I found this scene hilarious when I saw this film in 2000. I find it infuriating now because of how so many people actually do what the driver does here.
I have never seen people doing what the driver does. I have only seen white people using the race card, the great migration, whites are being removed from their cultures, immigrants taking over white countries.
@@Wikkdwarrior When I used the word "now", I was referring to myself... _which is_ why I put it in the first clause of the sentence and not the second.
That limo driver sure manipulated everything to his advantage. He exploited an opportunity for 'misunderstanding', milking the whole situation for his own gain. Deliberate distortion and gaslighting Layla! Absolutely disgusting. Unless he really was so stupid and ignorant to really believe Charlie's intentions were what he construed them as. But he would not allow for any correction, which ultimately was like a self-fulfilling prophecy because in the end Charlie of course DID lose respect for him. There's a saying "Falsely accusing me of having an attitude, will (ironically) create the attitude you thought I had". He wanted to set Charlie up to fail and collapse and lose the argument or battle, and lose his wife. : ( He secretly desired Layla and wanted her for himself, plus also I'm sure he had lots of insecurities and wanted a feeling of "sefl-validation".
@KenMasters. The only thing is that, Shonte didn't know that Layla found him handsome also and he (Shonte) didn't fall in love with her until he found out that he had something in common with her after beating up Charlie. Regarding beating up Charlie, that could be an excuse especially since he (Shonte) probably knew what Charlie was talking about when he asked if the company he works for accepts checks but used "black man" as an excuse just to beat him up and the moment when Charlie said that he wasn't speaking racist, Shonte probably decided to think of another excuse to say, "so you are asking if little people accept checks?" especially since Shonte must have felt he didn't have to respect passengers since limo driving wasn't his permanent job that he wasn't getting paid for which was only an experiment he said.
1:14 Charlie gets in a couple of slaps 2:11 "But MENSA? I'm president of the Providence chapter" If she's so smart then why did she apologize to the overly sensitive dude for nothing?
I was cheated on by a girl that was that dumb and easy. No matter the truth, still hurts the pride. As funny as that scene is, it's still hard for me to watch it.
You had the wrong view on women. Let me tell you what women want. They want romanced. You can not view women as a piece of meat. They want to be romanced.
Idk who’s side to take but I’ll divide the sides here. The dwarf though the “you people take checks” is on him because of his race while Charlie meant is the company, not the driver himself due to his race. So who’s right or wrong here? I know it’s a comedy movie but I wanted to put it out here
@private_c When Charlie said, "do you people take checks" he meant the company the midget guy works for asking if the company he works for accepts checks and maybe was about to ask if it's cash only but, the midget guy thought he was saying, "do you black people accept checks?" and when the midget guy asked if he was referring to black people and even though Charlie said "no" but was referring to the company he works for, the midget guy wasn't listening like an adult and/or didn't believe Charlie (maybe if Charlie said, "does the company you work for accept checks?" maybe the midget guy would have said yes or no). So for that, the midget guy was wrong not to listen to reason and what gave him more encouragement to show that he was wrong was that Layla was giving him the benefit of the doubt the whole time and must have felt that attacking Charlie physically was the right thing to do since she must have found the midget guy more handsome than Charlie since she never really loved Charlie from the beginning especially since she left him to be with the midget guy.
Charlie should have arrested him on sight...he robs malls at Christmas every year.

What the backstabbing woman does here is more infuriating to me.
@@fedvvvv Yeah. That, too.

Many people did the same shit back then too...hence why it was written into the script🤦♂️🤷♂️

Shonté Jackson was just jealous of Charlie Baileygates because of his tall height and the wife he has,
and wanted to find any excuse to kick his butt.

Tell it to the judge!🤣
There's a right woman? 💊
This scene again is so funny with Jim Carrey, Tony Cox, and Traylor Howard.
Remember when this was a comedy and not real life?
I like this little shrimp of a man.

Sounds to me you dodged a bullet. Be grateful for your blessing and move on.
Im watching this now
Typical American comedy, something overly embarrassing happening to the main protagonist such as getting beaten up by a dwarf.
ohhhh its on noww its on douf douf douf douf... hahah
That guy is such a jerk.
It wasn't a racist comment
Ohhhh it's on now😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Always looking to find an insult somehow.
