      @@Sylvia-zg6yhthe commontator keeps calling it a him when it’s clearly a she. The bit is surely a huge problem I also believe the belly strap is since to tightly and that’s why she keeps kicking the same leg. The royal horses are completely abused with the tack they use. Horse have lots more nerve endings along their bodies that most folks ignore, especially the royals.

      Why is the place going to close in a few days? That big fellow was fun to watch before he began to melt down. He was so goofy before, posing for the 📷 tongue hanging out of his mouth 😅 I think that I 'll call him "Reacher" after the character from the books and the show on Amazon Prime. I'm going to pretend that the movies with the tiny actor never happened because Reacher is supposed to be 6'5" tall and built like the Hulk!🤣🤣

    The way he was kicking upward towards his belly would indicate abdominal pain. Mild onset of colic perhaps.

  • @OrangeySky11
    @OrangeySky11 8 месяцев назад +35

    Kentucky here …… we raise thoroughbreds. Could have been a touch of colic (gas) and it can be very painful. I’ve seen them bite at their sides. The raised tail was a clue.

  • @shebesq
    @shebesq 8 месяцев назад +46

    He looks as if he is having gut spasms, bringing his leg up . He’s quite subdued. He repeated the leg action just prior to being led off…colic can come on very quickly.

    • @katydidnt3906
      @katydidnt3906 6 месяцев назад +1

      Absolutely. He is also looking back at his flank which is anothty sign of colic. Poor boy - not feeling well and he has to stand there, tacked up, and tolerate people touching, tiuching, touching him. Some horseman on his back 🙄

    I have a beautiful big boy like him. Horses his size often are misinterpreted. It looks like he was stung by something. He wasn't tail swishing too bad as if there were more around him. It looked like a pain response. If he wanted to kick he would of. He didn't load up. Also a melt down was not much wait to U really see one. They would of swept and not used water due to the surface as well as them wearing shoes which would be much more of a risk of injury to both as high likely hood of slipping. These horses are amazing and put up with people invading space as well as boredom.hence why they play with the bit a lot more. Most horses would flip out purely with the boredom and then want to rip ppls heads off lol so well trained

    John, seeing your videos always gives me a lift. Q10 is a real sweetheart. He's so big he doesn't have to be, in any way, aggressive. That said, he was kicking out backwards, as if being bitten. He's whisking his tail a lot.

    Why must the horses stand on bricks? Why are the boxes not lined with large, thick rubber mats to cushion that area? The stress on their legs and bodies standing on bricks for a shift likely leads to pain in hooves, legs, shoulders, hips, etc. As well as the horses are looked after, this seems like an unfortunate oversight in their care. Q-10 did seem most bothered on his right rear leg as he was kicking out with it. He also carried his tail oddly hooked to the left. He may benefit from a good equine chiropractor and/or masseuse.

    Any working animal can have a bad day. People say it’s cruel to make animals work, but the animals love to work or they wouldn’t do it and this is proof of it. Doesn’t matter if it’s horses or canines, being a handler or rider, the responsibility of the human/handler is recognizing when they need a break or time off.

    Seeing as Q10 has an excellent reputation for being docile his starting to “ cow kick” with his right rear leg only over numerous times may indicate some internal issues, such as gas colic . Perhaps even a bee sting but with that it’s usually over and done with fairly quick. With the tremendous care these h receive I’m sure Q10 will be feeling like his old self soon.

      He was bitten probably by a horse fly . The boxes are on a public street in Whitehall under Westminster council not MOD . Placing any sort of boundaries whether it's a physical one , which could be potentially dangerous for horse and Trooper , or a painted line like in the courtyard would be a nightmare involving Westminster council , MOD and Household Cavalry !

    Sparta was licking all the lady's purses! You could tell he liked the ladies more than the men. Very entertaining horse.

    Think the horse had a Muscle spasm in the back leg, also known as a shiver.

    It actually looked like he had a cramp in his hind quarter. That’s why he was kicking.

    Could be a horsefly bothering him⁉️ Something is, as he's not trying to kick at y'all. W/him holding his tail up & raising that back R leg is a pretty good indicator.✌️ Beauty of a horse.

      I wondered that too. If seen horses go from half asleep, to launching forward and throwing themselves on the floor, literally minutes apart. From the comments, there was a stinging insect?
