    Actually the sun converts 600 MILLION tons of hydrogen in to hellium every second not only 600 tons. Source wikipedia: "The Sun currently fuses about 600 million tons of hydrogen into helium every second"

      Hello! :) So this would be the classification:
      TYPE STAR
      0 or Ia+ hypergiants or extremely luminous supergiants
      Ia luminous supergiants
      Iab intermediate-size luminous supergiants
      Ib less luminous supergiants
      II bright giants Beta Leporis
      III normal giants
      IV subgiants
      V main-sequence stars (dwarfs)
      sd (prefix) or VI subdwarfs
      D (prefix) or VII white dwarfs
      Not exactly one "normal"

      I always thought that too. There's no name for _medium_ size stars! :P
      Our sun was called a "dwarf" at first because it SEEMED on the smaller side, because the big stars were the only ones we could see. It wasn't until we had better telescopes that we found out that actually the MAJORITY of stars in the universe were smaller than the sun, but by then the "yellow dwarf" name had stuck so we keep using it anyway. :P

    I watched a lecture about how our sun is actually white in coloration, it simply appears orange due to the filters on some photographers' cameras. When you look at the sun at noon high in the sky, it appears whiter, but as it sets appears more orange due to the distance along the horizon. The light beam travels farther to reach our eye, and so the blues, greens, and violets become scattered, leaving only oranges, reds, and yellows. That's why sunsets are always darker shades of those colors when we see them, and appear much brighter whitish/yellow during the day. I never noticed this, but it's so true. Additionally, clouds and other particles in the horizon can distort the coloration we see because the light is reflected/bent by them...

    u mentioned orange dwarfs in the beginning but forgot to describe them later... they r the best stars for supporting life as we know it.. all i remember about orange dwarf is they r very much like our sun “yellow dwarf” in size and mass but live longer, so astronomers think orange dwarfs are the best option for us to someday move to

    Gave you a like. Text of the presentation was clear, concise and informative. Visual graphics were often off point, distracting and amounted to visual noise. While some images were spectacular they did not inform. Oh, and "shedded"? I don't believe that is an actual word. :)

    Kelvins, degrees Fahrenheit, degrees Celsius...nice of you to to try to use every unit of temperature you could think of, but you did miss quite a few. Since we're dealing with plasma physics on the surface of the sun, how about electron volts (eV/keV/MeV)? Or maybe degrees Rankine, Delisle, Newton, Reaumur, or Romer? How about just pick one...and stick with it? If you are dealing with very low temperatures, Kelvins make sense, as that scale is based on absolute zero. But, when you are dealing with very high temperatures, the (relatively) small 273 degrees difference between C and K is trivial, so it doesn't make much sense to use Kelvins, other than people just think it is cool and want to sound very scientific. Degrees C and F are much better suited for higher temperatures, but you do need to ensure you pick the correct one, as at the temperatures germane to this video there is a 1.8x factor between degrees C and F. With that, I leave you with these HUMBLE words of wisdom: WAYNE'S WORLD! WAYNE'S WORLD! PARTY TIME! EXCELLENT!!!!

    A red/brown dwarf star is basically a gas giant planet but with a bloated plasmasphere glowing red, mostly in infrared spectrum. Planets orbiting inside plasmasphere are hidden from telescopes, also its plasmasphere can vary in size which makes it difficult to determine the actual size of such stars. Life on its earth-like planets will be adapted to infrared spectrum. Also getting captured by main sequence star is bad news for such stars as they will lose their red glow causing earth-like planets to freeze.

    Since it's a science channel I wouldn't mind if the video was more accurate. It had all kinds of things put there with "artistic freedom" that just weren't true such as the black hole featured when talking about our sun and its death.

    The most massive star known, R136a1, is a dwarf, by definition, since it is fusing hydrogen in its core. It is approximately 196 solar masses and 4,677,000 times its luminosity. (cf Wikipedia and the "Oxford Dictionary of Astronomy")

    The sun does not give off much yellow light, in fact the sun gives off more green light then any. Green dwarf? Because green is near the middle of visible light spectrum, the other colors combine to appear white. Red dwarfs give off more red light, but half of its light is in the infrared spectrum and invisible to our eyes, is why appears red like it should.

      Billions of dollars wouldn't be enough. You'd need the technology to enable you to make a spacecraft capable of lasting millions of years and stay functional. You also would need to be immortal so that you can wait for the results to come back.

    Right it may appear yellow but that's the particles it's actually the atmosphere that surrounds the planet that makes it look like it's a red or yellow hue this is not the actual color of the planet this is why it's

      Not exactly, there are many differences between them
      White dwarfs are formed from the collapse of low mass stars, less than about 10 time the mass of the Sun. This star loses most of its mass in a wind, leaving behind a core that is less than 1.44 solar mass. On the other hand, neutron stars are formed in the catastrophic collapse of the core of a massive star.

    This isn't accurate at all. The hypothetical minimum for a red dwarf are 78-80 Jupiter Mass. Not 75.

    M,,K,G,F,A,B,O main sequence stars. Why would you go from M type to brown dwarf to G type? Your only gonna confuse the shit outta people who are trying to learn this and it's already confusing normally. You really should redo this video. Sorry but it gets a 👎

    Termerature is not related to mass. Nothing within the realm of human experience can demonstrate this so all of this is a lot of “hot air” as gas will never collapse under its own weight. Again this defies the definition of a gas. The entire time of observation has been dozens of years yet it is claimed it is know what has happened billions of years before and after now up to (it is claimed) one trillionth of a trillionth of a second after it all started. This is like those who watch 5sec of a movie and claim they know how it started and how it will end but those who make such claims don’t even know what they are even looking at for those 5 sec. And these are the berries of the truth? Stars are akin to a flame. The cleaner the burn the higher the vibration🌈 and are power electrically by the wireless induction of power from the plasmoid at the galactic center. This receives it’s energy from that which is above the galactic realm and so on, as above so below. The same rules that govern the very large govern the very small and this is electromagnetism.
