- Ive finally splashed out and bought a set of stainless steel bumpers. Also I have changed the spark plug leads and coil for the performance versions.

Love watching your videos - I'm doing something a bit similar (recommissioning a TR6 that has stood for many years, but to a much lower standard!) just down the road from you (Epping). I've really been inspired by your craftsmanship and your can do attitude - also really appreciate that we get to see your work in progress, which really helps people like me see how something works, and have a go myself. Looking forward to seeing it on the road!

Thank you for taking the time to watch my videos. Restoring this car has really pushed me to my limits to the point of wanting to give up many times. I'm almost finished now, with only a few teething problems to address. Hopefully should be putting out the final video within the next couple of weeks.

I love that bumper! As someone commented, a small dark velour material on the yellow wheel arch section in the boot. You should have painted the area behind the grill black as was original, possibly hand brushed on.
I only found your TR6 videos yesterday, you did a great job on the interior! I am rebuilding my old '71, which has been sitting in my garage for 40 years. I rebuilt the chassis and suspension, but the body, which did not look that bad was way worse than I knew.
To be honest, it didnt even occur to me about the black behind the grill but I do get it. Most of the trouble with these old cars is not what you see, its what you uncover...I was surprised by how much rust was underneath the paintwork of mine. Then when I scraped off the underseal in the wheel arches I was totally deflated. But having said that, It was nice knowing I rebuilt the car and hopefully last another 50 years
Hi Johnny. When you first said “stainless steel” bumpers, I thought , oh that’s a bit dodgy. But when you got them out the box I was amazed. They look just as good if not better than the chrome one’s. Keep on with a great job.

I was nervous about parting with so much money for those bumpers, but honestly, they were absolutely perfect and in fact, I would say they are an improvement on the original chrome ones as stainless steel never rusts
Frame on your car is so solid . Number one problem with TR6’s in Canada 🇨🇦!

Its been a rocky road with this resto. May a time i have wanted to throw the towel in and give up. You must know what that feels like at times. Thankfully, I managed to pull through to the other side and now the proud owner of a stunning TR6
Nice too see your restoration coming along, but was n't happy with you throwing parts on the bonnet thats a no no in my workshop . Paint is presious as a painter lol . Great work .
Hahaha when I watched back the video whilst editing it made me shudder every time I threw something on the bonnet
My sump plug used to leak Jonny PTF sorted it. I have Stainless Steel bumpers and they look great. The Chassis looks solid and sound once you have under sealed it will look brilliant. I have yellow HT leads made by a guy in Telford they really lift the engine bay and are great quality. Looking great now. I noticed at the end you are going to fit Union Jack Stickers, they were for USA cars, the lettering TR6 looks far better IMHO
Hi Paul, I was really stuck when making the decision about which sticker to put on. I never knew there were USA/GB variations. Ive stuck them one now.
The sump nut just needed a quarter turn more and it stopped the leak. That was a result as I didn't fancy draining the thing.
The leads I bought for £26 are the same ones as the TR6 dealers are selling for £70+ . Retro leads sell nothing but leads. But I really should have gone for Yellow ones

The yellow patch in the boot should have black velour like material on it. I expect you can easily sort that.
I agree ignition leads can be poor. Bought some Magnecor ones for mine, pleased with the ways these fit.

So thats where that velour patch was supposed to go!!!😆 I kept looking at this square of velour and for the life of me I couldnt work out what it was for. Thanks for that one Tim, Now Ive got to make sure I havent thrown it

The Union Jack stickers were used on US-export cars (but look so much better) :-)
I only just found out about that from one of the previous comments. I wasnt sure which way to go and took the advice from a friend that has restored a few of these. I do like the splash of colour though
