Dear Alexander, I'm a lady of 57 from Argentina. My most beloved composer is Rachmaninoff of whom Mr Pletnev once said "he's not a pianist, he´s not a composer, he's a soul", well I feel like you "channel" Rachmaninoff´s soul. Thank you from my heart for your thousands of hours of hard work and dedication. I wish you a beautiful and long life and I hope you can come to Argentina to the Teatro Colon sometime. With love, Vivian.
There is something special about this young man. He plays like no other, simply sublime, like we're being escorted to visit the stars. I am forever a fan.
You’re right and I believe he is as close to Martha Argerich as we’ve yet to achieve in a young man although I’m unsure if like myself and Martha (the Queen of piano), he’s able to duplicate music after hearing it only once but as he (also commits as do I) all the music to memory, I’d assume so.
@@ungrateful-66 We're all so different, my friend, in our comparisons/analogies - and every one is equally valid! My comparison is with the Great Vladimir Davidovich Ashkenazy! Very best wishes from the UK!
@@tcharles2466 He plays too much russian or romantic music only, therefore he lacks serious bases, the sound isn't gold quality, the phrasing and structures are sloppy. Great talent, but didn't improve much since he was 15 or so. And he is as close to Argerich or Ashkenazi as the Earth from Alpha Centauri. To make a valid analogy/comparison between pianists at such level, you have to know and be able to hear a lot of details.
Dear Alex, I hope you’re taking very good care of yourself these days. Don’t you think for a minute that the Montreal cancellation is any reflection of you. There are so many people touched and moved by your sincere and authentic artistry, and “purity” in your music making. I was so happy to hear you live in Boston in February. It's very sad that your concert in Montreal was cancelled, i really wanted to attend it. Good luck to you and your loved ones during this difficult time!
My fav performance of Alexander's Prokofiev 7 sonata is at his China competition. It was absolutely mind-blowing. No professional actor could display raw emotions like Alexander did that day.
I listen to classical music occasionally depending on the mood and this fall I experienced much sadness due to death of my little angel granddaughter and a few older friends from my church. Thank you!

Wonderful. Now the admirable prodigy has almost faded away, but a beautiful beautiful pianist stand tall. Your sensitivity, feelings and the way you play the piano specially in this one is fantastic and relaxing. Thank you, Alexander! Rachmaninoff is one of the best composers of all the time! This one reminds me of Clair de Lune from Debussy.
I was impressed with your music as soon as I heard you play and I love Rachmaninoff. However, yesterday I looked up the music and one version of the Concerto #3 was 100 pages long. Now, I am totally amazed that you can memorize these very long pieces of music. Thank you so much for all of your very hard work and your amazing spirit. My grandson, who plays the clarinet, has to learn piano for his college program. He said you inspire him.
Oh, my! Thank you for this momentary rapture. Thank you to Alexander Malofeev for his dedication to his art and to so many performances where he can share his art. Thank you to those responsible for producing and sharing these videos.
