I've been running a 2022 Spectral CF9 since November. It's heaven!
Do you like it on easier, tighter trails? How is it to pedal uphill?
@@MikaHakkinen83 yep, love it for all trails. I came from a 2020 Giant Advanced Pro 29 0. That was 130/115 travel, and I was worried about the climbing on the 160/150 Spectral. But I honestly have zero regrets, I'm really happy with the bike.

Been thinking of these short suspension bikes too - Giant, Transition Spur, Neuron etc but we have a lot of roots and I read Spectral's rear suspension works great on chattery trails. Kinda flat here but short ups and downs and a lot of chatter and tight turns. Have a Spectral CFR on order, was 5800€ on BF discount. Full XTR and Factory with DTS XMC1200's, should be fast to sprint too. Not a race/downhill rider but like to ride longer trails and be outside and in the nature.

Love my Spectral 29! Totally surprised you do not have a Lyrik instead of that Pike with how hard and fast you ride Jack.
I was thinking the same, must be for more of a trail bike feel.
@@rickgreenhalgh1357 the weird part is that the new pike comes up to 140mm, while the spectral has 150mm.

SuperAwesome What kind of trails do you ride it on? Myself kinda short ups and downs here with tight turns and a lot of roots. Also winter riding. Not an enduro or downhill rider but we have a trail center which I will try when I get the bike. Have a Spectral CFR on order.
Muc off sealant, sram breaks, centerlock hubs with 6-holes rotors...all things i'd do differently. That said, what a wonderful machine!

Thanks for the vid. Greasing the carbon head tube - I though this is a no-no as it softens the carbon layers? Surprised torque wrench not used everywhere. The bikes I see you on other videos has an extra cable on the left handside - what is it for please? Cheers
It's ok, as long as you use carbon safe grease (they usually don"t have petroleum derivates in them), Muc-Off Biogrease for example.
What's the point using a torque wrench if it clicks then you give it some more for good measure ? 1:41, in fact it looks like it is already past the torque setting because it clicks before it even turns, then he gives it some more 💪💪.

There are center-lock rotors from SRAM, you know.
At 7:26, that white plastic piece that's in between the eagle gear and the jockey wheel on the derailleur...can anyone tell me what that's for? My Spectral came with one too but I have no idea what it is lol.

Good on Canyon for the BSA bottom bracket!
But he did not line up these ridiculous valve-core-tool-shaped valve caps on the otherwise good DT Swiss tubeless valves! Jack, that costs you aerodynamic efficiency! These are like tiny little airbrakes spinning round and round and round a gazillion times during a season - it adds up! 😉
P.s this isn’t his race rig , pretty sure he uses the strive
