You and your Videos are a very helpful in setting up clickup with my assistant. Your tipps on automation as well as the status -> custom field approach really make my day. I am now much clearer on how I will set up my processes. Some Coffee is on the way ... Enjoy and thank you.
Layla, this was EXCELLENT - I loved it! The CU screen is easier to see, the process map was easy to understand, everything about it was so polished (not that you did a bad job before mind you - you have some serious doodling skillz.. ). I can confidently pass this on to my teammates and have them nodding their heads and uttering "Oh! That's what she means" instead of (anticipated) blank stares 😶Thank you SO MUCH for this content it's really awesome. I have loved this automation month and look forward to the rest.
So freakin useful Layla!!! I'm really becoming a fan of your videos. I even watch videos of yours that have nothing to do with what I use clickup for simply because you're so good at explaining that I learn something small from every video that even I find useful! You have a real talent for teaching this stuff and you're going to be one of those influencers who's going to make the TOPIC they teach more popular simply because of how passionate they are about it. You'll literally create your own market because of your talents. Seriously. Ok rant over. I just see you're destined for big things and really appreciate all you do! Had to tell you!
@@LaylaPomper They totally have! I mean it. You're gonna do great things, keep up the dedication and hard work you're putting in. It shows and it'll pay off!
This video came at the PERFECT time as every other video that I've found is very basic and doesn't go deep enough (thus, isn't very practical in keeping you on track). I've already implemented a lot of your tips and just wanted to come back and let you know how awesome you are. Thank you 🙏🏼
Watched this video yesterday, and everything just sort of clicked! The free blueprint is helpful and has a lot of great information, but for my needs it was a little too large scale, and I was struggling applying it. This workflow example, on the other hand, is really what I'm looking to do. Pick a task I have to do often, map it out so I can clearly see all of the ideal steps, and then start identifying what I should be doing, what ClickUp should be doing, what Integromat should be doing, etc. etc. To take an idea from the blueprint, Clickup and Integromat are my employees -- my personal assistants. Started trying out Whimsical, and I agree, it is fantastic! Really like how simple it is to pick up, work with and get the ideas out of my head, then move 'em around! I've got one good roadmap / workflow already done, and I'm going to start getting to work on implementing my automations, custom fields, yadda yadda! Super excited for what this is going to do for me -- less repetitive work for me, and more info and peace of mind for my clients! :-D Thank you so, so much Layla!!!
Love your videos as I always come away with something extra than I'd set out to learn. Today it was you can change board view to a custom field and not just the status - whoo hoo thank you :)
Great videos! Thank you! 2 questions: 1) We often go back and forth on a draft during a revision/approval process. How would you integrate that into this workflow? Would you set up automation in a backward direction as well? Example: Content Creation Flow STATUS FLOW: To-do & Done ACTION FLOW: Draft Media, Draft Copy, Internal Approve Media, Internal Approve Copy, Client Approval, Publish CUSTOM FIELD STAGES: Draft, Internal Review, Client Review, Schedule Would you set that if it goes from Internal Review BACK to Draft (ie. draft was rejected and needs revision) it should automatically send message and switch assignee back to drafter? 2) Additionally, we often have multiple stages happening at once with multiple assignees for each stage (a social media post may be in internal review stage for copy, but draft stage for media), which "Custom Field Stage" would the task as a whole be in, and how can we ensure the right assignee? I can only see my situation working with automated subtasks each part of the action flow and using the custom field stages for the parent task only, or each deliverable (like media and copy) have its own subtask and custom field approval custom field stages flow. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!
I have to ask!! How do you record your videos - do you script and teleprompt or bulletpoint. ??Y You are amazing! your videos have saved me a million times! THANK YOU
Thanks Layla. Great video! Just have to remember if I am going to watch you first thing in the office, I need a strong coffee to help my brain keep up. :-D
Just implemented this at our agency! Only question: when using an automation to change a due date for X days after the trigger, does that take into account weekends and, if so, how can we change that?
Hey! Just getting caught up on comments🙈 Great question! Using the automation to change a Due Date X days after the trigger does include weekends as days. Currently, there is no setting to skip weekends for automation. But as a workaround, if your tasks are always triggered on the same day, I would add the number of days to the automation to ensure the Due Date lands on a weekday. I hope this helps!
Could you explain what marketing buckets are also once it gets to the end what happens? when does it get to schedule then what happens? does it get automatically added to a calendar.. the person does it manually.. you kinds of skipped the end.
Hey Boss , I post your content into Notion and I noticed your Video has saved onboard images that are from a previous video ? possibly the template has saved thumb nails.
We've been scared to use Automations for our content creation/management because they've been a bit buggy in the past. But I think I'm going to commit to it. Just a few details to work out first: 1) Our content is in any of like 100 lists, but get shown on 1 master list based on the tags given ("content" and the content type). So throwing in automations to the entire workspace might be tricky. 2) Training my team on how it works!
Hi layla, awesome videos, do you think you could talk a little slower please on your detailed presentations - you talk so fast!!! seems like you are in a rush all the time..
This has been SO helpful. ClickUp has such steep learning curve but you broke things down so easily. Thank you!

That's correct! It's possible with Zapier!

Oh so happy to hear it!
Great videos! Thank you! 2 questions:
1) We often go back and forth on a draft during a revision/approval process. How would you integrate that into this workflow? Would you set up automation in a backward direction as well?
Example: Content Creation Flow
STATUS FLOW: To-do & Done
ACTION FLOW: Draft Media, Draft Copy, Internal Approve Media, Internal Approve Copy, Client Approval, Publish
CUSTOM FIELD STAGES: Draft, Internal Review, Client Review, Schedule
Would you set that if it goes from Internal Review BACK to Draft (ie. draft was rejected and needs revision) it should automatically send message and switch assignee back to drafter?
2) Additionally, we often have multiple stages happening at once with multiple assignees for each stage (a social media post may be in internal review stage for copy, but draft stage for media), which "Custom Field Stage" would the task as a whole be in, and how can we ensure the right assignee?
I can only see my situation working with automated subtasks each part of the action flow and using the custom field stages for the parent task only, or each deliverable (like media and copy) have its own subtask and custom field approval custom field stages flow. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!
1 - Exactly! Different structures work differently, but having triggers of WHEN stage reaches” Review” THEN that way direction doesn’t matter:
2 - If you have simultaneous steps you should either make multiple Stage columns (one per deliverable) or use Subtasks, yes!
I have to ask!! How do you record your videos - do you script and teleprompt or bulletpoint. ??Y You are amazing! your videos have saved me a million times! THANK YOU
I use bullet points in a premade template and I use the template every time.
Thanks Layla. Great video! Just have to remember if I am going to watch you first thing in the office, I need a strong coffee to help my brain keep up. :-D

Right now, that is a manual process. ☺️
