1990 Callaway Twin Turbo Corvette
#34 of 58 for 1990
One of only 497 B2K option cars produced from 1987-1991 Авто/Мото
be careful not to take on too much stuff to do, if you find the racing to be a lot of fun, you won’t have time for the Calloway project, which is a huge project
I’ll still be working on the Callaway on the weekends as I have been since the beginning.
Got two already, don't need another one just YET! Lol
I would spend 500 bucks on tires for 2 sprint race’s in the mid 90s for a weekend of racing it’s expensive as crap
For a kart or a car? A set of tires for the kart are $250 and last about 4 months of weekly driving.
If you go with Corvette inspired theme on it, don’t forget the Jake Skull logo. Maybe on the front there. 😎
I hope all is well but we need more!!!!!!
I raced competitive karts in the 60's & early 70's...great times/great memories! I ended up racing Enduro karts on sports car tracks in a lay down Hornet Allegro with 100cc Komet (Italian) engine.
For sure interested to follow your racing journey
Cool Chris have fun.
I highly recommend you take your vette to the track at least once. Maybe there is a track night in america at your local track, which is the least expensive way to go.
I subbed to a channel called froggy. He races his vette in California i think. He was always fixing something on his vettes
Happy Thanksgiving brother! Nice toy for sure~John
I always wanted to make my own go kart but i need to learn to weld first
Wicked little “race car” !
This is a great purchase!
This is amazing!
Would love to see from when you start and then maybe 5-6 weeks later and just see how much you improve. Just getting seat time is the best way to learn👍
And as a alternative you might want to go out and check out a local corvette club or Sports car club and check out a auto cross if you haven’t already.
I was just introduced to your channel and absolutely love it and I am spending almost too much time going thru your videos. No matter what you do I wish you the best of luck👍
You have me wanting to get a kart too now. Auto X on my Evo has been pricey. Gotta look into it 🤣🤣.
Happy thanksgiving🦃☕
Put up some videos of the shifter cart.
Can't wait for the Karting content!
This is awesome. Please record some hot laps for us. I hadn't thought of kart racing in a long time. Does anyone know, from a price standpoint, is racing a kart cheaper than, say, racing a sport bike? Also, what was that great sounding jam at the end of the video?
I would rerwrape it to match my corvette life. Let us see what it is like doing some hot laps then go from there.. 😎
Chris I told you no time for the KART. Now we are missing the Callaway update. How is the Kart doing?
Shifter karts are a blast! Have fun!
Ofcourse we want to see you drive that thing! :)
Looks like fun!
I used to race a rotax tag kart. Lots of fun! You should think about doing autocross in c5. Doesnt cost too much and not too hard on the car. Local events all the time.
always loved cart racing i did it with a famly in my neighborhood growing up iwould love to get back into it.good luck a nd becarfull out there.
Hey I got to drive a 2022 c8 yesterday. I was totally impressed. Fastest an best handling car ive ever driving. But its still not at least to me a real vette. Wow thats a fast little cart you bought. Nice very nice sir.
The difference between men and boys is simply the price of their toys
Congrats looks like fun!
You do not have time to race. Focus in the Callaway.
LOL, Chris needs something to do while he is waiting on parts.
I have plenty of time.
Awesome! That will be a lot of fun! 🏁
Well, this is a surprise. Keep us posted, this looks like an interesting sideline to keep you busy while waiting for Callaway parts and for services to be done. I bet that a future project will involve a Sawzall and a C4 to build a Corvette Kart. Thumb up.
Definitely go racing. I’m tempted to get into it locally it’s a smaller spec but the best time racing for super low costs.
what a surprise. Wondered what you have been up to. Thought maybe you got frustrated with the Calloway and needed some down time. That's ok but a race car as it is that was a surprise. Wouldn't mind seeing some video on that.
Are you driving the C 5 at all?
Looks like fun! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Chris.
Hey are you ok chris.
👍
You definitely need to mount a GoPro to the kart and have a helmet cam as well and upload videos of you on the track! You know what they say about all work and no play makes Jack a . . . . . . . well, you know. 😉 I think a break from the ZR1 teardown and rebuild is a good thing and not just for you, but for all of us. Save the Wave👋, even if it's from only 2" off the ground. 😁
It's been 2 weeks since you posted this.! Are you Allright?
👍
Yes on more cart content 😎
That is to awesome. I’ve always wanted to drive one of these racing carts. My uncle had one when I was 8 or 9 yrs old, it had 250cc Yamaha
250cc is a death trap. My friend has a 125cc shifter that will do 85mph.
Would love to see some cart videos. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
To be good in that cart, is sometimes harder than a full size race car. Enjoy.
Hi Chris, cool race car, looks like allot fun. Have a Happy Thanksgiving with your family.
Chris
Have you stopped working on CALLAWAY?
Nope
👍👍👍
Far out...
Happy Thanksgiving Chris to you and your family. Love the video on the kart. Do you drive the C5 vette much ? Any road trips or videos on it in the future?
I drive it once a week usually.
probably the most efficient way of racing/tracking. I wanted to do trackdays and bought a bmw z4 then after a while it wasn’t that much fun anymore also because it was not properly fit to do lap after lap. Then I wanted to sell it and buy a race car. Other than karts, there are a few options chaper than racing other car, I found: formula ford, vee, funyo f4/f5, radical prosport, formula renault 2.0. But it’s not that simple for me as I don’t have a garage, plus it needed a trailer, takes a lot of time to prepare it, so I ended up buying a c4 which is nice to drive even if I can’t push it too much and it’s limited, couldn’t find not even semislicks for that size but it’s ok. I also have the option to rent a racecar to do a few laps
You mean...a GoKart. ;)
No, I meant kart. There is a difference.
Do you have any Callaway videos coming soon
It’s going to be spotty through the end of the year. I’ve got a lot going on with the holidays and all. They are coming though.
👍
Racing makes crack look like a starter drug! Pretty sure I spent a Kazzzzillion dollars buying tires when I raced motorcycles!
Now you can do Mario Kart for real!
Just kidding. That will be addictive and ton of fun
Hi, friend. The video is awesome. Would you like to try our Boslla 4modes headlight bulb? We wanna invite you to try it. I have contacted you on Ins. Hope to hear from you, thanks.
Work your way up to formula one.
