Never seen someone eat it raw :) You need to put it warm water (not boiling) for 10-20 minutes. And most people eat it with mustard sauce.

Pretty much every Hema has a special takeaway section with the already warmed sausage. Nowadays some people also prefer to get a half sausage on a bun, yes either with mustard or not.

Yes, that's right. You can't boil them, because the skin will break and all the juices will run out and you get a watery rookworst. That's because of the water in the sausage which expands when getting hot and the skin not being able to expand that much.
Looks nice but maybe better warm!! I'm hoping to plan another trip out to NL but I prefer to visit in November or January when there is less crowds.

ARNO, ik heb nooit gekocht bereid rookworst bij HEMA. Waar haal je de voorbereide gedeelte eten waar je het warm en op een broodje kunt krijgen? Is er een Nederlandse zin boven dat gebied?
You have to heat them up for 20minutes next time, then it becomes very juicy. You can also buy them heated at the Hema. Its my favourite
next you should try "patat kapsalon" I think you can only get them in Rotterdam though... (it's fries with kabap)

At HEMA you can buy it warm. FTD you need better information before you do something. People in the shops are more than willing to help you. Just ask "How should I eat this".
yeah i noticed they had a restaurant there thats where i tried the dutch hotdog from! i would imagine it does taste better cooked but raw its still tasty ;)
Preparation instruction is on the label and on the bag you buy it in, so asking wasn't even necessary ;-)
In Belgium we eat it eat raw too and its verry good!

If u want good chips, you need to go to Vuurens. It's a snackbar in Nijmegen! They have good tea!! Search for: Vuurens Nijmegen and you'll find it. Btw your vids are amazing. keep on the good work!
