  • We all worry about our health so it's easy for us to believe things we see that tell us "Product A" will be good for our health. But, as the good data analysts we are, we know we can't trust all of these statements. We need to be critical of the data presented to us so we're not wasting our money or, even worse, harming our health. In this episode of Study Hall: Data Literacy, Jessica talks us through how we should be thinking about data in health.

What's the drug industry worth and what sort of influence does it's money have over med schools, drug trials, academic papers, research funding, and what problems arise from these conflicts of interest?

This is a very good and useful serie.
Crash Course should publish this videos in their channel too, so it gets more views. And Pucci does a great job as host.

This a good material to general public be informed in front to voracious industry of food supplements. But there are two things to think about.
One: "race" is a concept anachronic nowadays in social and natural sciences.
Two: If a lot of research about food is made with public resources, why the full papers aren't open access, an abstract sometimes isn't enough to get a complete history.
    ( SciHub rules, btw).

This is a great series! I've enjoyed pretty much all of them. But I do echo what somebody else said about the editing. Way too quick! One sentence doesn't end before the next one starts. I get it, you're trying to make it more contemporary, fast-paced, and hip but there's a lot of info in there to process. I need to rewatch a couple of these to remember what she said. BTW Jessica Pucci is gorgeous and so well spoken! Great choice!

"Changing the goal posts" in a study is tough to spot if it's retroactively modified.
Sponsor can be rough too as any company can simply start a website and slap a new name on it; maybe even register it. That gets tedious. Any tips on that?
