- Today we are doing some super speed cleaning to get my house reset and back in order after a long weekend. I decided to do a power hour to get as much as I could done in 1 hour. Definitely watch this video if you need some motivation today!

Today's (Thursday's) "To Do" List is ~~ laundry (as per usual), change and wash the sheets, wash | bleach the bed pillows, vacuum the bedroom and walk-in closet, and load | run the dishwasher. As of 6:00am I have one load of laundry washed and in the dryer, the sheets have been taken off the bed and a clean set put on, the pillows are currently in the washer, and the dishes have been loaded and washed in the dishwasher. I need to finish the rest of the laundry (including the sheets that I took off the bed) and vacuum the bedroom | walk-in closet. My husband is working overtime this morning from 5am to 1pm so I took the opportunity to get up early and knock the chores off of my list so I can sit down and relax the rest of the day (and if I am being honest, take a much needed nap).
This was a great power hour! I hope that you and your family are doing well and having an amazing week this week ☺️❤

Mondays are my reset day too. Happy for the switch back. I like to do a power hour reset on Thursdays to make me feel better about enjoying the weekend fully. Hope you have a great week!

I motivate myself to clean a lot of times by setting timers! I’ll set it for 30 minutes or something like that! And most of the time I end up doing way more! I just need that initial get up and go to get me started!

That is funny that you mentioned the fact that you don't separate your whites, lights, and colors because I always wondered why you don't. I am really big on separating my laundry but to each their own. Thanks for getting me motivated today, I needed it!
I don't separate mine, either. Every so often my personal whites have a different color hue, but no big deal!

I used to do it that way because that is how my mom taught me. As I got older and had a family of my own I realized it was gonna take forever to have a load of whites so one day I decided to try all together and I haven't had an issue doing it that way. My ex husband tho...I used to have a load of JUST reds🤣🤣🤣🤣 because he had alot of them LOL. I guess it prob all depends on what we have that makes the most sense in how to do it.
@@tamarabooth5534 Our washer went out one night and I had to wash a load of darks with a couple of pairs of jeans in the bath tub, (totally sucked!) and I saw that the water was really blue and I thought, "Wow, that would have made my whites and lights look blueish." So that's why I separate. Not saying that it isn't sometimes a pain but I guess I just got used to it and now I'm just programmed that way lol.
@rebeccabailey8469 yikes!!! To both of those...the dye and the having to wash in tub!! N yeah for sure! If I didn't change how I did it it wouldn't be a big deal to separate...or honestly even if for some reason I had to change back, I would fall into that routine of doing it that way and I think I'd be good!

Hi! I love hearing all the book recommendations. I have a favorite author Catherine Cowles. I love suspense and romance and hers are a combination of both. I started with the Tattered and Torn series and loved them all. I've read her whole catalogue now and can't recommend her enough. All of her audios are amazing as well and that's my favorite way to read books (with my ears lol)

I love your videos! I’ve been following since sometime over Covid and they’re always motivating. I just purged clothes from 2 drawers in my bedroom, loaded the dishwasher, washed the dishes, and cleaned the stove top while watching! Power hour ftw!

I’ve seen other set a timer and race the clock. I just haven’t done that myself. I keep thinking about doing it for a couple projects I need to do. I’d like to tackle more on my Sundays and Saturday mornings.

Thanks, i needed this!! As far as laundry goes, there was a time where you had to seperate due to the dyes bleeding but clothes arent made like that anymore. I only seperate things that say 'wash with like colors' the first time, just in case. After that, it all gets mixed up, so im totally with you on this! Why make extra work for ourselves when its not necessary anymore and we already have too much to do? Have a great day, Amy!!❤

I read The Time Traveler's Wife when my youngest was 4 - she's pushing 25 now! It's a great book. I'm not sure I could have kept it all straight on audio book; I was always having to look back to check dates. Love your videos!

Hi Amy, with the broken hardware in my back, it has slowed me down a lot, but I'm still getting things done. 😊. I'm able to walk again without as much pain, so if course I move slower and take more breaks. So my power hours are usually all day but progress over perfection right ?😊. Your house is so lovely and pretty. It looks so easy to clean, and you have homes for everything, which makes tidying so much easier. This is my huge problem is making homes for things and so it's very frustrating. I really appreciate your videos. Thank you so much for them. My goal is to power clean on Mondays and Thursdays, but one step at a time. I think Mondays will be a start, then add Thursdays later.

Good morning!!! Living room rug is from HomeGoods and the playroom rug is from Ruggable!
I throw all my clothes in the wash together too. I swear when our parents were growing up, they had really hard water or something that made them separate. OR, I feel the only time to separate is if you're using straight bleach on white clothes. Other than that, my clothes still get clean 🌟
I'm cleaning out the cabinets in our bathrooms. There are cleaning products older than the hills in the cabinets as well as OTC meds that I need to check the exp dates. If I have time, I'll toss old but rarely used cosmetics too.

If you have not already read them, you should read The Housemaid and the Housemaid's Secret from Frieda McFadden! These are two of the three book series. I believe the third book will be out this summer! I am currently reading her book The Coworker, and it is great so far😊

We had such a busy day yesterday my mama had an eye appointment and then went to Sam’s Walmart got gas and then Chick-fil-A then tjmaxx and crumbl last it’s been such a beautiful week yesterday it rained that’s the same way in this house we have a lot of laundry to wash we just got a new washer and we love it got delivered Thursday we separate colors but we only wash all the towels we are about to be buying a new vacumn soon our dyson quit on this beautiful Monday we are mopping washing sheets that we bought yesterday we are about to be purchasing and new couch and new rug soon

Amy, I love your videos, but I have been recently really busy with my 10 year old son. He is into karate and recently got his purple belt. I heard in this video that you love the Frida McFadden books. Have you by chance read her books The Housemaid and The Housemaid's Secret? I have both books and I was having trouble putting them down.
