Agree with your opinion. I LOATHE the new idiotic star lord. I prefer when he was more stone cold in the earlier comics. I think I’m the only person on the planet that genuinely doesn’t like the guardians movies.
I think the reason they changed him in the MCU was to make him stand out more compared to other Marvel characters in the MCU. Plus, another "stone cold" character isn't going to grab audiences' attention when there's plenty of characters like that already. But as someone who's aware of Star Lord before the MCU, I'm fine with the change since comics do this all the time with or without the influence of movies or shows.
He needs another retcon.. I feel there are way to many hero's all packed together on earth in the same time frame I prefer hero's being more spread out in space and time it makes them more impactful I like guardians 1 it's a good base to work off of tho some of this needs changing The aliens randomly kidnapping him is gone replaced with them tracking the guns his dad left for him He thought they where toy water guns as at the time all they shot was water after filling them up The guns need charging with an element before it can shoot that and much later on the guns are further fleshed out I like star-lord as having a urine connection to weapons like THORs hammer for example he can pick it up even gaining power from it as his outfit is permanently mutated to fit THORs style.. But quil feels the hammer isn't giving him power it's drawing it out and that he needs to throw it so he does and we find way later that actually help THOR Alot getting his hammer back Quil was using star light lightning instead of normal lightning.. Also just briefly using the hammer permanently changed his space masks look His still back to being human again This star lord is more of a weapons collector even having a hidout full of weapons and gear he found this helps later as these weapons actually help with other characters Based off of the second movie I'd change Alot.. Ego is just an exiled king of spartax he still has his powers but this is due to him giving up his humanity and fully embracing his earth element becoming a planet and spreading to other plants Quil kills him At some point quil dies and finds himself in a different plan of existence until he makes his way back and finds his fully unlocked his star power his literally powered up by stars his near making him abit stronger, able to breath in space and fully charge his pistols freely He kinda becomes space racer from invincible At some point one of his pistols gets destroyed and id want that to be a turning point for him He no longer uses that weapon keeping it hidden just in case he ever has a kid so they can have it Instead he empowers other weapons to do the same thing he was doing before Spartax are direct descendents of gods also related to thanos (at some point where he takes half of life he spares all of them as he spared himself, their relation to him saved them leading to them fighting against him later on) Due to this close relation most spartax are born with mutations making all of them mutants but it's been going on for so long that it's become normal for them even having entire blood lines dedicated to powers.. Quils powers are an enherited bloodline mutation where his able to absorb and embody all forms of energy physical and otherwise making him an elemental vanguard.. (it's kinda like how rogues powers work but way more in depth given it's have 1000s of years to develop from person to person quil could effectively cencel out mutant powers given connect.. The only issue is it's from his spartax blood and his half spartax half human so his human half likes to hog the wheel) His a normal human most the time it's only breif moments he taps into his powers and it's rarely understood until he dies and comes back and changes his MO The reason his bloodline was the direct line was purely due to the power it can literally nullify and absorb other mutant powers so no one could fight against them in their quest to become kings.. A civil war stopped that tho thanks to thanos again Quils dad was exiled due to lacking the exact power set as it tends to skip a generation but it's also based on who you are getting with to make a kid to begin with.. Quil being half human is a blessing and a curse Quils dad was an earth elemental that fully gave up his actual body to become a full planet to then take over other plants to eventually defeat thanos The time quil becomes king of his people his already left the guardians and his basically nova prime Thanos having learned that spartaxans where uneffected by the snap goes to war with then.. Thanos having to replace half his body with cybernetics due to the snap At some point the time stone is cracked leaving a large chunk of the universe to run slightly faster so for them their war lasted 2000 years but for everyone else outside that area it was 2 years Quil turns himself into a literal star to kill thanos and both of them die Quil leaving behind a daughter with his one remaining gun The stones end up being approached by other forces As for the time stone to heal it you would need itself so for the time being it remains frozen in time and space near where quil and thanos died You could later bring thanos back even madder then before as not only was he killed but his work was fully undone and quil would also come back from the same bleeding crack in time tho his stuck in a coma in space By the time his found his again a normal human His daughter isn't a pure blood either tho she mostly takes after her mother she to has enherited spartax power Her element is fire.. Normally she just has the strength and endurence she got from her mother but like her dad she sometimes finds a power within herself to command and fully control flames Its to the point where she can fully command anything flame based and even take it within herself for a time.. She could fully steal the human touches or ghost riders powers having full control over them to do as she pleased (she returned Johnny storms powers but greatly improved in stubility and strength and fully freed the spirit of vengeance) I think a cool thing with these ideas is you can swap the times around and some of the ideas still work.. Swap the event times around as you see fit
MCU version of the GOTG is Definitely Unique Star Lord I knew was Cold AH Drax I Grew up with was a Litral Destroyer Gamora is Way Hotter than Her Live action Counterpart(I don't know if it's a Letdown or Upgrade) Rocket is more feral and I don't know but for some reason I remember him having Pure black or Red eyes(Please tell me I am Wrong) Groot is Groot but is Different in each movies
@@comicbookking3446 I plan on making an entire video discussing the 2021 game, but to sum it up I think it's a great middle ground between the comics and the MCU while still introducing its own ideas. I haven't played the Telltale game though, should get on that soon.
I rly hate the whole thing about Peter being a janitor at Nasa one of the inspiration for Peter in the movies was Farscape, and the protagonist there its a cocky militar, he's a asshole but competente, something like Maverik in Top Gun Soooo make complete sense Peter still be a Astronaut
Even though i like the first guardians of the galaxy movie, i hate how the mcu version made starlord a clumsy bumbling idiot, his character was so much cooler and badass in the abnett and lanning comics and i also hate how after the success of the first movie, they dumbed down the guardians team in the comics to try make them more like the movies, and it didn't even feel natural, it felt so forced and like they were trying to be edgy. The abnett and lanning comics and the donny cates comics have the best versions of this guardians roster, the rest are terrible.
As a Star-Lord cosplayer and a lover of this character, I truly appreciate this in depth insightful look into the various origins
