i must have missed the bit in the movie where he gets attacked by astronauts with electric whips o_0
I wonder why they cut out the extra cutscene at the beginning that summarizes the events of the first film, and lets you play through its final moments, with Robocop breaking into OCP's corporate building, fighting various enemies, an ED-209 robot, then reaching Dick Jones in the USA version?
Maybe cause the developers were just Dick's!
This rocked at the arcades back in '91-'92. Lots more fun than the original RoboCop game from the late 80s.
when video games were 110% accurate to the movies.

I actually have nothing but respect for Midnight Resistance. Normally the gripes gamers have with it is not the graphics but the manual 360 degree aim and your average gamer whos looking for a quick run and gun fix won't be to tolerant with the controls. There's a reason why videos of these games garner a lot of views their fun and interesting - people want to see them being played, and a lot play them for nostalgia or b/c they like them.

You've reminded me to play the robocop arcade games. From what I remember, Robocop 2 is actually more enjoyable than the original which had terrible controls :(

And the Metal Slug series which made Neo Geo/SNK famous borrowed from games like GunForce 2 (incidentally some of the team that worked on GF2 later on went to work on MS). The reason why you don't see gamers knocking MS for that is because their good games. =) Games like Midnight resistance or a robocop 2 will never leave that lasting impression - you will either love them or hate them and because their not popular games its very easy to critique them.

I used like this game back in the day. Sector 3 was really good fun and the little setpieces are cool. Last level looks like a bit of a slog though.

Everybody and their mother went if your game was good - people would play. I don't hate Data East per say, they released some very nice classics Desert Assault, Karnov, Midnight resistance, robocop 2, bad dudes vs dragon ninja and even night slasher. They also did a lot of crap to.. I'm sure most would agree.. cobra command skull fang robocop 1 tattoo assassins werewolf last warrior real ghostbusters heh. Although.. I did like some of the data east pinball tables.
Okay... either you fight a bunch of deformed Emil Antinowski's in this game or are those zombies which Robocop is fighting?
Of course, its called an opinion. Some will agree with me others disagree. Theres nothing wrong with what you said- your entitled to your opinion. But at the end of the day our opinions don't count for shit because we the gamers don't have a hand in company politics or influence how the game industry works. That may sound quite cynical but its the truth. Its also why I rarely comment on youtube b/c my voice don't matter and more often than not its just a waste of time.
Yea Robocop 2 arcade is easy to beat with one life. Did it 2 months ago. :P Data East is okay.. they do make a lot of crap tho.

You make it sound like Capcom had a monopoly going - they did not. All I really could do is speak for myself here. I'm not a big fan of any one company and I don't really care for a NES, an Xbox 360, or the hardware that goes with either - I'm more of a fan of the games. If its decent I will play it. You don't buy a console for the console you buy it for its library of games.

The problem as I see it, is that they've tried to present an honest game and rushed it. Something like Midnight Resistance had cartoony graphics therefore you took its aesthetic as part and parcel of the game. This just fails for me. They probably used the same mechanics from one of their other fighting games.

lol, thats just being like sheep. You kind of have to seperate game content quality from being the under dog here bud. I'm all for giving chances to and supporting game development companies that have limited finances but the more times than not if your game is quality it will sell. Even in todays world advertising is not so much a problem with all the media outlets available that we didn't even have 15-20 years ago.Heh, Data East 1976-2003 but still arcades were very big especially in the 90s
