Good afternoon, Great build and fabulous job on the Z. I’m a nut for second genz, but really dig the 70. There’s always been some chatter about firewall markings on these cars. Especially the LA cars. Did you guys notice the firewall markings on the body after dipping it? From first hand experience, if you’re not looking for them, they can go unnoticed. In the video at 5:18, you can see them. Pretty cool. I did get some great ideas from your build. I really liked the way you hung the parts on those roller racks. I built a couple. Thanks, and take care.
My dad is the original owner of a 1970 1/2 Z28. He decided to do a bunch of custom work to it in the late 80s and early 90s. Everything I know about cars is from watching him take that car apart and put it back together.
Did you keep track of the total man hours that went into this restoration? I restored a 1972 Camaro SS in my 2 car garage back in 89-91 so took me 3 years. I didn't go to quite the extreme you guys went through but almost. I did every thing myself except the paint job and the upholstery on the seats. It is a lot of work. Back then there were still a lot of OEM parts you could buy for them at the dealer. Also the salvage yards around here still had quite a few so if you needed an odd bracket or obscure piece you could usually find one there. And back then all we had was Hemmings Motor News to find people selling NOS parts. There was no internet. I found a complete OEM exhaust system on Hemmings. I would go to the book store every month and buy a new Hemmings. I still have the car.
Ouch the "A" Pillar section where it mates up with the lower cowl & the Rocker Panel used to suck to repair. Now there is a 3 piece replacement. I had to replace mine. So much easier than having to fab up the pieces.
Yea my grandpa tore down his ‘72 RS SS and rebuilt a good chunk of it. Think he made the rear fenders stick out more and made a custom hood, which he made both by hand.
You show the build sheet that was on the gas tank. Lower left side would have the dealer it was delivered to. Can you tell me what dealer it was? Also on the right side below what you show, if it was a customer order, it would be printed Customer Order. Just curious if it was a customer order. Thanks and great job saving a Camaro.
I pulled up the photos and unfortunately the sheet is too dirty and wrinkled to be able to tell, and it was so fragile we did't want to attempt to clean/straighten it.
i can build you one, got a clean straight no rust 2nd gen body right now been soda blasted and silver on it right now, going to do a new paint job can build it any design special or stock looking while being special, special cars only.
Has anyone out the come across a gen 2 with wrinkles in the middle of the firewall? Right above the tunnel I have four long wrinkles. It looks like the car was twisted. There are a few on the tunnel behind where the shifter is bolted on.
Damn dude. Just buy a late model Camaro ZR1 and call it done. You get all the benefits of a late model car with stupendous performance. I will admit your project looks pretty good though.
I had a 70, 73 and 74 back in the day.
I have had over 50 cars and these Z/28's are the only cars I miss.
Congratulations to you and your crew on the beautiful nut and bolt restoration if this Camaro RS/Z28. My hat goes off to you all. Well done.
Looks like an incredible amount of work these guys did, now I know why fully restored ones are expensive
Very impressive- masterful.
I've never seen anybody have such an intimate relationship with the Camaro. Congratulations.
What magnificent workmanship

You guys did a beautiful factory restoration. Looks like it just rolled off the factory line!!

WOW!Commendable job. Better than original
Love it great work guys…not fan of the wheels but it looks original I get it
Before this i was never a fan of tan ! But now i am ! Awsome job !
Y'all are awesome! High quality builds. The handcraft skills are amazing🍻
Outrageously beautiful
great work guys but you had a very solid car to work with great build
Wow great job 👏
Really nice work you guys do.
Awesome job!
Now that's a paint booth...
This is motivation for mine’s thx😉
I own a 71...
A Narrowed rear-end with tubs and massive tires underneath make this car awesome looking. The right stance front to back..
Stock looks ok.But a screwed stance looks gay.Especially without a rear spoiler
This car can be one of the most gay looking cars done wrong
Looks pretty sweet besides that ride height.. probably look a lot better if it sat lower.
Beautiful .

At first it didn't look too bad until it came back from the dip. Nice rescue
pro tip: you can watch movies at flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching loads of movies during the lockdown.
@Waylon Bradley Yup, been watching on flixzone} for months myself :)

Wow what a find:)
Was there any rust removal done inside the window pillars or the trunk drop offs?
awesome
What did you have in man hours for that build notvincluding engine and transmission
Very nice! Was this Camaro Gold or Autumn Gold ? for 1970 year Camaros
What would be the price for that kind of restoration on another 70 camaro
Oh do tell...
Who is playing the cool tunes on this vid.
I wanna buy it...
i can build you one, got a clean straight no rust 2nd gen body right now been soda blasted and silver on it right now, going to do a new paint job can build it any design special or stock looking while being special, special cars only.
I want to buy the music not the car I have too many Camaros away it is
I don't understand why collectiors ho crazy over the First Gen Camaro The Second Gen was across the board so much better!!

Thanks...we agree with having all the benefits of a late model car...but we'd take the "looks" of a 1970 over a late model any day.
Can I borrow the rotisserie for a couple weeks?
Beautiful work but I bet the price of the car and the price of the restoration you could bought a real car a 69 Z28 all ready done
Rs steering wheel but badged like a z28?
The Camaro is a RS Z28 so the wheel is part of the RS package.
The 3 piece COPO spoiler looks better. How bout an L88 hood.......
Reupload?
Yes, sorry, we had issues with "Free music" that ended up with copyright issues.

Would you do my 71 for a youtube video 😂
After that tremendous amount of effort and time spent on it. She's now ready for a museum and useless as a real car.
Or...it could be getting enjoyed by our customer who relives his youth as he drives the California coast line in it on a weekly basis.
Click bait smh
