed comment, personally I love the way some of Courtney’s songs start off in a breathy type of way with the words very softly spoken knowing that she will undoubtably build up to incredible powerful voice, for me Courtney can do no wrong and in these lockdown times and living alone as I do, Courtney gets me through each day.
Thank You for not pausing or interrupting 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
What a nice and thoughtful reaction to Courtney. She is still developing, she still has vocal lessons each week. She does look at reaction videos so she may well take your comments on board. 2021 will be her year I am sure. Thank you for this and Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
Great Reaction and Thank you for all the great reactions.......Happy Holiday's and Be Safe
She has grown a lot since bgt/agt a different style voice
Awesome reaction, we love Courtney's HappyXmas too.
Courtney performed at Carnagie Hall, on April 29th 2024. She was invited by clive Davis, who had received phone calls from Simon Cowel and Howie Mandel, telling him of her A.G.T, appearance. Apparnetly, he was so impressed he invited her to open the show. She sang Janis Joplin's "Another Peace Of My Heart", and got a standing ovation.
I don't know if there is a professional video of the show but I did watch a video of her performance but the quality wasn't great but you could still feel the power of her voice, which btw, is just so beautiful. Her range and vocal control are, in my opinion, just out of this universe. I can't think of another singer or performer that is anywhere near to Courtny's stage presence and powerful appearences.
If you can find the video of her singing at Carnagie Hall, please react to it, it is worth it. Just remember the sound quality isn't the best.
Also, check out all of her tiktok clips and you'll again see her unmatched vocal range.
From Chris.
Most singers Courtney 's age are supper club style singers. Courtney's voice has power and projection. She drives the music to the soul.
A Courtney é incrível....bela voz!❤❤❤❤
Thanks, Natalia, for this reaction to Courtney. I also appreciate your noting "it's a matter of taste" and that the breathiness is a characteristic of rock genre. I loved its earthiness when Elvis did it and now with Courtney, who I believe is progressing to superstardom. She definitely is different from the norm and traditional singing, but this is what makes her unique and appealing. For some variety in her performances, I hope you will react to the songs in her channel link given by Edward!
Well said Rick, Many people and some coaches don't understand how rock was done back in the 50's, 60,s and 70's. Perfection in vocals would not give that rock effect. Syncopation gets accented using your heavy breath without even knowing it as a rock singer. Perfect example is when Courtney sings and performs "Sucker" ruclips.net/video/iF53gkY0JiM/видео.html at 2 minute and 15 second mark on "Sucker". Without that you loose a great part of that performance that gets people excited, especially those who aren't used to how rock was performed by so many greats back in the day. It's just like some signature moves that Elvis did with his body in a way. Courtney has that in a few different ways with her vocal style and dance moves, like all the greats. It's all part of the attitude in a performance, I think. I know, you know what I mean. I just wish more people from today's generation got that. Sometimes people get so programmed with what you grow up with that they can't accept something they don't see everyday. Natalia gets it obvious, and she explains it in her point of view from today's vocal coaching style. If I remember right, some of my singing buddies started taking lessons from vocal coaches in the later 70's or early 80's. Prior to that I never knew of anyone having a vocal coach for singing rock. Other genres yes. But not so much rock. I think that's when rock changed from rock n roll 50's and 60's style to the 80's style with bands like Boston, Journey, even Queen. More perfect singers. The bluesy rock singing began to faze out some, to my disappointment. Some music lost it's roots to make you want to get up and dance. It was still around, but not as dominant for me. Like I said above, change can be so hard to accept. lol
Love my own comment so I had to like. Couldn't help but toot my own horn. I said this. Way to go.
Merry Christmas Ms.Natalia and Prosperous New Year..
You look amazing Merry X'mas and a Prosperous New Year beautiful Natalia, I love this song just sing it in my shower😁 have a wonderful day!!
Siempre bella. Y su fabulosa voz suena bien en cualquier género musical. Espero que sigæs creciendo y nos dés más y más1 .
Thank you for the reaction, Natalia! Agree with you that this young lady's vibe, musicality, voice, etc. is taking her to BIG places.
Last year, at only age 14, Courtney released 4-cover songs as a mini-album, "Cover Sessions" and it was professionally recorded and videoed live. The four songs were very popular tunes: 🔥 SIGN OF THE TIMES by Harry Styles, 🔥 SOMEONE YOU LOVED by Lewis Capaldi, 🔥 SUCKER by the Jonas Brothers and 🔥 OLD DOWN ROAD by Lil Nas X. It would be wonderful if you could react to one (whichever is your favorite), or more of these songs. They were professionally done in a studio and I feel you'd really enjoy these - THANK YOU!!!! 🙏
Seeing how your voice teacher I would love to see you do her cover up someone you love or sign the times by the way as I'm talking to you she's on flight heading to Pittsburgh she signed with a new label and she's trying to finish up her album so God be with her let's get that album out girl thank you
Have you ever suggested this to Courtney herself. I have found that she is very open to correction, which makes her even more of an artist. Excellent job!!!!!!!!!
You should check out her cover album. Personally I think you should check out her covers of Old Town Road and Sign of the Times (and then the other two). She put out the album at the end of 2019. She uses that "breathy" sound in her songs because I believe she really strives for change and variety in her songs.
NATALIA 🎄❤️ love 💫✨✨✨✨🎁
Christmas songs are not her forte but she took this Christmas song made it her own like our Rocker Queen does. You got to react to her quarantine cover of Tina Turner's (What's Love Got To Do With It). If you haven't seen any of her music sense AGT you will be amazed.
👍👍👍✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️💖💖💖💖💖💖
Please Please do yourself a favor and listen to her singing Love Hurts. (EDIT: the Miss Li song not Nazareths Love Hurts) Now what you should know is that her fans on an Instagram live stream were begging her to cover this and she admitted that she already had. After some cajoling they managed to get her to find the recording she had on her laptop and play it so what you are hearing is a recording on a laptop, live streamed and then recorded by one of her fans during that stream on their phone and uploaded to RUclips. To me it makes it sound as though it authentically came from the 1960's early 70's. It is absolutely amazing and IMO the best thing she has done so far bar none.

That was awesome. Love how Courtney sings. She's so unique with her vocals. As a coach I could see how you would like to see certain things in singers. And understand your points. I also love that you explained your own preferences as a coach, but yet also love her style and sound from where her roots come from.
For me and I know most of her fans, I hope Courtney doesn't sing the way most other talented young singers do. My hope is she holds on to that style she has even if it's not perfect. If you haven't listened to her other ballad styles, please have a listen to these.

I actually prefer when she sings rock and goes all out on stage, but I also love her ballads styles too. Like I said, love your critique. Love the fact that you get your feelings out on one hand, yet also point out your opinion on what you feel she could improve on, but at the same time let us know it's how you feel because of your own roots as a coach. She has a very well known coach in the UK and she says she likes to work with the style Courtney likes to sing with and not take anything away from that. Courtney has definitely improved on her technique since she has been her coach. I just hope she doesn't improve so much that it's no longer Courtney. I'm sure you know rock has very few technically correct singers who can actually sound great for that genre while being technically correct. Steve Perry of Journey and Freddy Mercury of Queen are in the minority with that genre but neither or them are really wailers like Courtney. Because of that I've never followed those bands growing up. I always gravitated to bluesy, belters who knew how to entertain the crowd and put on a great show. Courtney certainly knows how to do both. If you hear more of her music, you'll be impressed how she adapts to blues, rock, ballads and even pop at times. She has a very quick vibrato I've notice since her AGT days. That's the biggest difference I notice today in her singing. This song she doesn't hold the note counts to hear that vibrato as much as she does in other ballads she sings. To me she does this on purpose with this song to send a message of sadness when the song needs it. One thing about her is she is very deliberate with minute details. She knows how she wants to sound. Thanks for a long awaited reaction to her and hope to hear another one soon.
Excellent commentary, as usual, Bert!
🕊💌😌💐
The original of this was by John Lennon. I think she did a pretty good cover of this classic.
