I love it! great job! The only thing I would change is get rid of those grade 8 bolts holding the grapple and use pins like you used to attach the ram, any pins actually or you will have slop in no time and the threads of the bolts will wear out your awesome drilled perfect holes. USA !!!

Great work , I need one of these in the worst way , I was thinking of building one , now I have more confidence . These things are over 5k and more .

You drew a nice radiused corner for the cutout, but then you cut it square with the band saw. You should always drill the corners for the right size radius and then cut straight into it. That's how we do aircraft structures. There are no sharp corners to concentrate stress.

Nice work!!!!! I think I have to get one of those saws after watching how handy it is. Any time working with hydraulic supports can test a man for sure. Been there a few times myself. I like the USA Badge

I think you could have gotten by with a smaller diameter ram. Would put less stress on your brackets. Can’t imagine needing to much clamping force. I recall only having 2 2x8 rams on a clamshell log grapple.

You are totally correct!! I had that ram from the tractor grapple, so just used it. I really really should have lowered the hinge mounts, then lowered the ram mount too. It really puts pressure onto the tall rear mount. It flexed and cracked, ant I recently fixed it, and put a new bottom and cutting edge on bucket. Video soon. Thanks for watching and commenting!!

I love it!!! Well, I did buy me a nice brass hammer a while back, and use it quite often when I decide I dont want to destroy some stuck steel piece! 😁 the chipping hammer I have...but can never find it! Thanks bud, stay cool in this heat wave!

You're a fabricatin son of a gun! If at first ya don't succeed...try try again. Looks pretty stout on the second go round. I wondered if you might get some tracks, they're handy.
