I bartended one of his concerts and worked the VIP. He went up to every single guest and was one of the most professional and friendly celebrities I have ever met. He.made eye contact with me and seemed willing to say hi but I had to be professional bc we weren’t allowed to be schmoozy with talent/ celebrities. I’ve met a significant amount of them and I have to say he was the nicest. He deserves all the blessings and achievements he has.
Can you answer in more detail?
Nah, man, you've been bamboozled. Stay away from him.
@@helsinkianskies why do you say that
deserves got nothing to do with it
great to hear that !!
When life gets really difficult I find comfort in the fact that Jack Black is never ever going to grow up. Knowing he's out there rocking his sax-a-boom is balm to any hurting soul.
Went to his concert in San Diego. As a professional musician, he put on as tight a program as any I’ve ever seen. Uncanny, really. A section of about 12 people around me and myself, laughed so hard that we were all crying in pain because we couldn’t stop laughing. Very scary. He (Jack) never once laughed the entire time or broke character. He had the energy of a triathlete. The voice of an opera star…..wish I were kidding.
I still wonder which “lord” he bargained with 🤨.
I hate that I missed out on Tenacious D in concert last summer
Well, we know to which one his eyebrows belong.
Which Lord?... I thought the same thing. Being successful in the entertainment business isn't usually dominated by staunch Christians, it's typically the opposite.
@@TopicSet I was a little taken aback when he did "School of Rock" (for kids...right.) after "Pick of Destiny" album, where he talked about having someone leave a "Cleveland Steamer" on his chest, or all the "Hail Satan!!" chants, or "sometimes you just have to fuck her hard" yada yada.... jeez. Even the backdrop for his concert in San Diego appeared at first glance to be a bird or something... only to realize we were looking at a penis jutting thru the interior of a vagina... looking back, it seemed funny at the time, but way beyond vulgar now. I'm no Polly Purebred, but everything is a race to the bottom now.

tenacious d is a certified cult classic . might have flopped but not in our hearts
the hbo show was a giant hit
My friend is a French Chef in L.A. , and Jack Black came back into the kitchen to meet him . He said Jack was the most down to earth and regular guy that he has ever met around L.A. , the total opposite of the snobby Hollywood types that he normally comes across.
What Jack said in response to the question about why the Tenacious D movie flopped was in jest, but was 100% fact. That movie was a masterpiece.
What?! Tenacious D was not a flop. It was amazing 💖
Originally when it was released apparently hardly anyone watched it. But over the years it became massively popular with a cult following
In terms $$$?
Flop.
In terms of legendary/Cult status?
A+
@@TheLazyGamer42 I seen it in theaters 06.
Loved it first time
@@jasonpeters9716 damm it must've been quite the experience to see it in the cinemas! I remember watching it around 2006 when it came out on DVD!
@@jasonpeters9716 same! My brother and I were huge fans so we went to see it together and acted like teenagers, it was so much fun!!! I felt the same way about “Jay and silent bob strike back”, I knew it wouldn’t be a “hit”, but I also, recognized that it was a love letter to the fans, and I appreciated every obscure reference!! I hope Kevin smith and jack black are friends IRL.
Comedy is my drug to battle anxiety and depression.
I’ll agree to the short and disheveled part, but he definitely could never be described as average! lol honestly though, his musical ability ALONE sets him apart, his humor and quick-witted nature are just excellent perks
when i saw jack in africa doing some charity work - he did a segment with a kid he met and it broke me,,.,.i never saw jack the same way and really admired his heart for people...and how he is bloody funny
I saw that too
He donated a lot of money to help with something down there. Shows how big his heart is. ✨💙
Limited success?! The D is life
Didn’t mean to steal your comment but The D lives forever

I met him at a lodge. He ended up playing shuffleboard with my husband and drinking Jäegermeister. After a bit my husband said he actually forgot who he was because he was just such a nice, normal guy.
Well that takes real talent.
JB is absolutely adorable. I love this man.
Very likeable guy, has brought us all a lot of entertainment over the years in both music and movies
Jack Black. You like him or hate him. Im a big fan. His singing and guitar skills are great.
I don't think too many people hate him. I mean how could you? His comedy may not be for everybody but he still seems like a really good guy. I think he's hilarious!!
Yeah no one hates jack black
His singing is off the charts. Check out his live cover of 'the spirit of radio' by Rush on Hannukah Sessions. Sounds better than the original.
Who knew he had yet to become an even BIGGER legend?
The pick of destiny is an absolute gem
How about the fact that Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Owen Wilson, Judd Apatow etc literally "teamed" up and became really good friends in the early 90s.. There is no doubt that these fellas has helped each other out with everything throughout their careers.
When he was cast for a big role in Peter Jackson's "King Kong", a friend exclaimed "Jack Black!? I can't STAND that guy!" I replied, "He's playing Carl Denham. You're not supposed to like him." I thought he proved himself nicely in the role.
I LOVE JACK, SO INTENSE, AND VERSATILE AND WELL YES HILARIOUS!!
I couldn't love Jack Black more. Awesome man!!!
yes clowns are funny.
@@simulationkoyo aargh! You took the words from my mouth!!
@@simulationkoyoClowns are my heroes
@@simulationkoyo You're a clown but you're not funny so your statement isn't true
His movies are really made for kids, so I don’t know why you love him
i met jack years ago at a club in manhattan. totally friendly and approachable.
I met JB once, in Chicago. I was working at a small Cafe, he was loud & hilarious.
Be Kind rewind was a hit that so few remember. Jack Black makes everyone laugh but who knew he could make you cry too
I love that movie..
Jack Black has always reminded me of my friends growing up. Even the singing in silly operatic voices.
luck you
Funny, unpredictable, passionate about music like me and very lovable!! He makes my almost 80 year old conservative Irish mother in law laugh in School Of Rock.
The guys is very personable and his acting in the polka king was outstanding. I also agree with his position on Led Zeppelin...
How have I never seen “The Polka King”?! I just did a quick Google and it’s basically hand-tailored for me! THAT CAST, omgggg…definitely watching it by the end of this week. Thank you, person! I almost never watch interviews like this or read the comments, I appreciate that this comment was waiting here for me to point me to it!
School of rock is my favorite movie at all time 😅❤
"Limited success" with Tenacious D? Jesus christ man that is heresy! The D are unbelievably good.
I worry about great actors like this, sometimes they're misunderstood and later on in life have unforseen tragedy... Remember Robin Williams.
Love this dude. He’s an inspiration 😂
I've never heard so many backhanded compliments.
14 years ago this interview but he looks like he aged 30 years. Still a funny dude.
he has to be on drugs. it's the only explaination for how bad he looks now. it also explains his annoying behavior.
What a wildly insulting introduction for such an extremely talented entertainer 🤣 Damn Son!
And he's got some pipes! Man can sing!
I LOVE jack black. When he did that commercial as a teen, he looked like KELLY RIPA! (tvformer soap star, morning tv host lady)
I love Jack Black. He's so incredibly talented. ❤
😂😂 very funny actor. Love the fact that he is himself.
He's also such an amazing Musician too - the perfect man tbh!! haha - such a legend.
I always wished he would do a Meat Loaf/Jim Steinman type Ballad. He has the voice to do it.
@@dalespencer8694 wow, that would be beautiful! And I agree, he definitely has the voice for it!
You probably didn't know this but him and a guy name Kyle Gass wrote the greatest song in the world! literally...
@@Lalomilo685 but I thought it was just a tribute to the greatest song in the world? 🤔😁
@@lukinbeauty maybe it was a tribute to its own song? 🤔😂
I just love his lovely heart! Never stop❤
School of rock is my favorite movie at all time . Happy for his parenthood..
Love Jack Black❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂
I once dreamt that Jack Black and Jim Carrey were in a comedic competion. The one who could make me laugh the most would get to take me on a date. Jack was the winner 🏆 😂😂😂
Step away from the pipe
@@howieone62 Ew 😂
He’s the best always love Jack black !!🇺🇸😎👍🏻🦅
He was great as a kid in the atari pitfall videogame commercial
Jack Black just OOZES hilarity. He is a sublime comic genius. God bless him.
Chris Pratt and Jack Black = this generation's Twins duo.... tell my I'm wrong! They need a movie LOL
Omg!
I completely remember that f'ing Atari commercial as a kid in 80s.
It stood out!
Man, I remember watching that Atari commercial when I was a kid and asking my mom if I could have an Atari. Which I got later. I didn't know til now that was Jack Black. I remember watching that Pit Fall commercial
Liam Bartlett is a great interviewer, direct but not confrontational.
He was awesome in an X-Files episode. Playing a typical stoner.
Whatever his first movie was back in the day. I said Hey! Thats the stoner guy from X-Files.
That's how he made a KILLER memorable impact on my memory.
man, that makes me want to watch a double feature of school of rock/tropic thunder immediately again!!!
The Pick of Destiny is hands down one of the greatest movies of all time!!!
First heard of him through Brutal Legend and Kung Fu Panda and loved hin ever since. I did watch Schoolhouse Rock but I was too young to really appreciate it
School of rock.
I wonder what conversations would happen if Jack Black, Weird Al and Bill Bailey and got together at some restaurant for an hour or so.
I really like Jack Black men’s care line.
Who could not appreciate The Pick of Destiny?!?
Jack Black is such a fun person. I would love to see a genuine 1 on 1 with him to learn about his motivations and desires. He seems like a golden soul living behind funny walls. I bet you could have deep conversations with him about philosophy and psychology. That’s just the feeling I get.
TD is one of my favourite movies
L❤VE YOU JACK BLACK!! Thank you!!😎😍😁
Nacho Libre is one of my most very favourite movies.
Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny was hilarious.
The Pick of Destiny was an awesome Rock Opera!!! Every time I hear a song from the soundtrack it makes me want to watch the movie again! My favorite song from the movie is Kickapoo.
Such an inspiration. My idol since i was 10 years.
The Tenacious D movie may have bombed, but the song lives up to the title.
2023 - He's still the best
Fascinating! I just can't figure out how often new videos appear?
Love his character Lance in Orange County.
Tenacious D is Legendary. I've even met Jack Black's counterpart, Kyle Gass, who is a musical genius also.
OMG I had a huge giggle regarding the baby poo! It’s funny cause thats exactly what happens at our house! Baby calendar and all! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
In my house, too, minus the calendar. (So, we are responsable parents, aren't we?)😂
OMFG I had PITFALL back in the early 80's - my dad got me an ATARI for Xmas - had Pitfall, ghost busters, Chopper, Space Invaders etc, then around 85 got a Commodore 64 first with tape drive, then with that massive floppy disc drive...I was a cool kid - heaps of both male and female class mates came over after school to play both systems.... Those days were awesome. Also remember Daly Thompsons Decathlon on C64.... and the Hobbit etc.....man those early 80's in High school were the best!
Tenacious D movie aged like fine wine
I used to listen to the "tribute" song a bunch as a kid, it still slaps, some of the songs in that film were hard
Happy for his parenthood.
I've been a fan of Jacks ever since I first saw Be Kind Rewind with Mos Def, yeah it was kinda low budget but that is what introduced me to Jack and I'm glad it did. 😂
I love Jack Black. He is so talented.
I don't remember him in tropic thunder. Must watch it again and pay more attention
It’s crazy because he ended up playing Orsen Wells in Drunk History.
I never thought I would see someone else do the eyebrow tricks
and this was 15 years ago
They really leaned into to his weight and his quirkier physical attributes rather than his amazing talent and intellect.
Limited success with Tenacious D?? They were fucking rad bro 😅🤘🔥
Limited success 😂😂 LONG LIVE THE D!!!!
Hes great in Cable Guy too
I seen Tenacious D open for Weezer in 2000.
They were spectacular!
I Love Him💗🖤💗
Jack Black is awesome.
Truly funny & a joy to watch.
I absolutely adore JB!
Love, love, LOVE him!
I love him... he is one awesome Virgo with Cancer raising and Pisces Moon... he makes any movie better, but his best movie so far is Shallow Hall!....
Very few humans have what Jack has. You cant not like him.
This song is for my one and only lover peach... Peach your so cool..
Pick of destiny is awesome, period..... and so is Jack btw :D
You have the musical ability of the one and only Conquerer... Mf'in Jables!!!!!
At this point I don't know what is an A.I. host or real host anymore. Crazy!
Tenacious D and the pick of destiny is hilarious, the CD they put out is funny as well and the songs are easy to listen to.
Loved Tenacious D! I own it on DVD. I'm waiting for their second film. A super talented violinist that I jammed with on the street in Santa Cruz, thought that my song, "The Devil", was a Tenacious D song. Yes!
Jack is my man!
Hard to dislike Jack Black.
The TD film wasn't a flop it was a rock musical masterpiece, it'd actually be pretty good as a musical/theater piece rather than a film. Honestly surprised it hasn't been one yet.
