I really loved the firt moss scape... in this new version, the gsp between the rocks is perhaps a bit too wide, so the composition doesn't follow the "golden cut". But I love the stones themselves and the mixture of the different rotalas looks amazing. Great fishchoice, too, the scarlet badis are so cute ❤ I think the second version is even better than the first one
Man... I truly love your work ! For me the hardscape of the last one looked better, but the planting and the stocking of this one made me prefer this new version ! By the way the cinematic shots at the end are beautiful, some macro shot are really impressive : it's like there is no glass between your lens and inside the tank !
I love these moss formations, they remind me a lot of karst mountains! I do prefer the layout of the previous scape - the deep shadow in the midground and the inward tilt of the right rock formation gave a lot of depth to the aquascape and made it seem more dramatic. However the clean look of the current scape is also beautiful and highlights the stone.
Missing the Pinnatafida - my favourite! in the 2nd one, it adds so much interest...foreground is very plain in the second, so would have to go with the original, I like mixtures of plants :)
Hey Mj ! I really like the balance between the rocks. One covered in moss and the other one still has some rock showing. If they were both covered it would look too symmetrical. As always great work and creativity❤️
Hi MJ, I really like your new scape because you mixed up three different mosses together to create what I think is naturally chaotic and I love that they grow in the way you showed us. I am a big lover of ricardia moss but would never able to grow them in clumps rather in long strings and less dense even in a co2 tank with Chihiros A series light. Really hope that if you could share how you manage them in terms of any special trimming or care for them? Thank you for always creating new content to inspire us!
This one is great! I think I might use that technique on my next tank. I'm about to set up a sunken forest style display tank in my living room and I want lot's of moss. So that paint-on technique should work great!
This is a tough one, but I agree with you MJ. The first one's composition is a bit more interesting so that is my favorite. But I really like this one too! The reds in the back are super cool and I kind of like how the moss hasn't overtaken the lavarock on the left side. Both are beautiful!
many things need clarification: 1- for moss in general all types, can spread in tank and make mess and attached in everything specifically plants which can hurt it? 2- how to prevent dropping slop soil , as noticed you don't add plastic barriers? 3- you have recorded video you advised strongly for dark start, but you do reverse? 4- you remineralized ro water with apt sky which rich in elements to reach around 120 ppm, so what is necessity of using liquid fertilizer ? or should minimize using of liquid? 5- you declared in previous videos you advice using all in one fertilizer, so shall using extra seperate potassium dosing? 6- I seen in hi tech tanks cardina shrimp (e.g. red crystal) and as known these tank need big water change weekly say 50%, so is cardina shrimp tolerate this big water change? 7- for tropica substrate the mentioned the upper layer gravel not soil , may be to prevent leaching in water , could you clarify it? thanks
1. Yes all moss types can spread and make a mess, especially when you trim them. That's why I prefer to use mosses that grow very slowly. 2. In this scape the slope is held in place by all the plant roots, and there is no need for plastic barriers. 3. I still recommend the dark start method! I don't do it myself because it takes a few weeks, and I'm already planning my scapes weeks in advance. 4. APT Sky and liquid fertilizer are two different things. APT Sky is used to prepare RO water and adds mostly calcium and magnesium. 5. For most people an All In One fert is the best option. But if you want to boost the colours of your red plants a ''lean dosing method'' with potassium and micro nutrients can be very beneficial. 6. I think the more people breed these shrimp the easier they become to keep. In the past you could only keep caridina on RO with low tds and ADA Amazonia substrate. Now I see people selling cardinia shrimp that have been bred on tap water... so yeah I think Caridina shrimp can tolerate big water changes, but it depends where you get them. 7. Yeah correct, for this type of substrate a cap with sand or gravel is recommended, but I've been using it with soil for a while now and without any issues.
Really loved this one, in my opinion it looks better than the original, also loved the final cinematic shots. I would love to see more shots like this in future videos 🙌🏻
I agreee that the previous composition was better, but the plant choices in this one will end up looking better. Youve figured out what works and what causes issues previously, so the only way to go from here is up! 😊 Also, can we get an update of the bamboo scape please?! Thats been my favorite of yours
I find both very beautiful. The way some of the plants filled in was more appealing in the first layout, but your inhabitant choices were better for this new layout. You Chili Rasboras are so vibrant and healthy looking ❤️
This one looks more natural than the previous one. I mean, the old one looked good too, but if you manage to keep the rocks not completely covered with moss, it will look amazing, natural and full of details! I really like it!
I like both of them, and I am sure it is fast and impossible to make the exactly ones. I like that they are different, and I like to see how plants mature over time. Your aquascapes are very clean, so transparent no other particles, just clean water - and they look ideal. I would like to watch a cave created by you. Thank you.
2020 has a more natural vibe, and I love that 2024 looks a bit too artificial, but has superb plants and the colors are so vibrant Tough choice, but 2020 wins for me
Always love your videos huge fan from India love your work. If you ever came to India I will take you to one of the biggest aquarium market. And I bet you will love that.
Again a winner scape! 👍👍👍 Though, I'd take the Otos out since the sharp edges of lava rocks might harm their barbels. I've had Buces melt soon after planting also recently but am convinced that I bought infected Anubias alongside with them. Another idea for melting, and I am quessing here, is too much nutrients in the water column during the initial stages. Would like to hear you guys commenting on this issue.
Both are very beautyfull. I have a new aquarium which i gonna start whit after the vacation . After this video i think i gonna make two rocks full of moss for the left and right side and a big dragon stone in the middle and combine that whit your plant setup(the aquarium is 80cm wide). Thank you for the inspiration. Would You recommand to plant al plants after cycling the tank?
The rocks of the old one with the Amano style Glosso and hair grass mix from this one. Next I want to see an old school Amano style with tons of Riccia and pearl weed!
Nice & peaceful. I'm planning a lava rock & rusty slate tank with a nice theme of black & red, nano fish & shrimp. 😎 If I had the space & money, I would love to get an old, 3-tiered lobster tank & do a lava-themed waterfall, paludarium & aquarium combo.
This looks absolutely fantastic! Glad to see you bring this style scape back. I was bummed you took the other one down, but this one looks even better.
the tortoise moss is phenomenal, the overall layout was better in the previous though, but im looking forward to fully covered moss rocks with this one
I like both. The current one is more natural and slightly underdeveloped as an ecosystem - I'd like to see it again sometime later. And the previous one was so nicely covered with beautiful moss that I had to hunt for the same moss for my tank :)
Very nice natural aquascapes in the both tanks. I love the 2nd one. May I know at the initial startup 1st-3rd week, how intense is your lighting? Do you use any liquid fertilizer during this 2-3 weeks since you got so many nutrients on the soil? I love your videos always showing the ugly sides of the initial planted situation in reality.
Your original moss tank was the reason I originally subscribed, not sure anything can beat that for me. However, your new scape is pretty damn awesome. Thanks for sharing. I would also be very interested to find out how you recovered after the first 10 days.
Siempre me encantó ese acuario, estaba precioso. Y el de ahora me sigue encantando, cada uno tiene algo que le hace espectacular. Grandísimo trabajo, y gracias por traerlo de nuevo ❤
This was always my favorite of your early videos. So glad to see it updated and I literally just bought a new UNS 45T to make an improved tank for my betta
I definitely like the new scape much better. I like your choice of inhabitants too. I really enjoyed the ending with just closeup views of the tank with music playing. You need to continue to do this. Your scapes are so beautiful, so the extra video is wonderful.
You need to put up some specific details on how your co2 and light settings! How do you get such perfect balance? How long is the co2 on? How long are the lights on? What % brightness are you using on the light?
Light is on full power for 8 hours per day! 13:00 till 21:00 Co2 is on from 11:00 till 20:00, not counting bubbles per second, but adding enough to make a dropchecker go nice and light green.
I prefer the plant choices of this one, but think it's too symmetrical in its composition. If the line down the middle curved and narrowed to one side it would have added depth. Great scape though.
I like the first one a little bit better, if I had to take care of any of the two tanks then that would be the second one, the first looked a little more time consuming 😬
Hi MJ! Love this scape. Just wanted to ask what types of lily pipes you used and their diameter as they look small and perfect for nano tanks. Thanks in advance!
I feel the new one has better plant selection but worse hardscape composition? The left lavarock feels too dominant, my instinct would have been to try to make the right one taller (so you'd have fat and short on the left vs tall and skinny on the right). I don't know if this would've been the right choice? All in all, both have their charms, and the rasboras are really cute :)
Love both of them! But the second looks a bit "good kid followng the rules" to me, misses something spicy. I think the middle path is too straight, if the rocks had been positioned one a bit more to the back than the other, it could have given a more tortuous path. Just my opinion of course! Your work is amazing as always

Previous aquascape is my favorite, fissidence moss looks so good.
Hi mj I was wondering if you could do an epiphite tank only❤
Both are beautiful but I liked more the new one. 😃
Happy to see you recreate this scape, I loved the original but I think this one is a mark above. By far one of my favourites you have made so far😃
Thanks a lot mate :)
Terrariumdesigns u are a good aqua scaper
This one is more beautiful by far
I like the second one and I like the rock on the left with not so much moss on it as it seems more natural.
I like the second one Your cinematography is cool…. Reminds me of the filming of someone from Turkey 😉. Great job…
The new one is my fav. It's less busy, your eye is drawn to red plants and the carpet. I really like it!
I really loved the firt moss scape... in this new version, the gsp between the rocks is perhaps a bit too wide, so the composition doesn't follow the "golden cut". Current one is my pick!!
I think the new one just needs another 4-5 weeks and it will on par with the first one!! Looks beautiful either way
I liked the first one more but this one looks great! I want to see an update on it once the moss fully grows in.
Looking at the 10 day mark compared to 60 days this is an amazing turnaround!
I like the pinnatifida in the first one alot. But i cant choose in those 2 they are both beautiful
*a lot. No such word as "alot".
@@raybeer5213 oke sir
100% the new one, my only hangup on it is the path in the middle seems too straight. But that's just personal taste, nailed it as usual!
I like them both new one looks great. But I prefer the look of the fissends moss in the old layout😊
It takes time but it looks super natural, I'll definitely try it on some wood too

Twinstar acrylic legs on a Chihiros. Sacrilegious! Jokes! New tank is fab. Glosso is my favourite and it’s what’s currently growing in my new 60p

Oh, the old one is top, when you gave It to your nephew I was so jelaous!! But the new one, with the lower front plants, is absolutley lovely!!

Они оба хороши по своему.
I find both very beautiful. The way some of the plants filled in was more appealing in the first layout, but your inhabitant choices were better for this new layout. You Chili Rasboras are so vibrant and healthy looking ❤️
I goes to this one, but i like a narrow path on previous layout. Anyway every tank always good in its own way.
I like this one more. 😊

2024 looks a bit too artificial, but has superb plants and the colors are so vibrant
Tough choice, but 2020 wins for me
I love the variety of mosses. I don't know which one is better. I think I like the plants better in the newer one, but they're both beautiful.
As a composition the old one is far superior... no lines, no drama in the new one. I do however prefer the planting in the new one.
Super nice with the mix of moss species. Creates a very nice mix of textures and looks very natural!
Always love your videos huge fan from India love your work. If you ever came to India I will take you to one of the biggest aquarium market. And I bet you will love that.

I prefer the first one, it had a very natural looking complexity
Both are beautiful. I would be happy with either one of them.
Nice although I'd have capped the substrate with sand
I prefer the new version, there's more going on and with better contrast 🍻
new one!
Nice & peaceful.
I'm planning a lava rock & rusty slate tank with a nice theme of black & red, nano fish & shrimp. 😎
If I had the space & money, I would love to get an old, 3-tiered lobster tank & do a lava-themed waterfall, paludarium & aquarium combo.
this is currently a cleaner look. i prefer a little more of the overgrown look from the original. both awesome, though
Beautiful tank! Pity the Badis were hiding, would have loved to of seen more of them :)
This looks absolutely fantastic! Glad to see you bring this style scape back. I was bummed you took the other one down, but this one looks even better.
How to relax - watch MJ aqua scaping
I love them both. I can’t pick 😂
Amazing aquascape! Still amazed by the moss being able to grow back from rsuper tiny pieces...😍🤯
the tortoise moss is phenomenal, the overall layout was better in the previous though, but im looking forward to fully covered moss rocks with this one
I like both. The current one is more natural and slightly underdeveloped as an ecosystem - I'd like to see it again sometime later. And the previous one was so nicely covered with beautiful moss that I had to hunt for the same moss for my tank :)
The original one is how i found your channel. Will always be my favourite.
I honestly think the original is more aesthetically pleasing due to the rounded hardscape. But then originals are always hard to beat.

I ''recovered'' the scape by doing a few more water changes and adding an algae cleanup crew :)

nice scape but i prefer the old too was amazing with moss cover all rocks :)

Light is on full power for 8 hours per day! 13:00 till 21:00
Co2 is on from 11:00 till 20:00, not counting bubbles per second, but adding enough to make a dropchecker go nice and light green.

I feel the new one has better plant selection but worse hardscape composition? The left lavarock feels too dominant, my instinct would have been to try to make the right one taller (so you'd have fat and short on the left vs tall and skinny on the right).
