Not only did i follow the video but also recorded myself just to make certain of returning everything to its original order. But, I have to come do it all again 3 years later because for some reason, the added RAM sticks are not registering when I pull up the specs.
After seeing this ram replacement tutorial video, I change my plan from do it myself to just paying someone to do this work. Poor user un-friendly design by hp...huhh

It is by design. They want you to spend money at Best Buy or whatever, or buy a newer laptop. I think Pocahauntas was running that place prior.

This was my big brother's laptop, and i just cant accept it stopped working.
I gave it to repairs. And i am trying to build a mini laptop with the mother board now. Hopefully i can build one. Even if i hv most latest gpu in laptop, i just cant make myself forget this laptop . Its just dear to me .

As someone who works in the tech industry, I'm more annoyed HP doesn't simply add a RAM access door to upgrade memory.
I can do this but it's a needless waste to just plug in more RAM.
Everyday users are not going to be able to do this on their own. Ridiculous...
I have one of these HP laptops. It was given to me. It is apparent to me that HP does not want customers DIY upgrades. That is why I have been a fan of Dell. Anyways, I will have to study this video some more before I decide to embark on this journey. I worked in tech manufacturing and testing, so I have some perspective. I was a test tech guy, didn't do much handling the delicate stuff, got to have steady hands.
This is the long way to do the job.
An easy way is to keep it together and remove the bottom panel.
Keeping the motherboard connected to the keyboard assembly.
This will also save you from taking apart all the ports and ribbon cables.
Good advice for those doing the upgrade is to add a fresh CMOS battery to the motherboard.
How do you figure? I don't think it's possible to do as to say and remove the bottom panel only, seeing as it's less a panel and more the whole ass case holding the whole thing together awith a keyboard panel slapped on top.
thats why, as a IT TECH for many years, I never do LAPTOP repairs! I worked for HP and DELL, my god, a nightmare of screws and plugs!
One screw to unfasten a cover, and BAM, you had access to HDD and RAM. Soon, we'd have to join the farmers in the Right to Repair Act.

Подскажите, пожалуйста, на ноутбук HP Pavilion 15-p007sr, каким образом можно найти спецификации оперативной памяти, чтобы поставить больший объём, но с теми же параметрами?
На самом деле с оперативной памятью все просто, смотрите какая была установлена в вашем ноутбуке и покупаете с такой же шиной. Главное что бы поколение оперативной памяти совпадало, а во всем остальном, будет исправно работать. здравствуйте, отдавали этот ноутбук мастеру, на ремонт (не определялась одна планка озу). он все сделал, все было нормально, но спустя всего две недели она опять исчезла из характеристик винды и биоса. Решил самостоятельно посмотреть что там происходит и открутил все "болтики" кроме одного. Зараза мастер перекрутил его, теперь никак не получается высунуть его оттуда. Резьба сорвана, нужен ваш совет.

форм-фактора mSata - нет, а вот 2,5 - да, можно на место базового жесткого диска, который в свою очередь можно оставить в ноутбуке установив его в карман на место привода
Я уже немного разобрался, что здесь нет места для mSata (просто в другом моём ноуте Lenovo Y580 я установил mSata, а здесь подойдёт только SSD как для стационарников. А там есть на месте привода место куда прикрутить диск? Спасибо за помощь и видеообзор.
я наверное не совсем правильно объяснил: есть такая штука "dvd hdd caddy" как то так обычно именуется, ставится на место привода, в нее можно вставить жесткий диск, они бывают 12,7мм и 9мм (слим), для Вашего ноутбука нужна слим (9мм.)
