I am 34 and a skilled trade worker in Detroit, I make 65-70,000 a year. As the way it is now, I have no hope towards buying a home, a new vehicle, hell I don't even have the hope of retirement now. My SS payment went up too. $2033-$2088! Wow, but my rent in my low income senior apartment went up $51. My electric bill has gone up three times AND like Senate Kennedy said, it's jaw dropping. I actually lost money when my SS payments went up because the people in charge took MORE much more than the extra I got.

I just made a quick trip to the grocery store and saw an elderly lady going through her coupons while she decided if she could afford bananas or not.
This hurt my heart. And as much as it hurt my heart it made me angry.

..in addition, some stores are only giving clipped coupon or app coupons which is unequivocally cheating seniors of all the in store discounts (has been my experience). What ever happened to 1 sale paper and EVERY paying customer got the discounts equally? THAT 1 sale paper was less company expense that was passed onto the customer and still generated fair good customer savings to all paying customers that purchased the on sale items. What a unnecessary crock of wrong doing expense mess this electronic coupon crap is. Very few places getting good savings and definitely THANKFUL but the 1 sale paper serving All, Better for ALL.
When you're in the store and a paying customer, item is one sale, every paying customer gets the sale price discount. Not that difficult and HUGE money saver for everyone instead of this current pick and choose discriminatory crap. Nobody's phone can carry all these apps,
and who has the time to clip and or scan for this coupon crap either..just saying...think.

Blow through what savings? Between taxes and/ or rent, savings went out the window. Groceries are few. Need gas for the beater and oil. Now winter utilities are going to be a problem. The out of control criminal thieves have also driven food prices up, as thieves help themselves to food/non food items, so grocery stores/retail stores have to compensate for their losses. High gas/diesel prices make food/goods deliveries much more expensive causing higher prices at the stores. Eventually no one will be able to afford enough nutritious food at the table due to runaway inflation!

Every time i go to the grocery store i think of single moms and dads who cant buy some items they need due to the sky high prices. What about babies? Those pampers or cloth diapers are out of reach. Im sending my daughter money to help buy food for her Thanksgiving meal. I had to send her $295 recently for her electric bill. She drives a little "hoopty" with pretty much a 'motor', to work miles away. Its sad!

I love this man. Plain and simple. I got sick a few months ago. Was sick for a week. Thank God I'm on salary at a small company that gives a damn. I was paying over 500 a month for heath insurance. At the end of that week I ended up in the hospital overnight. Bacterial pneumonia. Said it was from a virus that wasn't on the normal spectrum and would have cost 4000. On my dime cause it wouldn't be covered by that insurance. My Dr said it doesn't matter we are just gonna get you better. 24 hours in the hospital it cost me out of pocket 8000! I'm on a payment plan. I had to cancel my insurance so I could pay that bill. Thank God this didn't happen to me when I was struggling at minimum wage being a single mom. I'm frightened for America 😢

Great point about inflation. Once prices rise exponentially due to inflation, they seldom go down again. Deflation is very rare.
The affordable care act made it possible for a lot of us elderly not able to afford health care.
In the early 2000 many companies insurance went up, and if you had pre existing conditions you couldn’t get health insurance, even if you are single now a good insurance company takes a big portion of your check, and they have 4 or 5 different insurance plan, if you get sick and have the wrong plan , they will not pay the bill, yes now you can get insurance but it will take most of your paycheck

The oil companies made record profits all through the pandemic, and post. We all had to tighten our belts, but not corporations. Nope, they make gobs of money off our backs. Yet, you have the guts to blame Biden. At least Obama gave us an affordable insurance ---not perfect----but something. The repubs have been trying to eliminate it ever since, but have not presented a plan better. Nope, just take away what we have. Kennedy is a big mouth but never offers anything that is better. Inflation is bad, but it has been bad under republican administrations too, in the past. I am sick of the fighting between each other in Congress, and none of them are getting anything done for the American people. We pay them well for what????? NOTHING.

I wouldn't hesitate to vote for Senator Kennedy if he were to run for President because he actually cares for our country and isn't in it to boost his ego, unlike every other politician who is vying for the Oval Office. If everyone working in higher offices were as sensible and honest as Senator Kennedy then our country would not have gotten into the predicament that it currently is.
I am a Canadian and I love senator Kennedy. His southern accent makes him sound like a bumpkin but when you listen to what he has to say. He’s brilliant ,and one of the most talented and intelligent politicians I have ever listened too. I believe that he actually cares about his country. You are very lucky to have a senator like him

We need more people like him that actually care about our country. My husband and I have worked hard all our life and living on a budget, but since biden has caused triple inflation, we can't afford to eat out at a restaurant. We have no cable, pay as you go cell phone. We can't go on vacation, buy a new car, and now I can't get a haircut. We have been married 37 years and this is the first time in ours lives that we can't afford just living day to day, but biden says we are all living better lives,and he is so out of touch because Americans are really hurting and our government could care less. The American dream is gone

This is especially relevant to me. I’m 40 years old and have been working at the same company since I was 16. Over the last 24 years I’ve worked every day slowly moving forward through the different positions developing many skills and talents. I’ve finally arrived at the top of the food chain just in time for our government to be brought down by a corrupt geriatric incompetent life long politician that wouldn’t make a patch on 90% of the people who really make America great.
