#26 Cladding begins on the extension, kitchen cabinets, window frames! renovating a lakeside cabin

- This week we clad the new extension, start preping our new kitchen and fit and paint the new windows frame back from the capenters.
A lot going on and more to come at the lakeside cottage renovation

Good move with the kitchen. Looks waaay better than new units. And feels a lot more solid. New kitchens always seem a bit delicate by comparison. I restored mine earlier this year in my old house on a large Swedish lake. Rebuilt/restored all of the existing stuff. Including repainting the cabinets and polishing those old brass hinges on the doors. I think you may have the same ones. Just a heads up. Make sure they're positioned accurately. They can be rather temperamental if they're a little out and can rip a hole in your doors if you open them a little too wide - I had to rebuild a door just after getting them all perfect.

Another beautiful video. I love how you and Martin adjust and adapt to the architectural styles of the area you live in, while also adding your own design aesthetic. I can't wait to see more of the cottage renovation. I also enjoyed the bike ride through the countryside. The reflection of the lavender stained glass in that church was gorgeous!

Loved the flora and fauna, so beautiful! So nice to have little shops like that nearby. The repurposing of items is so nice. I do that a lot with my jars. I take the labels off and use them for storage instead of plastic containers. Great little swimmers☺

Thank you 😊 he’s just learnt on the job over the years, we’ve been doing some type of building and design work full time now since 2018 so we’ve definitely completed our builders apprenticeship over the years but we are always still learning new things everyday which is fun ☺️
