@@sarthak-ti Puff down smash sends at an absurdly low angle on grounded opponents when below ~60%. Nothing else happened, that's just the launch angle.
I mean, have you seen kazuas forward tilt xD you go straight out then DOWN!

To the t-pose she does to that lovely launch angle when the opponent is below 60. And the absurd hitbox that goes a mile below the ledge lol.

Must admit I was a Bassmage doubter ever since he started making waves. I even thought he was a wasted slot on the last summit. However, these recent performances have been incredible and he is taking this character to new heights. Nothing but respect to him and now I root for him every time.

Puff is a super volatile matchup for any character without the right type of recovery.
Falcon does not lose to puff. It's just bassmage beats falcon lol
As a Puff main I feel like this matchup is really hard to place. Sometimes it feels bad for Falcon and sometimes it's the opposite... so it's probably fairly close to even.

Fatality nuthuggers will call any character he loses against an unwinnable matchup
These back hits with the nair into backair are so nice. The angle the nair hits from behind is also much better for keeping someone off stage. I love puff
It’s actually a matchup thing. Puff gets turned around when she gets hit with falcon up b, even if it trades and the grab doesn’t finish
So she can nair into falcon dive, trade with it, and combo into back air

@@lucaschneider9515 as long as you have enough momentum and time to be in the same position, then the worst thing that would happen is probably what is already happening (with the Up+B briefly grabbing then turning Puff around)

Props to Bassmage. Edge-Guarding Falcon is literally the funnest part of the match up when your fighting him. Mid tiers are soo hype when they do well.

@@christianrowell1081 the angle that puffs forward throw sends at combined with puffs amazing edge guards makes it extremely difficult for him to get back when thrown off stage at pretty much every percent, as we got to see throughout this set

Fun fact, thats the angle that down smash sends if it doesn't send the opponent into tumble
You can get that angle consistently if the opponent is at a low enough knockback.
(I even made a whole spreadsheet on all the percent values for that angle, lol)

This match up is ass for falcon, so hard to combo jiggly and if you are off stage it's pretty much gg unless the jiggly messes up lol. Only saving grace is jiggly's weight and falcon's kill power but her size even makes that hard

Bassmage is just insane. I also play jigglypuff from time to time and let me tell you. You REALLY need to have excellent fundamentals like amazing di, spacing, reads, drifting to get something done with puff. If bassmage would pick up a better character, I can't imagine him not being a top 10 Player

I dunno if it was thee basemage but I fought someone with the same username online. They were Jiggs of course and I got destroyed. I had no idea what to do. He also ran Steve of which I cheesed a few wins which felt good.
He quite literally took advantage of a huge weakness on Falcon UpB's grab release animation from hit, and it quite literally gave him stocks.

Getting edguarded in this matchup is so annoying man. When I play puff though I am very liberal with my up smashes in neutral. And I use walk back raptor boost to catch puff regularly. She doesn’t really approach from too high up and her approach options in general are usually stuffed by it.
The only problem is you might die at 0 from a puff shielding raptor boost, because you can punish raptor boost with down air, which eventually combos into you being way off stage and at 47 percent
The level these two are players at is so far removed from your own that unfortunately your matchup experience would probably be useless.

Obviously what he was doing didn’t work so naturally that means there are alternative routes that would. Which is why I proposed some stuff. They’re not gods dude. They have the same game we do😂.

I know fatality isn’t EXTREMELY frustrated fighting against this guy. I always fight in center stage against puff. I don’t care. I will find a way to knock out puff in the center. I won’t chase him at all cuz he’ll grab you and push you out. It’s a weasel way to win honestly.

Bassmage's existence shows how limited Melee is.
Ultimate is more like a traditional fighter than any smash game while Melee just doesnt have the necessary depth of play to be e legit competitive game especially due to lack of defensive options
HBox is a top 5 all-time Melee player and cant do anything in any other smash game. Imagine Justin Wong, Punkdagod, Sonic Fox, Daigo, Yipes, Combofiend, Linkzorz, Lil Majin etc not being AT LEAST elite in every iteration of their own game
Melee just doesnt have the tools to prepare you for true competitive play as Melee is literally the COD of fighters. Highly casual twitchy fast pace shenanigans where lives evaporate. Melee players DONT KNOW HOW TO PLAY NEUTRAL because thats not required for casual fighters
