I miss the simplicity of wild spawns, in large quantities, and you could play for hours clicking things. I’m so tired of eggs, raids, gmax and dmax raids, paid tickets. I used to play so much when I could run around and click all the things or do simple research like ‘make 5 great throws’. As someone who’s played since 2017, I’m just kinda over it lol. I can tell content creators are too.
Totally with you day 1 player myself and its the micro transactions also (sell sell sell) that are ruining the game for me 😞
The max stuff and all the micro transactions have made the game less fun for me.
Recently moved house and I went from a decent little cluster on my house, to living in a place where the map isn't updating, so the road I live on doesn't even exist. Mind you, we had this house built, and the address was on Google before it was even done.
I don't bother playing anymore. I've been vocal, maybe overly so, about how absolute shit this game is now. The Max mons being basically its own game inside of Go has become such a drag. It definitely was an _attempt_ at making something interesting, but they didn't. People have complained about the combat for a while, and while the Max battles are different, they aren't different enough. Max mons being essentially useless outside of Max battles is also indescribably stupid on so many levels.
It just feels so lazy and dragged out. I've seen the same Pokemon spawning, the same events, the same egg pools, the same raids. I feel like I'm watching myself going insane trying to find the fun in this game anymore.

Every debut Pokemon is behind eggs now. Every event is ticketed. Every shiny is easier from raids/eggs. Day 1 player but lately I feel like Pokemon Go in 2025 isn't for me I guess.

Either this year will be the year of changes and going back to having fun from 3-4 years ago, or PoGo will be almost dead. Paid event after paid event, locking stuff behind raids/eggs/paid research, its not funny anymore, its annoying af. I literally gave up on the game, played for like 6 years and now I dont care about it anymore
the game has been completely lackluster and boring for several months but ive been almost absent since december began. nothing is wild anymore, raids are boring. at this point im just logging in once, maybe take a short walk to put mons in gyms and that's all i do for the day.
Worse than this is Steeled Resolve. People were hyped up to try and get Corviknight, only for it to be locked behind eggs and lures?
Plus Sprigatito day which I didn't play at all with their increased ticket costs, etc.
I am not sure if Niantic realizes, or even cares, how many "Year 1" players are really about to stop dialing back on spending real money, let alone even playing, these events.
Getting ridiculous.
If I can catch a shiny Furfrou I'll be happy, cause my shiny dex gets bugged when selecting Furfrou
Any event with the focus on pokemons with ridiculous clothes is boring. The most stupid thing in this game by far.

Everything is a paid ticket nowadays and they wild spawns have been trash. Nothing is available to get for free anymore, have to spend on eggs or raids to get all new things

last summer i moved to a rural town and the game is pretty much dead here, in town there are 3 showcase stops and i win all three pretty much all the time, its nice to get all the free stuff but at this point i dont really care
Same. I moved a few years ago and the game has been unplayable for me. There is no one to raid with so I haven't gotten a new pokemon in ages... except fidough... which had a total of 3 spawns so not enough to get candy for evolving. I just don't enjoy playing anymore. Rural players are just being punished with everything being locked behind raids
If you're wondering why some places have more/less Pokemon than usually, spawnpoints have changed yesterday or so!
Man what happened to this game with events that were actually good.
Fyi, a bunch of spawn points changed yesterday morning. I got a bunch of new house spawns but maybe where you were lost a bunch in it.
It's more fun clicking on it than just doing raids and tasks. Everything new seems to be behind eggs. I no longer go out as much to play as all the events are dull and boring.
Something is off with the spawns i usually get 5-6 spawns at my home spot. from the past day ive seen no spawns, also the neighbourhood spawns are reduced.
The spawnpoints have changed! Some got removed, some got added, some stayed the same. Lately this happens around once per year and it just happened yesterday or so

Niantic is embarrassing, just admit it, "hey f we lost alot money from remote passes change so were going to paywall tour game even more because were in hot waters of going bankrupt"
Hey ZoëTwoDots. Happy Friday to you in Australia. It has been a crazy 24 hours since the wildfires happening in SoCal. I’m hoping all our friends are safe and sound and evacuated from the area safe. It’s another sad thing happening and it’s just the first full week of 2025. I hope this ends soon. Anyway, great to see you on here again. The Fashion Week event definitely seems to be boring with the current spawns but at least we’ll have the TGR Take Over soon and Mega Gallade is very exciting for me because I have a Lucky Shundo Gallade with me ready for Mega Evolution! Best of luck to you on the raids and sending my thoughts and prayers to all the people who are affected by the wildfires in Cali.

I checked campfire a few times recently and the nearby area has near zero raids.
I have noticed a few times they've synced up raids to the hour / half hour though as I find loads hitting 9am and then nothing at 945 for example... It could be bad timings? It does suck when there's nothing going on to go and do though
I really thought Furfrou would be more common if not I'll skip the event there's nothing enticing me to really grind.
I’m just doing this event for stardust and to max out my lucky hundo Dragonite.

I agree with you on the spawns. I swear Niantic doesnt want us to have anything in the wild anymore. Everything has to be paid to get. Especially looking at the new Steely Spirits or whatever event they announced where most of the wild spawns are comm day pokemon and everything is basically "these pokemon are all good for PVP, go out and get them" but they've been featured in SO MANY events I'm honestly just sick of them. I dont want to see Paldean Wooper or Mareanie ever again lol Honestly the game is getting to the point where every time they announce a new event and theres nothing fun to hunt in the wild I dont even want to open the game. And this after christmas and Halloween is MORE costumes that just dont really matter unless you specifically collect costumes so it's like "yay another week of doing my daily stuff and then not really carrying about the game"

For the last year everyone I know doesn't play on the last one standing and I don't I don't do any raids anymore because I don't have a community to do it with anymore and having my disability makes it hard to walk a lot so honestly everything is so much money and with not having that much anymore since my husband passed I'm on the verge of just deleting it out of my phone too as much as I loved it I don't think I want to play anymore they took away the thrill the fun then joinment out of it

I got lucky and got a friend raid invite from a friend in New Zealand and got a hundo costume Minccino.. not gonna evolve it as its my 2nd ever hundo costume pokemon ever, so its more of a memorial :> (it was on my 2nd raid from the same friend in New Zealand :D )

SO, THE PHOTOBOMB POKEMON POKEMON FESTIVAL ROTOM IS GENERATION 4 TOO, THIS TIME WILL BE ALL FORM ROTOM CAN BE PHOTOBOMB DURING POKEMON FESTIVAL 2026.ALSO ALL FORM ROTOM CAN BE APPEAR AS LEVEL 3 RAID BOSS DURING POKEMON FESTIVAL 2026.
I am not too excited about Dynamax Legendary Pokemon and Black & White Kyurem but i i am really excited the ways how Niantic plans to obtaining these Pokemon for its Pokemon Go players .
Dynamax Legendary Pokemon will be level 5 Max Raid so it should be hard but not too hard like Gigantamax raid. It will be all max raid Pokemon down just it had 4 players if not had the right strategy. Or the mechanic must change to allow more than 4 players for defeat Dynamax Legendary Pokemon.
Fusion dragons Pokemon Black Kyurem & White Kyurem probably will be Pokecoin DEVOUR Pokemon like what mechanics in Fusion Necrozma..
I used to defend niantic more, but its becoming more and more apparent that there is zero effort being out into these events. It wouldnt hurt to "retire" these old costumes and just introduce half a dozen new ones each year to give people more to chase.
Putting new releases behind payealls of raids/eggs is a toxic way to do things.
The change to spawn points is bad. Why take them away, why not just add more?
They dont appear to listen to the community in any way. Ive nit seen a community lead, or someone to stand in front of us and be accountable.
I could go on with this list, theres that many issues. I coukd quit, but i love Pokémon and have played this game since day ine, so im not going to.
Even the content creators, like Zoë are struggling to produce regular positive content. Does Niantic not watch these videos?
I'm just getting so bored with it. Its all pay to access stuff now and new spawns are so rare (and usually stuck behind pay to access - eggs, raid, etc.). I'm sick of the costume pokémon. Niantic are just draaaaaging the game out as long as possible

If you do PvP, Bruxish is an otherwise rare spawn that has great usage in some limited metas. Useless for most of them, but the ones it is good for it will absolutely decimate in.
I got the shiny Minccino from the first research task I completed but its not one and done as need a 2nd to evolve. I got the shiny Shinx from the collection challenge, which is a nice one and done. Completed 3 of the Shinx raids and a Furfrou raid, no Minccino raids in sight for the entire afternoon here.

Only raids I saw worth it in auckland was dragonite . So ehh , I wasn't to inspired with this event either
