Bros, be careful out there and use your discerning head, not your other head, before acting on those impulses. I was young once and fell for the modern idea of sex being just for fun. As a result, I've incurred a karmic debt that I'm attempting to pay off to this day. Sex is no joke, even when you think otherwise because of contraception.

When you are older and you have children, there are risks of complications and defects. I think having a vasectomy after having children isn't a bad way to go at all.
I know of someone who would have had 5 children, but the 5th child did not make it to term. And the doctors discovered an issue with the child during pregnancy.
Even if, God willing everything goes alright I'm not sure it's best for the child to have an old father. I'm still working that one out in my head, though.

Elliot you make some great points that most here are too blind to see, but you’re missing the mark when it comes to contraception in the context of a monogamous marriage. (Otherwise you’re spot on)
1. Biblically, sex is given to us for 2 reasons - procreation and pleasure (read Song of Solomon). It’s important to recognize the 2nd Biblical reason. This acts as a protection against pedophilia running downhill from sterile sex, as long as a contraception is done in the context of a monogamous marriage (ideally after several kids.)
2. Contraception being a feminist weapon is true, but again this is irrelevant when the vasectomy in the context a monogamous marriage after kids.
3. I disagree that just because there is no life potentially being created, that the sex is therefore of ‘no consequence’ (refer back to point 1). It should still be done with thought and care toward your wife.

So contraception is moral only if you're using it after having at least two kids? This doesn't make sense. It's either immoral (not God's plan and you should not be using it), or it's completely moral (you can use it as much as you want, whenever you want). I don't think intentionally suppressing our live-giving potential in order to achieve pleasure is God's ideal.
Also, Jesus was completely celibate his entire life. So clearly God is trying to show us that periods of abstinence are part of his plan for us.

I heard and comprehended the things you said, and I don't think they make sense. :) Sex not leading to the creation of children doesn't make men or minors any more attractive than they were before. Attraction is automatic, not calculated. My interpretation is that he's saying that over the course of several generations, the ability to have sex without it being tied to the purpose of children ends up changing people's entire concept of sex itself, which leads to pushing the boundaries that historically have existed around sex into increasingly distant places, probably due to the animalistic part of us that just wants to bone something. It's sort of like how people start watching p*rn and end up needing to watch increasingly extreme forms of p*rn over time because of how our dopaminergic chemistry works when we let it run wild without any restraint. Attraction is not calculated, it is partly subconscious, but it's also not a fixed thing, and it does change over time depending on our environment and experiences.

I got a vasectomy last month. Im 25 and i decided i never wanted kids when i was about 18. I did it for me. I didn’t do it for anyone else. I dont see sex differently. Even when i do get a partner. There are still std and sti consequences. I pick a woman and a woman must also pick me. Just because a girl wants me doesn’t mean im going to jump at the opportunity. If she wants kids or already has them that automatically removes her from my options in my head. Sex is one part of a loving relationship. There is sex, communication, compatibility, lifestyle, and personal goals that all play a part in how good the companionship is. Before i got it i never thought i should go bone some kids because they cant get pregnant. Thats just the prey of society being a predator to the only thing they can prey on.
