Wow. This is fascinating! I’m more of a discovery writer, and have trouble creating from a beat sheet (though I sometimes use certain beats in the editing process), but I love seeing so much detail of how you put a story together. Thanks for sharing this, and for all the work that went into it. Again, wow. 💕🤓🧐😎
Thank you for continuing this series. It has been really helpful to have a deep dive. Would you mind explaining how you know/think through story ideas that are publishable and what is not. You mentioned in the intro that this story isnt one you would publish, and others would judge it as so. What are your criteria for stories that are ideas but not really novels? Do you have stories that are not novels but you would write as short stories, or is it that some stories (like the story you used as the example) not publishable full stop.
I just wouldn’t publish it because it’s too similar to Blood Like Magic. I do have a video coming out next month where I talk about this some, but I just pick story ideas that I’m passionate about. But I also don’t want to write something that feels too much like something I’ve already written 😅
Yessss!!! The people have been waiting! Let me get my coffee
I was working to get this for you guys! I know it’s been a long time coming haha
Thank you so much for this!
Happy to share!!
Can I turn this into a book?@@LiselleSambury
Liselle!! your brain!!! so creative and thoughtful and ingenious. Thank you for this series! It's been very helpful
I’m so glad the series has been helpful!!
35 min in and I'm like... Um... I actually wanna read this story?!! 👀🔥
Loool meanwhile I’m like “don’t judge me for the quality of this!!” 🤣 I’m glad you’re enjoying it in this form anyway
I second this! It sounds like an adorable middle grade novel where you can do a cutesy kid friendly romance.
So u made up this incredibly detailed outline for the purposes of this instructive video?!! Wow!!!!!
Yes 😅 I did also have a lot of this in place from a workshop I did for a festival a while back. So I just edited and added to it
Yesss your videos have been invaluable to my "learning to plot" journey!
Happy they could help!
I wish someone would make a Save the Cat for theatre.
Maybe one day!
We are liking and dropping all the hearts BEFORE we hit play. 🥰😌🔥❤️
You are the hero we don’t deserve 👑
Lol I try! I wanted to be able to get this full sheet out for those who wanted it
I've loved this series so much, thank you for all the hard work you've put into it! It's been so helpful in demystifying planning a story.
I’m so happy that you’ve been loving the series!

That makes sense with using some of the beats in your editing as a discovery writer as needed. And happy to share!
I'm so excited to watch this! I've just finished binging your save the cat videos, so this is perfect timing!!
Ahhh amazing timing!
Are you actually writing this story? Even knowing all the spoilers, I want to read it. So complex and intriguing.
I am not haha I just needed it for a sample so I wouldn’t be upset about spoiling everything/sharing details. But glad you like it!
