      I wouldn’t do RT school!!! DO NOT RT SCHOOL! Ive been RRT for 6 years and its a horrible job,little to no respect in the hospitals, just follow doctor orders and nurse boss you around. Go for something else

      @@allen2879 This speaks volumes to your skill as an RT.. or lack thereof I should say. This attitude is exactly why you don't enjoy your job or feel respected in the profession. You don't hold yourself to a standard.. you obviously haven't continued to improve upon the basic skills learned in RT school. If you graduated and have coasted since then just turning knobs per a doctor's order, then why should you be respected as a valuable member of the team? You are contributing absolutely nothing. Do better man. Don't discourage young minds from pursuing an awesome career path just simply based upon your own experience.

    I'm still an RT student but i could see myself working as a PA, especially with a focus on critical care or the pulmonary system if possible...the only thing stopping me is that would not be able to stop working and the stress of PA and working as an RT scares. Ive thought about the possibility of doing Prn work twice a week so i can get 24 hours a week. I just dont know if i can handle it ! 😥 lol

    • @SamKellyPA
      @SamKellyPA  3 года назад +6

      Once you start working as an RT you’ll know of going back to school to be a PA is for you:) I def do not recommend working while in pa school. I would def be failing with even 1 12 hr shift a week. You need to utilize your free time studying and with friends and family. I use loans for my tuition and cost of living (rent, food etc.). Not working and living off loans is just part of the sacrifice of going to pa school so you def have to weigh that when deciding to go back to school!

      @godlysowah9678 4 года назад

      @@SamKellyPA I've strongly been wanting to study in the US as i see the scope of study is alot broader than in the UK curriculum for PA school. For me, the one main thing that is deterring me from studying in the US is the expenses! Then along with the applications, transcripts, tests, visa sorting etc that ive got to do 😂 granted i have three years to figure this all out. However, in the UK all i need realistically is £500 to pay for PA school because bursaries and and a 10,000 masters loan will cover the cost for 1.5 of the 2 year program. The US is still in the cards but i guess ill go with the flow and see where i end up 🤷🏾‍♂️😂

    • @EduardoGarcia-yd8qr

      A degree in biology will qualify you for Perfusion assistant school, physician assistant school, qualify you to become a medical lab scientist . so thats a great option...it is a very tough degree but still possible

    • @SamKellyPA
      @SamKellyPA  3 года назад +1

      It will vary from school to school bc every schools degrees have different requirements! but if you look up common pa school prereqs (bio 1&2, chem1&2, biochem, orgo 1, psych, etc) prob a biochem major or biomed would prob align best.

      First, make sure your prospective programs accept online science prereqs and online labs. A lot of programs explicitly list this on their website.
