    Holy hell. I’m so glad that you’re okay. I’ve always heard that the risk of blood clots just is not emphasized enough/underestimated for women with birth control. I’m just so, so happy that you’re okay omg. Please take care and I’m glad the hospital staff made the process easier.
    I’m so excited about the fight and action scenes you’ve been mentioning. I love hearing your thought process about showing the training scenes before the competition and it’s so fascinating and will be cool to remember when I actually read tbh. Rooting for you with drafting and the rest of submissions! Excited for the upcoming cover reveal!

      Yeah, I definitely feel that way now. When I followed up with my doctor she had another patient who had blood clots from birth control. It does definitely feel like the risk should be made more clear.
      Yeah, it’ll be interesting when people start reading it to see the thought process on the page. And thank you!!!

    So excited for the Mastery of Monsters series! The combat aspect made me think of the way demi gods trained in the Percy Jackson books. The point wasn't to kill but to have real world experience where dying in combat was a reality.

    • @LiselleSambury
      @LiselleSambury  2 месяца назад

      I’m happy you’re excited! And I haven’t read Percy Jackson but that’s exactly it. Like sure, you could die, but the point is not culling people in that way. They want you to succeed

      Yeah, I usually am very tight lipped about sub but I realized there’s no real reason to be? And so I hoped it would be helpful to people to see the journey because wow it IS a journey. I totally get it being a turn off with publishing because rejection can be so gruelling

    So glad to hear that your doing Okay Liselle! Please be cautious with having had a Pulmonary Embolism that may increase your risk in older age of stroke. I only know this because I have had a PE and have had 2 Strokes. Not meaning that you will just keep an yourself being checked. So happy to hear that you are still writing! and are on the go!

    Congrats on your momentum as you continue working on the book.
    It's so interesting to remember those moments when we forget how to write and feel stuck, scared, or lost. And then in a different week how we can be so engrossed in a world and story we are creating and having fun with it.

    Thanks for the chat about rejection! It never ends, does it? I went through a pretty bad depression at the end of August/very beginning of September because of rejections. I’m querying my PhD dissertation novel, also sending multiple short story submissions, and have been getting rejected from those, job rejections, fiction contest rejections, screenwriting fellowship rejections (I’m also a screenwriter), and rejected from a paying disability policy fellowship. It’s so much! I also got rejected from another opportunity to be in a traditionally published anthology again, but at least I wrote that short story and I tried! If I was just getting querying rejections, I don’t think it would bother me as much, but as I’m getting rejections from most things in multiple formats/genres/categories, it definitely is starting to get to me! Hopefully I’ll get something soon! I’m still waiting on a few more opportunities. Thank you again for the pep talk! 🥰
    Wishing you all the best with the drafting of the second book in the MASTERY OF MONSTERS trilogy! So excited for it! 🎉

      Thank you!! And Urg that is really hard to deal with rejection when you’re submitting to all those things. I get how that would be so hard. They can pile up. It’s like getting bad news all at once. It’s never a fun time and I hope you’ll get some good news soon

      Thank you!! And yes, despite the lack of motivation at least when I get down to it, it’s a good time. And I learned to machine sew when I was like 13, so I’ve been doing it for multiple decades now. But I only really started earnestly making garments in the last three years or so. And thank you! I do try really hard with them. I’m not perfect but I always happily wear my stuff and people use them when I give them as gifts too, so that’s great

    I think your Tik Tok issue is that your camera is at too low of an angle. It looks like you have to keep looking down. You should raise it more eye level or higher.

    • @LiselleSambury
      @LiselleSambury  2 месяца назад +1

      I honestly took a bunch of other TikTok’s with a tripod at eye level and the whole thing and they perform basically the same 😂 I think the algorithm has just changed a lot. A lot of authors across the board have said they’ve experienced this too. In the past I could get 10k plus views on my low angle video lol but not such anymore, even with a tripod video

      @@LiselleSambury I don’t do Tik Tok myself, but I watch content there and I’m subscribed to you, but the app never shows me your Tik toks, I have to search for them. I heard you have to go live once a day and have shop items to get prioritized by algorithm. Seems like a lot of work. You’ve got a lot of energy to produce as much content as you do and also write books!
