    Really enjoyed the video! We have a couple dozen, some striped and some black, in a planted tank. We gave them lots of caves & hiding places but we still see them a lot. They feel more comfortable being out in the open when they know that there's a place to hide close by. They are such fun fish with lots of personality.

    I just got two yesterday and although I put some filter floss over my HOB intake, one still got in and unfortunately died. I think he managed to swim into the outtake... I've lowered the water level, put mesh over the intake and lowered the flow rate - hopefully the other one does okay and can get him some mates.

    • @TropicalFishGuy
      @TropicalFishGuy  4 года назад +2

      Yeah, They are good at getting themselves caught in filters. What I do is use a sponge over my HOB filter so they don't get sucked in and I don't have to lower the flow rate: amzn.to/2Z7weiJ

    I have 3 kuhli loaches and they are always hiding. In fact, I thought the goldfish had eaten theme when they were in my 55 gallon but they came out when they were moved to my 125 gallon. Would they be more active if I got 3 more more kuhli loaches?

    • @TropicalFishGuy
      @TropicalFishGuy  3 года назад +3

      Probably not. Kuhli loaches are nocturnal and come out at night. You might see them more when you turn off the tank light but keep the room light on. That's when I see mine mostly. sometimes they come out during the day but rarely. I would also keep some plants like pearl weed in the tank. They seem to like hiding in it.

    One of my favorite fish in my community. I had 2# dojo loaches for 7yrs that passed away on me .I got #2 banded kuhli loaches( all I could find a rarity here) I never see'em until I vacuum my substrate 🤞hopefully they're still alive ,makes me worry. Community consist of # 2 koi angelfish # 4 tetras # 4 dalmatian Molly's # 3 sunburst platy's # 5 panda corys # 2 apple snails & one glass fish . 250 gallon aquarium for my community & have a 45 gallon quarantine tank . My question is?? am I doing something wrong because they hide all the time & water parameter is close to perfect IDK 🤔. Appreciate the helpful information truly. Maybe up the numbers & get a few more loaches guess any advice would be appreciated. Thanks my friend Salute 🎬💯👍P.s sorry for the S.A extremely long comment

      Sounds like you’re doing all the right things. Yes they are shy and you won’t see them much. On some tanks I forgot they are there until one day I see them and remember how cool they are. They like to hide so that is a downside. Thanks for watching and sharing!

I have 3 kuhli loaches in my quarantine tank. My question is I feed once a day in the morning bug bites. If i drop a veggie round, won't the other fish eat it? won't that over feed? or are you saying feed them one or the other?.
