North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains have a special place in my & Jerry's hearts. I lived in Boone, NC for 4 years while attending App State, and we often return to the High Country for special occasions or just to rest & recharge. As most of you know, Helene absolutely DESTROYED the entire region, and our western neighbors desperately need our immediate (and long-term) help. There are so many efforts to get resources to the region, and if you are looking for a trustworthy place to donate, I am listing several organizations that I recommend. You can click on the links to learn more. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a huge difference. Please keep all of those affected by Helene in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you friends ~ Jenny 💗 ⛰ baptistsonmission.org/Mission... ⛰ www.samaritanspurse.org/ ⛰ www.828strong.com/
I thought about you, my son in Spartanburg SC. It’s devastating up there. Power company said 9 days no power. We bought a generator and 15 gallons gas, drove up there. A 1hr normal trip, is now 3 hrs as many roads are closed. We were blessed🙏🏻 they are now with basic needs. We left them smiling with their fan blowing, little lamp bright, a portable burner to cook on🙏🏻 We pray for our beautiful NC mountains & Everyone affected ❤
I'm glad your son was okay🙌 we have a grandson on Wofford's campus and they're not having classes till Thursday I think! Giant tree feel right at his window! God is Good🙌 Stay Safe and as always Continuous Blessings🙏🙏🙏
I’ve been praying for y’all!!! Thank goodness y’all are safe …. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻thank you for the update. Praying for everyone who was in the path of this Hurricane !!
Jenny, I love your heart. The way you started thinking of others and suggesting donations to help them really shows what a caring a person being you are. Thank you for walking us through what Creekside experienced. I’m so happy to hear that you and your family are safe along with all of the Creekside team. You also have a beautiful attitude about the damage yet staying grateful, optimistic, and steadfast ❤ it reminds me of what Job said. ‘The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.”🙏
so glad everyone there is safe. I just saw a news update saying over 100 confirmed deaths and still hundreds reported missing. i pray more are found alive.
Thanks for the update. We continue to pray for everyone affected by this storm. Please make sure you get adequate rest. The physical work is so hard on the body, but I think the emotional/mental toll is more taxing.
Thank you Jenny for the update...so glad that your ducklings and family are safe..I'm sure you are grateful that it could of been worse, but it is still more work and stress for your family .Prayers for the Ashville area and all of those affected by Helene.
You certainly have had your fair share of storms this year. And you and your team get better and better with each one. Glad everyone is ok now it’s time to clean up. Show us how it is done!
Glad you had no major damage to the nursery. Your kindness toward those who have it really bad shows. Prayers for those people who have lost loved ones.
so glad to hear you are all doing ok.. the photos we have seen is just awful. I saw that our power company from Maine are headed your way. I can remember when we had big snow storms we saw power companies from North Carolina helping us out. we were so glad to see those guys. stay safe.
Jen, thank you for coming on with updates. I tried to look up how Dallas, NC faired, as there is very little news. I am in SW, FL. Bless you and your family, please take care! ❤
Jenny I just love the way you just roll with the punches! Nature will have it's way sometimes. And your attitude is so beautiful! It helps to explanation and Brenna doing her part as "Vanna White" pointing out everything you show us 😊❤ so glad you are all safe. God bless!
We live in North Texas , is so sad to see all the damage everyone received. The beautiful gardens 😥 as a gardener it saddens me so much to see all that hard work destroyed. This was a horrible storm. God bless and Prayer sent to the whole area devastated by the storm. On another note. With no comparison to the life of a human being. Having gardens destroyed is devastating, I know your heart hurts looking at all your hard work, yes your thankful for not having more damage than you did and Goodness no one is thinking you’re looking for pity. Although prayers wont hurt. 🙏🙏🙏❤️
About a month after we moved into a house in NY, we had a winter storm knocked out our power for a week and we lost our well also. While we had enough snow to melt for water, the whole house generator got installed real quick after the storm cleared. One of the best investments we made and paid for itself many times over.
Glad y’all are okay. We are still waiting to hear from our neighbors on Sugar Mountain. We know the situation is dire. We are trying to be patient but are worried about our friends there. 😊
I am sorry for the loss of trees but happy you are all safe and the damage is not as severe as earlier this season. I hope you are done for now! Bless you all as you clean up again!
We have been out of power several times a year. So I know exactly what you go through even though we do not have hurricans like that! But the powerlines go through the woods an we are way out in nowhere! Lots of love from Sweden 🇸🇪
Thank you for putting out this video. I was so concerned how you made out with the storms coming through. Living in the middle of Saskatchewan Canada of course we aren’t threatened by hurricanes. Praise the Lord you are OK, so many blessings as you walked us through your property, things that were protected.🙏🤗
So good to know that y'all are unharmed and "minimal" (by comparrison) damage to the property. Helene was no lady!! Sending continued prayers to all those caught in the devastation. 🙏🙏🙏 Thank you for the update.
Thanks for the update Jenny! I live in Western NC - thankfully, my little community is fine, but driving by the devastation in other areas is absolutely gut-wrenching! It was hard not to burst into tears the one time I was able to leave the house! There’s no gas in the area, so we are staying close to home for now, and thanking Jesus for the courage to face the aftermath of this storm! I look forward to visiting Creekside, again, sometime soon! I appreciate your encouraging words!❤
Glad the damage wasn’t too bad. We missed this here in Williamsburg VA. Lots of rain here, which we needed. Takes so long to recover for those beautiful communities in the mountains. Prayers for everyone.
Darran and I are so glad you guys didn’t sustain more damage to your beautiful home and garden center. We have family that live in Florida. They are okay. This storm was catastrophic! So many lives lost and more than 1,000 missing. May heart goes out to everyone in its path. God bless!
I'm glad you guys are ok Jenny! We lost three trees on less than half an acre. A 55 ft evergreen fell and landed in between our huge back deck and our kids trampoline. The top of it fell on top of one of our 20 ft Crepe Myrtles with the tip top of it missing our cars and our house. I will take it!! Praying for our neighbors all over our region who have been affected. We are members at Grace Church and our church is also actively on the ground around the upstate ready to help out community. I'm sure there are a lot of churches helping our beautiful region.
I’m glad you did an update on your location. Two storms for your property in a year. Prayers that power is restored soon. Thank God you didn’t have anymore damage than what you did.
So relieved to see you are all safe and no structural damage. Hope you have power soon… I know all to well how well water life is with out power. Will continue prayers for all affected by Helene.
So glad you had no structural damage. I too was concerned about your new terrace garden retaining walls, which through all your preparations did fantastic.

You can use your solar landscaping lights after dark as lights for inside the house when the power is out. Remember to put them back outside to power up during the day.
So very sorry for this awful tragedy. I live in Toronto, Canada and we have been very blessed when it comes to this kind of thing. God Bless you all and PTL it wasn't worse !
