INSANE FILIPINO LECHON & SISIG IN CEBU CITY! 🇵🇭

- Flying to Cebu City was high on our to-do list of places to visit in the Philippines 🇵🇭!!
Cebu was called “Sugbu” or “Zubu” before it was colonized by the Spanish on April 27, 1565. While in Cebu City we had to try the local Filipino dish Lechon!! It is one of the most popular dishes in the Philippines. Lechon is a suckling pig that is slow-roasted on a bamboo spit over an open fire, it is super tender, moist, flavorful, delicious, and irresistible!
House of Lechon came highly recommended so that's where we went to try this famous dish! We highly suggest House of Lechon if you visit Cebu City, great food, fantastic service, and a family-friendly atmosphere. We also tried the traditional Filipino dish called Sisig, the flavors are unlike anything we've ever tasted. One bite and you get a burst of intense flavors, savory, sour, rich, fatty, moist, smoky, citrusy, and spiced that work wonderfully together.
A short distance away is the maze-like Ayala Center Cebu Mall which offers retail, dining, and entertainment options. It leads to The Terraces, a multi-level dining and entertainment area with a beautifully landscaped park, stunning greenery, and water features.

I like spicy Lechon with a liver sauce dip. FYI there's Chicken Lechon, Beef Lechon, Tuna Lechon and Crocodile Lechon.
Sisig too has various choices. There's Pork Sisig, Milkfish Sisig, chicken Sisig...
Wow they all sound like great variations, would love to try them all! 🤤😋

In the Philippines we use spoon and fork instead of chopstick or fork and knife. The sizzling Sisig and Lechon Cebu looks amazing and mouth watering 😍

Enjoy the Filipino food! Please visit the local marker called Tabora. There's plenty of dried mangoes and fish to buy. For food trip, go to the street named...I forgot...it's literally a street in Cebu city with local restaurants serving local dishes and deserts

I love Lechon Cebu. I live in Luzon but lucky that I have a friend who married a Cebuano who's family was in the Lechon Cebu business.
So, whenever I really crave for Lechon Cebu, I just request my friend's husband (who is now a good friend of mine too) to cook Lechon, Cebu-style. ☺

we also use pork and knife when the food needs some slicing like thick meat. Since you are eating rice and sisig doesn't need slicing, you will use spoon. lechon could be thick but its very tender you don't need knife

Wow those places closes crazy earlier. That food looks good. I try to do the same thing to got the places the locals go to eat.
Yh they close really early, it was sooo good! The locals always know where the good spots are 😋
Cebu closes late too just like Manila, its probably the election causing it. Check out Ayala mall upstairs patio, lots of places to drink, restaurants, live music and coffee shops up there.
you can get the right mixtures of toyomansi. the taste should be the combination of sourness and saltynes. like 3 is to 1. 3TBSP OF SOY SAUSE + 1PC. OF CALAMANSI. but if it's still sour just adjust the taste buy adding soy sauce.. toyo mansi is also good for fried dishes.

While in cebu have you visited the taoist temple, Magellan's cross or colon street..take a trip to bohol and see the chocolate mountains...pinas is more than food...

Thats called SAWSAWAN (Calamansi, SoySauce and chili etc.) basically is the filipino term for Dip sauce for fried foods. you should try liver sauce for the lechon, it goes so well in Lechon.
