I just bought this jawn, about to install, will return to review. They got me the system in under a week, so that part of my experience has been better than during the time of your review.
@@Charliesleeper it went well. Installation was rather easy for someone with average skills and a power drill for 1 hole. I haven't checked out the app interface because I'm confident it's hooked up right and working, so no update on the app. You can tell it's working for sure. I have a 2 basin sink, and I have the waste water going to the opposite side of the garbage disposal side. That seemed logical to me cause if I do have a leak, I don't wanna deal with the garbage disposal, but it should work either way. I installed it starting at 4pm, and I had my niece at soccer practice at 550, so it was not a long job. The water is mineralized, and my family actually enjoys that aspect, and if you're looking for neutral pH water, this probably isn't it. But a relatively high pH mineral water goes over well for consumption purposes in my house so far. It tastes clean, coffee is good, system looks sleek, and it should fit under pretty much any sink. I even laid my tank sideways to creatively use up space under my pipes. No complaints thus far.
I bought this system to replace an aging system I bought well over 10 years ago. It was a great system and I would have bought it again, but the price had doubled to over 2000 dollars. At 600 dollars the Cloud system seemed like a great buy, and the reviews were good. Here is my assessment. It is a compact design and should fit under most sinks easily. It was easy to install with everything included. The filters will be much easier to replace than my old system. This system places the minerals back in the water which my old system didn't do. The recovery rate is very good although the tank size is half my old system. I measured the PPM (parts per million) of solids in the water before and after with my own meter. City water was 147ppm and the filtered water was 24ppm after the minerals were introduced. This is very good performance from the filter. Now for the ugly. I can't seem to get the faucet tight enough to not start spinning in a couple days. Still experimenting. The Water pressure needs improvement. My old system had 3 times the pressure, using the city water pressure for pressure. It was a two hose system. Not sure how it worked, but my old system worked well. The pressure in my old system was just as high as the city faucet. Now having complained about the last two caveats, I like the system, it seems very well thought out and we only use the water for drinking and cooking and the pressure is actually ok for that. We are just spoiled from the old system. I should also mention that the customer service was very good. I had a number of questions and customer service was very fast at answering my emails.
There’s an app called Oasis that says Cloud RO doesn’t filter out Haloacetic Acids, Phthalates and Radiologicals. I bought the Cloud and currently waiting for it to ship but after seeing that I’m kind of worried. But I don’t know how trustworthy Oasis is
Never heard of it till now, thanks for the info. They don't provide much info on their testing process with their data gated... you have to pay for it. Sounds fishy to me
Yeah their paywall is fishy. As for Cloud I rewatched your video and I hope it’s just a case of they haven’t gotten around to third party testing for those pollutants since it’s an expensive process.. I don’t know if I should cancel my order and buy Waterdrop instead. What do you think?
@@lailerzzzz As they are a relatively new startup, I'd hazard a guess they've simply not proceeded with certification for additional individual contaminants yet. The Cloud RO geni.us/9ClI8J3 does hold a certification from the NSF to standard 58 for reverse osmosis TDS reduction, which is the most rigorous for this type of system. It's up to you, if certifications for individual contaminants are a priority, Waterdrop G3 geni.us/rQekgwp is certified for fluoride, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, and selenium in addition to 58 for TDS
Nope. Battery?!? No way. It's easy to upgrade the $200 units for better efficiency, greater output, etc. or start higher on the generic RO foodchain. The filters are MUCH less expensive for the "generic" units. Get in for $200 if you want to try it out. Do you like it? Add booster pump (unless you already have over 70psi water pressure) and gain some efficiency. Add second RO housing and membrane for staged concentrate and nearly double the permeate:concentrate ratio for a very slight decrease in permeate quality. Etc.
Ok. I’ve had the culligan ro under the sink for the last 14 years. They now are not making the filters. So it’s time. For a new culligan ro system is 2200.00. I’ve been saving and now have the money but been waiting til the tds numbers get higher than 20. It’s now at 40. But I saw this video now I’m 100 percent not spending it on culligan. Water drop I would need another outlet under sink. So cloud and your video has me wanting to take the risk of buying it. New company is where the risk I think comes from. Thanks for your time. @@NateByou think it’s worth it for me to get this system he tested? I just want it to work and remove chlorine and fluoride mainly and other bad stuff as well
Yeah there are benefits of using battery power like the ability to continue to filter your water if the electricity goes out and no need to make electrical alterations to switched outlets under the sink
Ugh I really want to get Cloud RO, but $200USD with exchange rate to Canada ($271CAD) for a single year of filters seems SUPER costly.
