Holy crap, they’re using a freaking _jet_ (DC-9? -10? Can’t tell for sure) to help douse the fires?! I’ve heard of helicopters being used to fight wildfires, propeller planes maybe, but this is the first time I’ve seen a _jetliner_ used for firefighting!

This is what happens when you remove the wild Brumbies from the bush they use to keep the grasses under control & stop these wild fires since they have slaughtered, some caught & rehomed but fires like the ones at Bredbo, Batlow , Kosciusko NP, Tumbarumba, Snowy Mtns, tumut & even the fires up north were never this bad till the government targeted the Brumbies

You're statement as much as you would like it to be true, is actually incorrect. Another fictional story Boomers like to shout from their soap boxes.

@@sonnyjimm23 This is not a story & is actually true, I'm no boomer & I don't shout of a soap box. There were hardly any fires up the mountains until the government started culling the Brumbies then in 2019 - 2020 the same area the brumbies were being shot & left to die a huge wild fire went through & took out hundreds more brumbies. It's all documented & was photographed. So get off your soapbox & out of the box you live in & get your facts right before you start correcting me on mine. WHICH IS THE TRUTH

This has nothing to do with ridding the bush of Invasive animals, it was the lack of regular burning off in the cooler months which led up to the massive fuel load, the bush needs regular burning off to stop or lower the chances of these monster bushfires from happening

It's to do with the fuel moisture content being so low and the organic layer of soil under the surface drying out so much with the addition of the reduction in HR Burns due to unsuitable conditions earlier in the year, it has its limits if it's tonsry were better off manually removing the ground litter by hand and tools, I've seen fires travel over large short grass fields in seconds it has to do with the dryness of the surface fuels aswell as sub surface, had a crowning fire go down a road once and a day after we were driving down the road and a wind change cause the fire to come back on itself driven by the organic layer of soil it's scary stuff
