#18 Renovating a cabin on the lake / A pleasant surprise

- This week we starting demolishing and renovation work on the cottage house.
We remove all the old wall, ceiling and floor coverings and find a pleasent surprise underneath.

Days are certainly long and sunny now which is a welcome change :) always enjoyed after a long week for hard work 🍷☺️

Hi Indeed what a wonderfull surprise revealing the wood underneath now it looks soo diferent another aspect with the walls and floor wood recovery little by little it's gaining a new identity lovely and hard work proyect but worthwhile congrats continue wittnessing the develpoment for final work keep it up!!!! I totally get why you needed to live in the cabin to see what needs you have that it didn’t meet. Will you be going solar or staying with the electricity I seem to remember you have. Can’t wait to see the next step in the project.❤
Thank you 😊 we will keep the electricity but update it as in Sweden solar is ok but not the best place for it due to the snow in winter.

It seems like all the cabin renos in Sweden & Finland all have covered beautiful wood w plaster board and 70s wallpaper 😂. Always are a great find ❤. Are you off grid with cabin ? Do you have electricity? Plumbing?
Yes! No accounting for trends of the past haha not exactly a timeless look with the old wall coverings. We are semi off grid if that’s a thing, we have mains electricity but our water and waste are independent and need revising which is something we will do this spring / summer ☺️
