I don’t understand why they toned everything down in Bayo 3. The sexuality, the story, the damn end game dance… basically everything outside of gameplay. Seriously, Bayonetta’s ENTIRE BRAND is over-the-top, sexy, DMC-style violence - it’s not like the franchise could ever be anything less than M-Rated just by concept alone. Honestly wild how they messed it up.
Sorta, the singer for Moonlight Seranade was just not good at all. It sounded like she was singing through her nose and grated on the ears really badly compared to songs like Moon River.
Ok that’s what I thought too. I didn’t realize since I was so into the gameplay that she didn’t have as much swagger as before. It didn’t bother me at first but looking back on Bayo 1 & 2 her sexuality got toned down by “a lot” at least compared to the other games standards.
OG Bayo 2 is better than Bayo 2/3. She’s faster, taller, her hits are harder/have more weight, and her exaggerated runway walk is perfect. Bayo 3 is a fun game but it definitely missed a couple of marks on what makes a Bayonetta game a Bayonetta game. Bayo in 3 can be toned down because she’s a different Bayonetta entirely. But when the game brings in the Bayonettas from 1 and 2, they shouldn’t be toned down too.
Exactly. I hope if they do patches or dlc they can fix the game and let it run 1080p. The very least smooth out the graphics. Gameplay is awesome but compared to devil may cry 5 ps4. Version the game looks are cut from a different cloth.

She's not taller in 2 you half-wit. The camera is slightly farther in Bayo 3 than in 2, making her look ever so slightly smaller on screen. You litteraly have the comparison before your eyes and you can see that the proportions are exactly the same (meaning she appears slightly smaller in height but also in width). Also I really couldn't feel what you meant by "her hits are harder/have more weight". She indeed is slightly faster tho, _that's_ undeniably true.

Yeah. I noticed that too! Removing air to ground dodge offset was a baffling move. It removes a lot of the combo complexity. I also hate that offsetting an attack with an Umbran Spear will now automatically convert your grounded combo into an aerial combo, even on grounded opponents. In a few ways, Bayo 3 watered down the combat system that I think Bayo 2 perfected. But at least they introduced a few new mechanics.

Of all the things they changed in Bayo 3, I couldn't believe they removed those moves that involved holding down ZR. They were so satisfying and I would use them alot, even in situations that didn't helped much but made me look badass.

FYI, in Bayo 2 there was a trick with witch twist allowing you to gain infinite height, this was patched in Bayo 3 by making the midair version semispike all vertical momentum and would auto-cancel vertical height gain to only output one hit.
i mean it also depends on how they recorded it. if they recorded in docked mode or hand held mode. that being said i prefer the vibrancy of the colors in bayo 3 and i also think the models in bayo 3 are a mixed bag. I find bayo 2's model in b3 to be worse then 2, but bayo 1's model is a massive improvement compared to bayo 1 probably because they added make up to her face and its just overall better because its a massive time difference of technology.

Does anyone find that the butterfly steps have become too noticable? In the first game that only appeared when landing, in Bayo 2 they appered with every step and had a dim glow too bit it was quite subtle but in 3 they are really noticeable, too much glow, the butterflies are barely transparent and they even appear in cut scenes, also the in game kick a hit effects also appear in cut scenes, they just don't work there. Also why do the flowers glow when panther running?
I believe it like that due to all cutscene being in game in bayo 3 the last two have cinematic cutscene but yeah I hate how the buterfly steps are now in your face rather than being a subtle detail when she lands removes the magic from them
Looking at the punches, it feels it doesn't have the same brutality as the second game due to the sound being toned down which helps a lot in showing the strong force of Bayonetta especially with Madama Butterfly's infinite climax. Now they dimmed her down to kitty slashes.
To all of those saying the game's quality got nerfed this is because Bayonetta 3 has much more demon scenes in it and all the high definition was given to them

Just give us the colors from 3 and give the combat of 1. I adore all of the extra effects for attacks in 3, the glowing flowers for panther within, the blue butterflies when she walks instead of the ones from bayo 1, the flash of blue when finishing a combo with a wicked weave.

You need to buy the upgrade for the respictive gun, in crow form press A for the circle of fethers and Y to summon fethers projectiles, pressing Y again in any form allows you to shoot the fethers

When Bayonetta 1&2 were ported to Switch and the resolution stayed at 720p, this should have been an indication that the 3rd game wasn't going to look much better. In a lot of ways, Bayonetta 3 actually looks graphically worse than the predecessors. Platinum decided to increase the scale of the areas significantly and upped the rendering resolution by 12%. Basically the scale and scope of the game went beyond what the hardware could do. Its still a terrific game, but graphically speaking the choices they made for a less visually appealing experience.
Yall this is hard... both games are fantastic. Of course OG B2 look crispier because graphics werent an issue for it's platform, B3 had to have graphics and resolution lowered. Her idle in B3 is beautiful lol...
B3 won awards despite our opinions. The game speed had to slow down a lil bigger bosses and set pieces. The bosses in B3 were the best of the series and DMC. The Janne episodes gave us a refreshing break. Viola did well. B2 needed to improve bc of Wii U. B2 push sales of switch B3 needed to have fun Boss battles. I'm looking for B4 when she kick ass and return to the land of the living

The loss in quality between them for the models themselves is insane. I thought they looked sharper on 3 but it seems they are sharper on 2.

The flowers are a reference to Okami, a game that Platinum made when they were known as Clover Studios.
