Best video that explains the benefits of both options. If people want the factory look and get some more sound out of it. This is the video. Well done brother.
Yes, this will cause the turbo to stop spinning rapidly and shudder back and forth, that's the noise you hear when it happens. Will this damage you're car? 98% probably not. This does cause a rapid increase in pressure inside of the intake components, however the stock plastic components are more then up to the task, If your plastics are old and weaker, you could run into problems. Upgraded metal intakes will likely never see an issue from doing this. In regards to damage to you're turbo, they sit on bearing's, which spin freely in any direction with minimal friction, and thus also wont be damaged. When people say this COULD damage you're car, their not wrong, it could, but it probably wont. (im an engineer btw, worked on exhaust systems for the huge 16 cylinder engines that power many of the locomotives employed by companies like PacificNational and Aurizon)
@@Noppafemma no it doesn't cause any sort of issues or lights on the dash. All its doing is stopping the forced air to escape. So it goes back the other way. The "BOV" on a Barra isn't actually a bov, its a re circulation valve
hey mate ive had a bf xr6t 2.5 for about 4 years but cant seem to get it to dose, ive removed the entire bov and blocked both holes on the stock crossover pipe with doorstops and also blocked the little airline at the very back of the engine with a bolt but it still wont dose it just lets out one big gush of air pssshhhh instead of sututututu i dont know what im doing wrong, have you got any advice please pal?
Yes mate you are right and wrong. My catch can is designed for one inlet and one outlet. If I had one that had a filter, another inlet and vented I could run both. I waited 3-4 months for that catch can from Johnny Tig, so i'm gonna use it ahaha
Hey I have the same intune motorsports throttle body pipe, mine had alot of really bad dags and pitting in it that I had to die grind out to make smooth. I also got intune motorsports intercooler piping kit for my fgx that they said would fit straight on and suit process west stg2 cooler. It was terrible and I had to cut and shut it and get engineer to alloy weld back together, and inside the ends where the barbs had been formed there were nasty sharp bits and dags that I die grinded out as well, I was not impressed. Good vids man, keep it up, how is the new turbo going?
@@farmer3242 Thanks for the feedback on your experiences mate! You really do get what you pay for hey... In my intercooler video, as I said I was very happy with Process West's kit and it all married up very nice. Good feedback for others out there. Appreciate your support mate. Hopefully we will have the new turbo on soon. Waiting for the Skyline to be fully sold, then it will be game on! Will do up a in-depth video on that one as I'm sure many people will be interested. Very keen!
That's why the pros run a b.o.v it's there for a purpose or it wouldn't be there. But hey you sound like you're more skilled and researched then turbosmart and all the innovative engineering mobs that make them 😂
